  1. This sounds amazing, thanks! I am ordering mine tonight!
  2. Good morning All Stars! I weighed 197.3 this am, I have actually been at this weight for 4 days now. This puts me down 1.2 lbs from last week. Not a great loss, but it's still a loss. I have increased the intensity of my workouts this week, hoping that will help rev things up a bit! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
  3. So sorry for your loss Coops, and thank you for the reminder to embrace life
  4. Well my check-in today is for the past 2 weeks, because I was in Disney last week. I weighed 198.5 this morning, making me down 3.2 lbs over the past 2 weeks. I am very excited about this, because I definitely indulged some on vacation but still lost, and I am now in ONDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been 10+ years since I have been here, and it feels sooo good to be back!
  5. Quest bars are my favorite, I eat one every day. Vanilla Almond is my favorite, soooo good! Not only are they delicious, but they have the most protein and fiber of any I have found, with no sugar alcohols. Love them!
  6. You're gorgeous! You have done an amazing job, good for you!
  7. I agree with you! Culvers is also my family's treat of choice, about 1-2x per month. I eat one chicken strip and about 4 fries; it satisfies my craving and I move on! I am 5 months out, and I don't think I eat much more that I did at 2 months out. Maybe a little, but I still have really good restriction. I hope it lasts, at least until I hit goal!
  8. Thanks Debbie! You are doing AMAZING! Glad everyone had a good week, now where are the rest of our All Star friends?!
  9. Morning All-Stars!!! How was everyone's week? I weighed 201.7 this am, making me down 2.2 lbs this week. I briefly hit 201.4 the other day, I have been bouncing around there for a few days. This is how I lose, after bouncing around the same few ounces I'll have a good drop. That's ok with me! I am getting very anxious though, Onderland is calling my name!!! I will be in Disney (!!!) next weekend, so I will check back in in 2 weeks!
  10. I really like the Celebrate Iron with C (chewable grape flavor). Tastes like candy!
  11. I like this topic! I am 5'7". My highest weight was 266, when I started the 2 week pre-op diet. I was wearing mostly 24s, some 22s, and 2x in tops. Day of surgery I weighed 258. I will be 5 months out in 2 days, and I now weigh 203 and wear a size 16 pants and L or XL tops. My goal is to weigh 150 and wear a size 8.
  12. Yay Libbe, that is GREAT news!!! I forgot to check-in last week, so my update is from the past 2 weeks. I am down 1.8 lbs from 2 weeks ago, weighing in at 203.9 this am. Not a great loss, but I have been dealing with severe constipation issues, and I am sure that is not helping. I will be 5 months out on Tues 1/24 and have not had one week yet where I didn't lose. I'll take it! Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend! Kristina
  13. Actually, everyone's surgeon and NUTs have different guidelines, and not all of them believe that carbs are evil. Most believe in a more realistic approach: protein first then GOOD carbs if there is room . This surgery is supposed to help us live a normal healthy life, and good carbs are a part of a balanced diet. I eat low carb 90% of the time, moderation is the key.
  14. I LOVE Skinnytaste!!! All of her recipes are delicious, well-balanced, and relatively simple to prepare. It has become my go-to site for recipes!
  15. You're only 4 weeks out, you'll get there. At that time, I was lucky if I hit 600 calories a day, usually about 500 and most of those calories came from 2 protein shakes. I am now 4.5 months out and have no trouble getting 800-1000 calories per day, usually in 4-5 mini meals. Just focus on protein and water while you are healing, and you will be fine. Good luck to you!
  16. I eat 4-5 "mini meals" a day, usually about 150-250 calories each. I can eat such a small amount at a time, but then I am hungry 2-3 hours later. This is working so well for me, I like the feeling of eating small amounts frequently and it keeps my energy levels stable through the day. This is what my surgeon recommends; even without WLS this way of eating is recommended because it stabilizes your metabolism and blood sugar levels. I have not lost my hunger completely, although it has decreased substantially, but this does keep the cravings at bay. Hope this helps!
  17. I have some form of cracker everyday, either with lunchmeat or peanut butter. I avoid potatoes, rice, pasta, and bread; this is my one carb indulgence. My favorites are: Crunchmaster Multigrain Crackers (I get them at Costco; they are soooo good with chicken salad) Suzies Flatbread Crackers (Also from Costco; I like these with thin sliced salami) Wasa Sesame (I like these with sliced turkey) Wasa Crisp n Light (I like these with peanut butter) Hope this helps!
  18. Hey All-Stars! How did everyone do this week? I weighed 205.7 lbs this morning, so I am down 3.7 lbs this week. Very excited! As much as I love the holidays, I am glad to be back to my normal eating routine. Onderland is just around the corner, and I can't wait! Hope you all have a good week! Kristina
  19. I have no issues with light breading like this, as long as it isn't deep-fried. I should mention too, I used skim milk instead of eggs before the bread crumbs because my daughter is allergic to eggs. Worked great!
  20. Made this tonight, it was delicous! http://www.skinnytaste.com/2010/05/chicken-piccata.html
  21. http://smells-like-home.com/2010/03/bb-mini-meatloaves/ I made these yesterday, and they were AMAZING!!! I made the recipe exactly as stated, but I made mine into 12 smaller loaves instead of 6--and I still can't finish one! I put parchment paper on the baking sheet first, kept them from sticking. They also freeze and reheat really well, I love that I have already portioned yummy food to take to work! If you like meatloaf at all (and really who doesn't?!) then you HAVE to make these!
  22. YES! I LOVE skinnytaste! I actually just bought the stuff for her chicken piccata, I am making it for the first time on Thursday. Her recipes are delicious!
  23. Thanks friends! I love the support on this forum, you all are the best!
  24. My biggest wish is to be able to pull tall boots over my thick calves! Also, I would love to be able to wear shorts in the summer, I have only worn capris for the past 7-8 years b/c I was so self conscious of my legs (I am very bottom heavy). Of course, being able to buy something pretty from Victoria's Secret would be nice too
  25. This is my first time posting in Success Stories, but that is what this feels like, a success! As of today I weigh 207.7 lbs, making me down 58.3 lbs. My goal is to lose 116 lbs total, so I am now HALFWAY THERE!!! I have 57.7 lbs to lose to hit my goal, and that feels so much more doable than 116! I am so grateful for this opportunity to finally lose the weight, and I finally feel like myself again after so many years of being uncomfortable in my too-large body. I know it sounds cliche, but I finally feel like I am in control and that I can really do this, and it is the best feeling. I lurked on this forum for months before my surgery, and it was these kind of stories that motivated me to finally do it; for anyone reading this that is still on the fence-DO IT!!! It is not a magic solution, you still have to work at it, but if you do the work IT WILL WORK!!!!
