  1. Are you eating protein first, then veggies and carbs if you still have room? If you are eating a lot of soft foods then you are working against your band because they go right through.
  2. Welcome to LBT! Like everyone said it depends on your doctor and insurance. Make the appointment and he will give you an idea of how long it might take. Good Luck and keep us posted.
  3. There are several threads about this subject, you might want to do a search on it. I lost a lot of my hair, but it all grew back. In fact, if you feel your scalp you are probably already growing in new hairs. My doctor told me it was hormones and nothing I could take or do would help it, it will grow back in pretty fast.
  4. That is a long time, but I have read several threads of people that had theirs stop for a while. I think the hormones get all messed up with the weight loss. I agree though you might want to see your obgyn just to make sure. Good Luck!
  5. I get it if I eat to much too! The little weird things our bands do to tell us to behave!
  6. Wow! Pat I really like that car! And, we would all love for you to break it in on a trip to Texas! Awwww, your GS is adorable! Cindy - Moderators don't delete threads unless the original poster asks them to, but the the original poster can delete their own posts so they don't need to ask us. If it gets way out of hand, we lock them though. I didn't get to see or read the post y'all are talking about, so I don't know what actually was said or how it was deleted. And, yes, when things get way out of hand we usually do ask that person to handle things differently. Hope that explains why it has been handled the way it was. I have been pretty busy here at home lately so I don't get to read all the threads all the time. I do try to make it here every day, but once in a while I don't even get to do that. I just wish everyone would get along and we didn't have to watch every word we say anymore. I know a lot of people aren't posting for that very reason. Hopefully soon things will get back to normal, but until then just post on the ones you feel comfortable posting on.
  7. Welcome to LBT! Congrats on your banding too!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  8. Good Morning Y'all! Wow! I just can't get over all the snow y'all are getting! I bet it is just beautiful! I always loved sitting inside and looking out at it after a fresh snow. Heck, I use to love the stuff, couldn't imagine ever living in a place without it, but now, I love not having it at all! I couldn't go back to the cold states ever again, I would just freeze to death.:biggrin1: :biggrin1: Sherry - Hey girl, good luck tomorrow! Are you going to be able to get to the hospital with all that snow? Be careful! Post when you can and let us know how you are! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Eileen - Like you, I am still in my jammies too! I am also doing some cooking, just getting some stuff made up ahead of time. We had a black lab that loved the snow. He would lay out in it and soon he would melt the snow clear to the cement drive. Sometimes I would bring him in the house because I thought it was too cold for him outside and he would last about an hour, then pant so bad and stand my the door till he could go back out and lay in the snow! He use to throw the snow up with his nose and catch it in his mouth. I sure do miss him!:think Zan - Hope you have a beautiful walk! Stay warm though! Pat - I know what you mean about taking a break! I have to do the same thing at times. I have also been busy so haven't gotten here as much as I usually do and missed several of the posts. One in particular got deleted and I didn't get to see what all the talk was about. Y'all gotta tell me when something is really good! :D Anne- Hello, miss your posts! Cindy and Beanie - good morning ladies! Hope you are having a great one! I gotta go check my cooking!
  9. I spent the night and came home then next morning. I went back to work in 3-4 days, but I worked half days for a couple of days. If you can take a week off, it is really the best thing to do. Good Luck!
  10. Research, research and then research some more. Surgery is not something to take lightly, and you need to know all the facts about it before jumping into it. Please take some time to do that before making up your mind.
  11. You need to call your doctor right away. Throwing up daily can damage your band! Please don't take any more chances. Also you need to be doing liquids only now!
  12. Welcome to LBT! I was a self pay and I didn't have to do all that testing. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
  13. Are you doing some kind of exercise? That will give you more energy!
  14. Jello helped me a lot during this time. Also grape and apple juice.
  15. I didn't have to crush mine, but if you are real tight you might have to. I don't have any problem taking pills. Some medications shouldn't be crushed though so you might need to talk to the doctor before doing that.
  16. Welcome to LBT! Lots of valuable information here just for taking the time to read it. I think most topics have been discussed at one time or another on here! There is even a lot of off topic threads! :bananajump:
  17. I had to take some last week, I just made sure to flush my pouch with a lot of water afterwards. You should be fine for a short period of time. Hope you start feeling better!
  18. Lately I have been feeling much shorter. I'm short to begin with 5'4" but now I feel really short! Any body else feel shorter?
  19. Try eating less in the evening and see if that will work for you. Some people eat large meals at night and are too tight the next morning.
  20. Welcome to LBT! Your band date is right around the corner! Good luck and be sure to post and let us know how your surgery went.
  21. Welcome to LBT! Yes, I even forget at times that I am banded. Yesterday I went to the store and while I was there someone handed me a piece of bread with spinach topping on it. Now, I haven't eaten bread since I was banded, and without thinking I took a big bite out of it chewed it well and swallowed it. Then I took another bite and it dawned on me what I had done! So, yes, you will get to a point that you forget and feel normal. I have times that I take one too many bites and I feel really full, other times I just feel comfortable. It really is a feeling you will get use to in time.
  22. Welcome to LBT and bandland! It is hard to say yes you can eat pizza again, some people can eat anything, while others can't. You will have to try it and see for yourself. I have wine once in a while, I just don't do it on a daily basis. The gas usually gets a little better, but I don't think it ever goes away. Yes, once you get off the liquids the diahrea will improve. Good luck!
  23. A heating pad works wonders for the shoulder pain.
