  1. I weighed 209.4 this am, for a loss of 1.6 lbs this week. Normally that small of a number would bum me out, but with it being Christmas last weekend I will take it! HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS!!!! My goals for the new year are focusing on: Protein, Water, Vitamins, and EXERCISE!!!
  2. Hey friends! I have not checked in for 4 weeks, I have missed you all! I weighed 211 lbs this morning, making my loss 5.6 lbs since my last check in 4 weeks ago. I am not too happy with this number, wish it was higher, but at least I have lost right? I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas filled with laughter and love! I am so looking forward to what 2012 has in store!
  3. Another great week here! I lost 3.4 lbs this week, weighing 216.6 lbs this morning. I am very excited, considering this week was Thanksgiving and my TOM Hope you all are rockin your sleeves! Have a great week friends!!!
  4. Good morning All Stars!!! I had a pretty good week again; I am down 2.5 lbs this week, weighing in at 220 lbs today. I actually hit 220 yesterday (and stayed there today), which was my Thanksgiving goal-I made it 6 days early! I love my sleeve, and I am so thankful I was able to have this procedure done. Hope you all are having a wonderful week as well!
  5. Hey All-Stars!!! I am down 2 lbs again this week, weighing in at 222.5 yesterday (11/12). I am inching closer to onderland, and getting anxious! My biggest issue right now is SLOWING DOWN when I eat. I have a hard time remembering to eat slowly, then I get an awful pain in my upper chest. Otherwise, I feel great and can tolerate most anything except doughy breads. LOVE MY SLEEVE!!! Have a great week friends!
  6. Good Morning All Stars! I lost 2 lbs this week, weighing in at 224.5 lbs this am. I am down 41.5 lbs total. This sleeve is amazing! Hope you all have a great week!
  7. Good morning friends! I lost 2.7 lbs this week, weighing in at 226.5 lbs this morning. I am very excited that it seems to be picking up a bit. Hope you all have a great week! Kristina
  8. Maybe instead of increasing calories, I will try to decrease my carbs to no more than 40 per day...what do you think?
  9. I am following my surgeons rules, which are Protein first, at least 65 grams of protein per day, lots of Water, and eat 5 small meals a day. He also says there is nothing wrong with Protein Drinks, and in fact they are recommended to boost your protein intake. I track everything I put in my mouth, and I eat very well, lots of fresh fruit, lean protein, and Peanut Butter. I am NOT getting these calories from junk.
  10. I am 2 months out from surgery, and usually get 700-900 calories per day. I am an average to slow but steady loser. I am considering upping my calories to 900-1000 per day to see if that helps speed things up. I typically get about 50 grams of carbs and 70-100 grams of protein per day. I am wondering how many calories per day you all eat and how far out from surgery are you? Thanks!!!
  11. Hey friends! I lost 2.1 lbs this week, weighing in at 229.2 lbs today. I am very excited to be out of the 230s finally! And this means I met my Halloween goal of 230 lbs nine days early! I may be losing slow but I do love my sleeve :-) Hope everyone is doing well!!!
  12. Protein Crunch bars from Vitamin Shoppe are delicious. They are more like a wafer cookie than a granola bar, and only have 10 carbs. I highly suggest trying them!
  13. I have to ask, how in the HECK have you lost 70 lbs in 7 weeks???? I am a week behind you, and I have lost 34 lbs, following my instructions to a tee. DANG you are rockin it!
  14. Hey friends! I lost 1.5 lbs this week, weighing in at 231.3 on Sunday. I too have been a slow loser. I get between 700-900 calories a day, under 50 carbs, and over 60 grams of protein, so I don't really know what I should change in order to speed things up. I am hoping that increasing my exercise will help. Good luck to you all!!!
  15. Good morning friends! I weighed in at 232.8 lbs this am, which puts me down 3.1 lbs this week! This is a lot for me, I am a slow loser, but at least I'm losing. I feel great, no issues, so I am not complaining. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
  16. I only count total carbs; a carb is a carb to me.
  17. I finally made these, and they are SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! I am very excited to have a treat that doesn't kill my diet. Here is how I made them: I cup Peter Pan Creamy Peanut Butter (my favorite) 2 scoops of Pure Protein Frosty chocolate protein powder 5 packets of Splenda (I did not do the oats, but increased the protein powder instead.) I melted the peanut butter in the microwave before adding the other ingredients. It was too hard to form into balls when it was still warm and melty, so I let it sit on the counter for about an hour first. Then I made the balls and let them sit in the fridge for a few hours. I split mine into 13 (relatively) even balls; it comes out to (per ball): Calories=86 Total Carbs=3 Fat=6 Protein=6 These stats are based on the brands of ingredients I used I have found my new favorite treat/snack!
  18. I bought all of the ingredients and I'm excited to make this over the weekend! I have 2 questions though: 1) Can balsamic vinegar be substituted for the cider vinegar? 2) You mentioned that this is a canning recipe...I have never canned anything before, how do I do it exactly? Is there a special process or do you just pour it in the mason jars and be done with it? Thanks!
  19. Heather, you have saved me! Breakfast is my biggest challenge, scrambled eggs every day gets a little boring. Well I went on eggfaces website and got recipes for high protein pumpkin pancakes, chocolate protein mini muffins, and blueberry protein mini muffins! YUM! I figure one or two of these with a piece of bacon or ham will give me a nice high protein breakfast. Thanks for the sugestion!
  20. Thank you for this post, I really needed to hear this today. I have been feeling a little discouraged since I have not lost my hunger and seem to be losing slower than others...but at least I am losing! You really made me feel more positive, thank you again!
  21. YOU ARE GOREOUS!!! Seriously, I am blown away and so inspired by your post. 102 lbs since surgery 7 months ago is amazing and so impressive, good for you! You sound so happy, that is what this journey is really all about. Would you mind sharing your tips and strategies? For instance, how many calories/carbs/protein you get in a day, how much exercise, etc? That would be so helpful, thanks!
  22. What a beautiful post, thank you. I really needed this today.
  23. Wow you all are why I LOVE this forum! The support is so necessary in this journey. I'm excited to go to the store today and try some of your ideas. I only like eggs scrambled, so I have been having one for breakfast. And even though I am picky, I am lucky that I love most meats. Seafood, not so much, although I do like the frozen breaded fillets. I am trying so hard to shave some of the carbs off, they have always been my downfall, so I am so grateful for high protein ideas to have instead. I want so badly to succeed and do it the right way. I hope someday I can help each of you the way you have helped me! THANK YOU!!!!
  24. Thanks for all of the great suggestions everyone! I know I am super picky, but at least I LOVE peanut butter, and have been having that with a few multi-grain crackers. I also supplement with a protein shake every day. I will give some of the other ideas a try, thanks again!
  25. Hi neighbor! Where in STL are you? Where is your surgery? SO excited to have local support buddies
