  1. hi guys! i got my sleeve on 9/29/10. i lost 8 lbs the first week. since them i feel like i can eat too much! i get hungry. i feel like maybe i should have gotten the bypass after all! i go to my dr tommorrow and im almost scared to get on that scale! i feel like i probably havent lost any more weight! i think i can eat too much! nothing makes me throw up. i can eat sweets, which i knew i would be able to. i can have about 6-8 oz of food! i question myself that maybe the dr made my sleeve too big! i get this burning feeling in my stomach just 2 hours after i eat that it feels like a bomb blew up in there. im going to ask my dr to prescribe nexium because it just might be acid. im just feeling defeated you know? like here i am i went under for this surgery only to loose a couple pounds. i went back n forth so much over the bypass or sleeve. i felt id made the right choice. now not so much. there are foods that get me so nauseaous like potatoes, butter & rice just doesnt go down right. ive changed my eating habits. i am eating more fish & chicken. much less red meats. maybe i felt like id have lost 25-30lbs by now and seeing that i havent makes me sad. this only leads to wanting more food. omg and the head cravings are insane! i wish there was a support group in my area! i know all of our experiences are different. i also know i need to make a sacrifice on my part. i thought this would be easier. i thought id never be hungry again. never crave sweets again. i still have to learn to just throw away food. thats such an issue for me. its like i have to clean my plate or else i feel guilty. please give me tips, suggestions to make this easier. i want to change, i do want to be a slave to food ever again. i hate being addicted to food. i swore this surgery would be the answer, but now i am 2nd guessing my desicion.......
  2. i got surgery sept 29th. i did the first week of clear liquids only. on the 2nd week i got the ok to eat yogurt, pudding, oatmeal, milk. thing is i get hungry!! so i have crackers here and there. i feel like i can eat alot, surley not like i ate b4 but for example i make my oatmeal with 4oz of milk and 2 tablespoons of finely processed oatmeal. it makes for a child portion more or less. i can eat it all! is that ok? shouldnt i be eating like a bird? i can drink water. i can gulp it! why? i hear everyone else here cannot. im scared my surgeon might have left my stomach too big. i didnt do this drastic surgery to loose 40lbs. this afternoon i ate a piece of toasted bread about the size of my palm. is this ok? this early?
  3. Hello everyone, i got surgery exactly one week today. ive been on my clear liquids. yesterday i went to my dr and was told i could have yogurt, jello, oatmeal, cream of wheat for taste. which means i can have a lil spoonful here and there. i got a great protien shake which im doing. thing is i dont know if its normal but i get hungry! i dont mean hungry as in when i see somthing that smells and looks good i DO wish i could eat it. although that also happens. i mean i will get a stomach ache. a empty sinking hunger ache. im trying to drink water as often as possible. its hard because im a stay at home mom of 3 children 6 and under. i try to drink my vitamins. they kind of upset my stomach. they give me terrible colic. so my question is am i supposed to get hungry? for example this morning at about 9am i had my protien shake, it was about a 6 oz shake. i went out and by 1pm i was starving. did they do somthing wrong? sigh
  4. Thank you guys! This is def not an easy way out! My stomach aches are a bit better only now I have diarrhea. My dr said give my stomach a few days to adjust and it will get better. He said I should be able to drink 64oz! Woah! I can barely get 8oz in! So I'm hanging in there.
  5. I had the VGS on 9/29. Whenever I drink or eat my broth I get such terrible colic like rumbling stomach aches. I literally have to stand still. I got the upper gi and have no leakage. Is this normal? Will I ever eat again? Sigh
  6. hi guys i get my surgery tommorrow  i was under the impression that id be there 2-3 days and now when i talk to my dr office they said one day!!! yikes! is that ok? i have 3 small kids at home ages 6 years old-8months and i was relived that id be in the hospital because i know i was gonna get rest & in case i have complications. the guys told me my insurance (horizon blue croos blue shield) sees it as a lap band. as an ambulatory surgery. so please guys tell me the truth how many days did you stay? how did you feel after 24 hours?
