  1. I don't think you'll regret getting it done sooner.....:crying: And thanks very muchly! Will keep you informed!! Kathy
  2. Good luck Zephra and all others!! I wrote a note, and stuck it, eye level on the fridge - "DON'T EAT!!!" I have to say it helped!!! Maybe get your worst photo and add it to it...and stock up for food for anyone else in the house in advance - the less you have to deal with food when you can't eat it the better IMO!! Good luck Kathy
  3. I trust the more experienced will step in with this one, but maybe you hit the stall early?? My vote would be hang in there and keep on as you are, keep track of everything and eventually it should start dropping off. Good luck Kathy
  4. Finally the result you wanted - i'm so pleased for you. Good luck with your surgery. Kathy
  5. Congrats!! I'll be joining you tomorrow on the losers bench!! Thanks for the shoulder tip! Lol Keep walking. Kathy

Hi there - Congratulations! Its a tough decision to make, but you've done the hard bit and faced your demons. Just think - if you can get a grip on the panic pre op eating (which is hard I will admit) and saying goodbye to foods which you'll probably still be able to eat long term anyway, then 341 won't get any higher, and will only come down!! Good luck with the journey - we'll look forward to reading thru your blogs and sharing it with you. Kathy
  7. LOL - Mine wasn't too bad tasting, strawberry flavoured. But I'll warn you... when you feel the need to pass this stuff... take a tip and do it in a public loo.....Mine took ages to go thru the system... as it went all hard! LMAO - my husband found it so funny! (But men are like that!). Good luck
  8. Why not? Its always worth asking... even if you hear nothing you'll know you tried. You may find she is full of info for you..... Good luck! Kathy
  9. This is fantastic news!! You must be walking every step with a huge grin!! Keep up the great work. Kathy

  11. Congrats on the big 4-0!! We're bikers too..... and I can't wait until I can get my butt into some leather biker trousers I have had for 3 years and never managed to get on! lol Keep up the good work! Kathy
  12. On a week when my dog has better food in his bowl than me, I am drooling at the thought of your rib eye steak!!! I've also got a GF - brilliant thing....and a godsend in our kitchen. Can't wait to be out the other side of this and cooking steaks too!!
  13. Maddie Wishing you a speedy recovery - hopefully you're feeling better than you did. Do post when you can to let us know things are going ok. Best wishes Kathy
  14. I can only speak as a pre sleever... but I'd rather get it over with. We started looking at the sleeve idea back in February, and were waiting for finances to get moved around and a family wedding commitment before booked a date. I'd much rather have had it done there and then, instead of waiting. I also think I will be less likely to want lots of food in the summer months (we're in Spain so it gets quite hot here). And I can make use of the cooler mornings and evenings to do some walking, and use our pool for swimming in once cleared for it after surgery. In the winter months I'll not be able to swim (as the pool will be too cold) and I love it. I know some have found their liquids really hard, I'm finding it (pre op so far) ok.... and have been around people when they are eating. I can honestly say I have not drooled once....and found it quite a rewarding challenge to cope with it. One way to cope might be to do the cooking,..... and busy yourself that way, rather than sit around waiting for cooked food that you can't eat. I get a lot of satisfaction from providing for people, knowing they can gain the weight not me!! LOL Good luck Kathy
  15. Don't apologise for the rant - thats what we are here for....I think we've all been in similar situations, so can all identify with your feelings. Its a brilliant incentive for you tho - perhaps next year you'll be running with them - you never know!! Chin up! Kathy

  23. John - I think your concerns are common - the majority of us are here due to failed dieting attempts, I for one have never reached a goal I set myself beyond starting the diets in the first place. Yoyo'd up and down the scale yes, but not managed to attain that final placing!! I think Wannlise is right, be guided by the healthy BMI figures. My surgeon gave me an idea of how much weight he thought I would loose. So i am going by that figure....but I think it'll also be a case of see how I feel when I get there (feels weird not typing 'IF I get there!!). I must have been my goal weight at some point in my life on the way up the scales, but can't recall ever being there in my adult life....so its a learning curve for most of us. Good luck Kathy
  24. Good luck to you all.....I'm under the knife (or chopsticks! LOL) on Thursday. Kathy
  25. Good luck for Friday... and its great you have your grandmother for support. Let us know how you get on. Kathy
