Why would you say that?
I know exactly what you mean, I think it's because they see us so much, sometimes they forget how much bigger we were at one point. I was having similar problems with people saying, oh i can see it in your face....after I had lost a good bit. My clothes were already starting to get really loose. And they can only see the difference in my face? I do tend to lose top to bottom first. I lose in my face, boobs, then the rest seems to take forever, but still...... It wasn't until my mother in law found an older pic of me at my highest weight, that she really noticed and really started complimenting me and telling me how much of a difference she sees. The TV shows are ridiculous, who in the world has time to exercise for 4-5 hrs a day? And how realistic is it to believe they can continue doing that kind of execise regimen after the show is over with? I worry that it sets them up for failure. Anyway, good luck to you, and don't let peoples ignorance get to you, you're doing GREAT!! 57 lbs in 2 1/2 months is phenomenal!!!

Yayyyyyyy that's awesome, congrats!!! :cheer2:

Gallbladder -- anyone WANT it out at same time as surgery?
It's definitely something you could address with your surgeon. Some remove it, some give that medication after surgery that is suppose to help prevent gall stones. I think it's Actigall? I had my gall bladder and stones removed a few yrs back so that's one less thing I had to worry about.

5 year study
What you are describing is a DS (Duodenal Switch). It's the sleeve with the intestinal rerouting for malabsorption.

Ding Dong the Band is GONE!
WOOHOO!!! That's great news, how are you feeling? Congrats and happy healing to you!

It is what it is
No, not at all! I never even had to ask for pain meds, they were brought on a regular schedule like every 3-4 hrs I believe. I didn't even have any breakthrough pain in between. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to be ignored and left in pain like that, it upsets me to even think about it!

It is what it is
I'm so sorry you had this experience, it sounds like a nightmare!! I hope you feel better soon!

confused a bit...
It can happen both ways. It's technically NOT an official stall if you are still losing inches. But most people claim they are stalling if they aren't losing lbs.

Lethargic, Fatigue, Mental Fog
If they didn't get you in right away with these kind of symptoms, I would go to the ER. Please do not try to drive yourself either. I am not sure what this could be, either blood sugar, potassium deficiency, dehydration, but you need to be checked and some blood work done at minimum. I get very frustrated by the staff at most drs offices too, but don't let them discourage you from getting medical assistance if you feel something is wrong. I hope you feel better and find out what's going on soon!

Nothing tastes this good
How wonderful!! The bin idea is a great one. Congrats on your success already! You have a great attitude, it is very important to look at all the positives of losing weight, not just the # on the scale. So many of these moments to look forward to! Good luck on your upcoming surgery!

NSV! So happy I cried!
Awww, I was about to say, you are SOOOO lucky, but you know what?? He is the lucky one, and it sounds like he knows it too, and is expressing it which is awesome, cuz not a lot of guys will express it even if they feel/think it. If some of them only realized how much this means to us, they would do it more often! I loved hearing your story, I felt all the emotions with you. Congrats to you, and thanks for sharing this NSV.

Lethargic, Fatigue, Mental Fog
It could be that you are so newly sleeved and still not getting in enough fluids. But the statement you made about your heart has me concerned. When you say it's beating a bit odd, what do you mean? Faster, irregular, or what? I don't think carbs or even dehydration would cause this, but I am not sure. Do you have any abdominal pain or are you running fever? Please call your Dr if you don't feel right or something is going on with your heartbeat, this can be a symptom of a more serious problem.

I used to be too fat and now I'm too thin...I just can't win
I am not sure if your way of thinking is coming from your depression or what, but you need to listen to your Drs and your hubby right now, because you're not thinking rationally or realistically. If your Dr and family is concerned and we're all concerned, then please just trust that others are very worried about your health and your life. No one is trying to control you or your weight. Your baby girl needs her momma, so as others have said, if you are not capable of doing this for yourself right now, please do it for her. If she was a teen or young adult right now instead of 3 yrs old and was only eating 300-400 calories a day and throwing even all that up, wouldn't YOU be upset and concerned for her well being? I am not trying to be mean, I know you love her. Please love and take care of yourself as you would your daughter. You deserve to be happy AND healthy.

HELP!! I SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO THIS!!!!
You are healing some by now and a lot of the swelling may be going down, so you may be able to eat a little more. And as Tiffy mentioned, a lot of the nerves were cut and may not be signalling your full yet, so definitely keep measuring and don't count on it to keep you from overeating yet. I have noticed a lot of the successful sleevers "undereat" they're sleeve, meaning they always measure and eat only till satisfied or not hungry but not overstuffed. I try not to get too full and also make sure I don't drink with meals, cuz it will just push the food on thru and allow more food.

travel back from Mexico, plane & car
It was no problem whatsoever for me either, I had no real pain. Everyone's recovery can be different, but I had a very easy recovery and really I was pretty comfortable on the plane and in my car ride that was about 2-2 1/2 hrs from the airport to my sisters. I wore loose comfy clothes. I got around pretty easy in the airports. I just didn't lift anything, my bag was on wheels. Good luck!!

Self pay FL vs Mexico
I paid $5500 in May and my surgeon was Dr Kelly in Tijuana MX. The only additional fee was my flight and a little cash to take with me.
