or chewable? dont want to limit responses. what vitamins are doing best you everyone? thanks!

Hey, PreBander with a question!

Do you have to use liquid Vitamins or is this only after surgery/fills? Do all medications have to be taken in liquid form?

I have had 3 fills totalling 2.5cc's in a 4cc band and I can still swallow all my medications whole. The program directions say to use the chewable form of vitamins and calcium for life. I use Centrum chewables and Bariatric Advantage chewable calcium citrate.

I started with liquid vitamins, but after about a week couldn't choke it down anymore, the taste was terrible. I went back to my large pre-band vitamin pills cut in two for a few days and then just swallowed them whole with warm liquids in the morning. I haven't had any problems with them going down. I'm four months out now and I do still have problems with some foods, but pills have not been a problem for me.

I take the Centrum Silver chewables. Silver doesn't have any Iron, for those of us women who don't menstruate. I also take the Viactive Calcium Chews--tastes just like a Tootsie Roll.

Pre-band, I always had a hard time taking a daily Vitamin. Too hard to swallow. This is much easier.

I can recommend a liquid vitamin NOT to take.... The centrum liquid. It is awful! You know when you take a vitamin and you can smell it in your urine, well I imagine that if we were to drink that urine it would taste the same. YUCK!! I even tried mixing it in my protein shake so I could get it down.....bad idea!! I had to make a whole new shake-minus the vitamin. I think I spent about $8 on it and threw it away 2 days later. Damn, $8 in the garbage. I would recommend going with a chewable, but hey that's my opinion.

BTW, Lessnless, I thought Centrum silver was for seniors. You aren't a senior!!! Does it have more of something than the regular Centrum that I don't know about?

im jumping in here. bout 6 weeks out.

Go to Sams Club and buy Gummie Vites! Taste exactly like Gummy Bears! My doc has always told me kids chewable Vitamins are pretty muchh the same as the rest.
