  1. I've been able to sleep on my side since day 3, the side without the drain - and to start with I used a pillow inbetween me and hubby incase he lashed out in the night! Drainside it still feels a little weird sleeping that side, so I tend not to yet. Anyone else getting a furry tongue from all the Protein? I'm not even getting in my total, but still get a load of fur which I have to scrape off - lovely!!! Kathy
  2. Cutting back the portions is good preparation for post op.... good luck with your surgery - the next few days will zoom by and you'll be sleeved before you know it.

Hope it went well for you... the first 48hrs are the roughest, but they soon pass by and you'll be feeling better really quickly. Post when you can to let us know how it went. Good luck
  4. Am I right in thinking these are literally pork rind, what in the UK you call pork scratching? Surely these are just nearly 100% fat?? Having avoided stuff like this for the past 20 yrs it would take a miracle to get me to eat it now..... sometimes this sleeve stuff really plays with your head!! LOL Kathy
  5. Hi Lillie My post op diet also says at 2 weeks I can have 'proper' food... so I'll be interested to see how this post works out. Do you think your bougie size affects it? Are you on the smaller side - I'm done with a 32f. Kathy
  6. Congrats on your date! The next few weeks will pass quickly, so good luck! Kathy
  7. I reckon its 4th time lucky this time, and for the right choice as well. Good luck Kathy
  8. No idea on any plans.... as can't have kids (husband had the snip)... but do congratulate you and wish you all the luck in the world. Kathy
  9. Thanks Angie... some good comments which are very inspiring.... Kathy
  10. I've just spent the evening with a group of friends... not close friends, but close enough to know I have already lost weight.... and I didn't tell them. I don't want them to think I 'took the easy route', nor get into the 'you don't need to do that' debate.... no one knows about my battles with my weight except me.... and a couple of select people.... I positioned my past weight loss, and also positioned my future weight loss.... bit of a total detox style diet at the moment, hence no drinking, and then in about 2 weeks I'll be back on 'normal' food but smaller portions as my stomach will be smaller then. So I've not really lied, just been economical with the truth. Add into that the fact my hubby said he'll give up smoking when I hit 147lbs and thats the winning deal for me. So they know to expect me to lose a lot of weight this summer.....Bring it on!! Kathy
  11. Hi Wendy and welcome.... my pre and post op is Optifast too.... they're ok. Good luck Kathy
  12. Sounds like your head is already in the 'zone' so you'll be great..... good luck and keep us informed.... Kathy
  13. Glad to hear each day is better..... I highly recommend the cushioned stomach.... especially good when laughing, or sneezing!!! That really hurts! lol
  14. HI and welcome I also wasn't looking forward to the social part of it.... but figured what did I want more. So far we've not been out yet, but I'm not even on full liquids, but on my pre op we had guests staying and I fed them and also we went out and I just made my excuses food wise.... I've not been really hungry since my sleeve, and being around food it ok for me, but I know in my head I have no choice now. You can still eat, but it'll be smaller portions than you used to, which you can explain by saying your diet requires it - hence explaining your weight loss..... Good luck Kathy
  15. It is amazing around there.... we know 4 people who have done it, and its easy walk, plus the terrain isn't flat by a long shot. We travelled up that way 2 yrs ago and its such a beautiful area, although 2 of our friends are doing it as we speak and its been raining almost the whole time, unusual for this time of year for them. You must do at least the last 100km walking to get your certificate, but other than that can choose if you want to go any further. Those that we know who have done it have described it as a life changing event. Kathy
  16. Thanks Tiffykins - I'm gonna have to look up these time zones.....to make sure I'm in the right time zone! :biggrin0: Look forward to chatting some day/night/afternoon... whatever! Kathy
  17. Congrats on your sleeve and your current weight loss - what a brilliant start to your new life. Kathy

  19. Good to see your story.... you got the lung ball thing too.... I felt really silly having to keep using it, but it did help! My hubby wanted me to bring it home, said we'd paid enough for it!!! And at least you've sorted out the itch - that must be such a relief for you....take it easy and you'll feel so much better each morning. Take care - Kathy
  20. Sorry to hear your news - when are you having the evaluation done - fairly soon I hope. Fingers crossed for you and your date not changing, Keep us informed Kathy
  21. Hi there and welcome to the losers bench As far as I know its normal for the ball in your chest - I think its acid (but theres much more exp sleevers out there that'll post the answer....) Are you on an acid reducer? Good luck with your recovery
