  1. I tryed it and found it is pretty much like all the other diet stuff. I couldn't see that it worked at all. It states that you can't eat after taking it. I couldn't see where it made me feel full, just jumpy and I couldn't sleep at night. I also just tryed Relacore, it states that it does not make you feel zittery. But it kept me from sleeping more than about 3 hours each night. I am very sensitive to any diet pill and have never found anything that worked. That is why I am learning all I can about the lap band. It seems to be the only thing that will work. Would love to hear from any of you that have found anything that has helped at all.

I just read the article you recommended. I plan on having my husband read this. It is very informative and looks at the big picture. Thank you for helping us that are still in the planing stages.
  3. I know of two people who had open surgical sites that wouldn't heal after surgery. They finally used a pack of dampened gauze with proxide and water. They changed it every two hours and replaced the packing (new gauze with the proxide and water). With in two days the wound closed. I am not giving medical advice but just passing information on that you may want to think about. Also have you thought about going to bed and taking it easy so your body has a chance to heal???. Not easy this time of year.I read everthing you write and am learning so much from you. Hope you are better soon.
  4. Have any of you heard of anyone who has not lost any weight at all?
  5. I have read alot of your experiences on being banded. Many of you refer to everything you have given up to have the band. The changes you have had to adapt to.The things you can't have, food you can't eat. I would like to hear about any and all these things.........Please.
  6. I never eat second helpings. I diet and am just able to keep from gaining more than the 10 pounds I put on each year. I was thin as a child, put on weight during child bearing years. I was able to take that off easily and keep it off until Menopause. At that point nothing I do works.
  7. I know there are some foods I will never eat again. I know I will need to chew, chew, chew. And I know I will still feel like eating when I can't. (emotional stuff) Will need lots of after care. I am talking to a new Surgeon in my area next week. I am going to ask him to refer me to someone close if he won't do my after care. Please give me any other advise you may have. Thanks
  8. I to have some of the same feelings you have. I have a BMI of 31. I have been dieting for 30 years. If I didn't diet all the time I really don't know how much I would weigh. If I could lose this weight by myself I would. I have tryed everything. I will be a self pay and I will need to do alot of things to get the money. But I feel it will be worth it. I know I will need to continue to diet. But maybe it will really work this time. Good Luck!
  9. Thanks for your replys. I have always hated to drink water. It kind of makes my feel sick ???? But I really need to try some different things to get this weight off. The diet coke thing I know I need to kick. You guys really inspire me. I spoke to my Dr. here in town this week about the Surgery and he was totally in the dark about it. But before I left he wanted more information about it.He said he was not in disagreement that I need to do something soon but didn't like the idea of me going to Mexico. Mostly because of infection. He referred me to a new Surgeon just out of Medical School here in town. I am hoping he will agree to do the fills.I guess I just need to kick the diet coke and start with the water. What kinds do you guys like? Please give me any advice you think will help.
  10. I am still trying to deside on surgery. I guess I am a lite weight. (Need to lose 50 pounds) I have been reading alot of what you guys are eating after your surgerys. I am not a big eater but my body stores food like crazy. I am amazed at how much you can eat and still lose weight!!!!!! I eat pretty much what you are eating and I gain weight every week????? I follow the high protein diet and will have a few more veggies or fruit that I should but stay pretty close to Atkins. The only difference is that I never drink water and usually drink 4 or 5 diet cokes a day. Give me some feed back here.......
  11. I have heard that people who have had this surgery can no longer drink soda's(DIET COKE.)
  12. What do your hear about Dr. Kuri's after care?
  13. I have been looking at Hospitals in Mexico. I am about 50 pounds over weight and I understand they do the Surgery with a low BMI there. I will need to pay cash for my Surgery. I have struggled most of my life to not gain anymore weight that I have. To most of you it may seem like I don't weight enough but it have really effected my self esteem. Have any of you had any experience with a Surgery in Mexico or had the Surgery and have a low BMI?
