  1. Hello, I see you are on week 5. I hope this change in your taste is temporary. Your ticker tape: does it reflect the weight you lost pre op? In 5 weeks how much have you lost? Me well I am on week two and starting to eat real food. I lost almost 20 lbs pre op so it will be interesting to see how much weight I start melting off. I am tired of being unhealthy. I now have a belly button Seems so little. I look forward in our chatting. Blessings, MN Mary

  3. You could call the office and ask to talk to Dr.? When they tell you he is no longer with the practice tell them you are a classmate going through town and wanted to have lunch with him. Then ask for his number where he can be reached. or his cell number..... I work for doctors and sometime you have to be creative. Mary

  11. Hang in there...... Surgery is crazy. Believe you will be fine... Don't worry it won't do anything except make more acid in your tummy. Someone said in the chat room to sip warm water. It works best. MN Mary
  12. How are you doing now,.... Have you moved off the 70 lbs? Perhaps you will have to keep a journal of what you are eating/:thumbup1: I have lost a little over 20 lbs for surgery. Surgery will be next Weds. Have been reading everything I can. Wish you my best. MN Mary
  13. Being 4' 11" has always been a challenge for me to control portions of food. Every year I have lost 20 to 25 lbs but then gain 35 lbs. I'm sure some of you understand exactally what I am saying. I have thought about bariatric surgery for several years however didn't like the vomiting and dumping that went with it. Two years ago I met a woman in Chandler AZ who had the sleeve and told me that this was the best thing that she had ever done. I did some reading and got ever excited about doing this for myself. When I went to the surgeons office I was told that my insurance didn't cover the VSG. I was bummed so decided to have the band. I had to go thru 4 visits with a nutriionist a month a part for insurance to cover the band and in May my insurance started to cover the VSG procedure. YEAH!!!! So I am on course to have the sleeve, October 6th. I was forced into retirement 3 weeks ago so I will be able to have "me" time and get healthy. I have lost 22 lbs pre-op and have 110 left to loose. I look forward to friendship on this site. I am a little scared but hear great things from those who have had the surgery.:biggrin0:
