  1. Incidentally, I shared a pitcher of beer with my Mom at our local dive bar. Talk about bonding. :nervous I don't really care how anyone loses weight. Star Jones just ticked me off to no end for denying she'd had WLS. By denying it and using the "I've used diet and exercise" routine that we've ALL heard over and over again, it feeds into the fairytale that all overweight folk need to do is find the right diet. If it was that easy, we wouln't be here. I didin't mean to offended anyone with the "easy way out" comment. I wasn't trying to imply it's easy. It is however a reasonable end to years of yo-yo dieting and banging your head against the same brick wall of fad diets and infomercial exercise machines. Frankly, I think it should be done more often and with less shame. What's the glory in dieting and dieting and dieting with no or limited success?
  2. Fact is, Oprah has never been skinny, just like so many of us here. However.....chick has more money than GOD. Get lapband, get a sleeve, get a DS, get a RNY, who gives a shit if it's the so called "easy way". Isn't life hard enough without INSITING you make it harder? How many personal chefs, personal trainers, personal motivators do you have to go through before you figure out that this ISN'T going to happen with the same old drone diet/exercise/watchwhatyoueat/workoutmore mentality? And as for aging...Pbbt. If you've got the money to afford a plastic surgeon who'll keep you looking under 45 till you're 105...GO FOR IT. Why not? Then again, I am drunk posting...soooo, I could be way outta line. Oh. And PS....Star Jones can suck me. She's the biggest fake that ever walked the earth. Diet and excersise my ASS. Just admit you had WLS, we'll respect you more for it. It's better than feeding us this bullshit about a pilates, Water and yoga. PUH-LEEZE!
  3. I don't mean to sound cynical.....but..... HAHAHAHAH!! Word. Nail-Head-Got it. Took the words from my mouth. For that matter, if Oprah hasn't had surgery with all of her disposable income....the broad is just plain stupid IMHO.
  4. I dont even want to let them know I'm having surgery. I'm going under the guise of visiting a family member. If I told people I was having surgery the rumors would range from a breast aug to abortion or sex change.
  5. I'm self pay to Mexico, so I'm not discussing the who/what/where/when/why of my time off with any of my coworkers. ....Because they are big ol'blabber mouths.
  6. Damnit! Thanks to my job (bastards) I can't take the time off for my surgery till after the New Year! POO SANDWHICH! Does this mean I'm excommunicated and banished to the January thread? And here I was so proud of coming up with the "Merry Losers" name....
  7. It's the best BC in the world. I got on it about a month after the FDA approved it, so around 6 years. I'll never go on any other form of birth control again. No side effects, no forgetting pills, no break through bleeding (a v. big problem for me) and I didn't gain weight on it. I can't say enough good things about it.
  8. I'm planning on having it done in MX, yes. How much was the surgery at Abington, if you don't mind me asking?
  9. Does the Doctor at Abington use Fluro to fill? I'm a bit leery of FillCenters USA in general, and I heard a horror story on LBT about that FillCenter location not really doing a fill on a girl. A "phantom fill", if you will.
  10. Bumping this, I too am looking for Phills in Philly. Haha, little City of Brotherly Love humor there.
  11. FWIW, I'm into BodyMods, specifically piercings and in that realm titanium is regarded as the best materia to place in a fresh piercing as it so rarely causes an allergic reaction. It's almost entirely hypo allergenic.
  12. My Mum was one of the evacuee's from the Lake Arrowhead area. They've already lost over 200 homes in that area, and the winds are blowing towards her neck of the woods. It's been very stressful, but thankfully she's safe and sound. She said it was very surreal driving down the mountian with the flames and smoke lighting up the skyline.
  13. Very, very informative post. I think it deserves a sticky.
  14. Very, very informative post. I think it deserves a sticky.
  15. I've got my doctor picked out, my surgery date allllmost set, airfare figured out for that day, my RN mom coming with me, and good idea of my aftercare doctor. This is getting kinda.....real. I'm scared and nervous, but everytime I look at the before and after photos I think to myself "it could be real, you can really do this".
  16. Pashmina! Don't dispare! I'm very into BodyMod's, especially piercings. Hypertrophic scarring and keloids are very common risks with piercings. I had one on my industrial piercing. Might I suggest the following: Soak your scars, using a shot glass or small mug, with hot Water and un-iodized sea salt. Soak twice a day for 15 minutes, then apply Tea Tree Oil to the scars. Take a photo on the first day you start doing this, you should see results in about two weeks, even more after four. It's a lot cheaper then a plastic surgeon.
  17. Search Huacuz's name on this forum. That should explain it.
  18. I'm addicted to this show too! I'm also VERY hooked on "Plastic Surgeries: Before & After". Damn you, TiVo!
  19. Argh! Very jealous of you. I can't find a local doc with any sort of reputation who will do the surgery for anything near what MX will cost me. I expect to spend $9500 on the surgery and fills, and all Doc's around here are twice that. Kirshenbaum is close to that, but I'd still have to cough up extra $$ for airfare and fills. You'd think that living within a day's drive of Chicago, Baltimore, DC, Philly, NYC, and Boston that I'd have better luck.
  20. Does anyone know offhand if Dr. Fielding will do fills for MX patients?
  21. So what happens if you're self pay, and perhaps go out of the country, and develop a complication? Say an infection, or gallbladder problems? Will your insurance cover it? Anyone have any experiences with this?
  22. Wow. Amen. You really put that into perspective for me.
  23. Hey, PreBander with a question! Do you have to use liquid Vitamins or is this only after surgery/fills? Do all medications have to be taken in liquid form?
  24. Tulip... I will say that when taken as directed, that stuff really does work. Even during that experience it was impressive to me how it managed to really, ah, clear out the grease. :rolleyes MusicalMomma.... Not sounding harsh at all. I think it is a good product. It was my bad for confusing the directions and adding to it that I made the drastic misjudgement of eating Sonic for breakfast. ...Which is a drastic misjudgement anytime of the day, let alone at 6am with Alli.
