  1. LOL!!!! I fit all of the above!
  2. That yellow stuff is a sign of infection. I don't think you want to have that in your bod when you're having surgery! Call your dr and what he says.
  3. Geez, Pat!!! I'm glad you're ok. Take it easy, girl!!!
  4. Holy Smokes!!! It's about time! Congratulations and good luck!!!
  5. Congratulations, Fran!!! I'm glad you're all fixed up now. Believe me, my own journey has been extremely frustrating so I know how you feel! Looking forward to hearing about your nsv's soon!!!
  6. Congrats, Emmy!!! You're on your way!!!
  7. Estela, I had a fill without flouro for the first time today. I was pretty uneasy about it, but it all went ok. I felt a lot better when the dr actually drew out the saline that was already in the band to measure it, that was when I knew the needle had really hit my port. If I were you, I would ask if that dr. will do that. You don't wanna go paying big bucks for a fill only to have him miss the port! Good luck!
  8. Larae, I just found out today that one of my previous 3 fills missed the port, too. And it was done by a radiologist under flouro!!! Go figure...
  9. Where in the heck are ya'll seeing this rep thing?
  10. Wow! You look great!!!
  11. This one was done by my surgeon in his office instead of going to the horrid radiology dept. at the hospital. It was my first blind fill. He took out the saline that was already in there and measured it and it turns out I only had 2cc's instead of 3. Guess one of the radiologist missed my port (under flouro!!!). Anyway, my dr put 3cc's back in. He also said my port is slightly tilted, probably from scar tissue, but it shouldn't be much of a problem. This was my first experience where anyone had to 'stick and dig'. UGH!!! I could hear the needle catch on my port and slip off!!!! Thank God he deadened the area first. It was scary, but even so, I am happy that my own dr will be doing my fills from now on instead of some no name radiologist! As soon as I got back in my office, without thinking, I picked up my Water mug and took a BIG gulp. Oops! I could feel it back up in my chest a little. Not painful, but I was aware it was there. Now I know why you guys say sip, sip, sip!!! I always gulp, gulp, gulp, LOL!!!

Guess what???? April is only 6 weeks away! It will be here before you know it. Good luck!
  13. That's great, Christina!!! You're gonna need a confidante and your sister sounds like a good one!
  14. Give yourself a big pat on the back!!! I have always heard that statistics is the hardest class you could ever take. I have avoided it like the plague, LOL!
  15. Eli, go get your fill. I have really struggled with this and have had to really fight with myself over just giving up! But I realize that before I give up I have to go through all the motions, depressed or not. Believe me, I know how hard it is to drag my sorry butt back to the dr and fess up that I haven't been losing weight. But that's exactly what we have to do in order to get our bands to work for us! Hang in there and go get your fill.
  16. You know, I just read an article that brought up the possibility of soy in our diets being a link to our obesity problem in the US. It wasn't grounded with any research data. It was purely speculation, but it was enough to make one wonder...
  17. Actually, I was told by my dr. that there is some debate on whether or not to drink while eating. It has not been proven that drinking while eating is a bad thing or vice versa. I guess the jury is still out, so to speak. Having said that, I really do try to not drink while eating. If I get really thirsty, I will take a sip or two, though. And when I go out to eat I try to guzzle my beverage before the food comes and I don't let the waiter refill the glass.
  18. Wow! You DID do good, girl!!! I told my dh he better not come home with a big box of chocolates, so he gave me a Baby Ruth Bar instead, LOL!!!
  19. Kathy, you just wouldn't believe how much Denton has changed in the last 5 years alone! It has gone from sleepy little college town to a full fledge suburb with traffic snarls everywhere and frustrated residents. I long for what it used to be. And, OMG!!! UNT just keeps building and building! And so does TWU. Yep, if you come back to Denton, you will definitely feel a little lost, LOL! LOL! Marie, you're being WAY too optimistic with the whistles!!! I'm voting Michelle gets the first whistle! Girl, your new avatar is so cute and I love the new hairstyle!!!
  20. My job requires me to be a mentor to a secretary at a lower level in our department. It just so happens that not only is she super MO, she is also not the brightest bunny in the forest. Mentoring her is my most difficult job task! I feel disgusted every time I have a conversation with her, then I feel disgusted with myself for feeling disgusted with her! I have to really make an effort to carry on a conversation with her at her level, all the while hating her for making me feel so bad about myself. Other people say really mean things about her to me all the time and I laugh and go along with them. How screwed up is that!!! I know I should be feeling compassion for her, but somehow I just can't. And, of course that just makes me feel disgusted with myself again. It really is a viscious circle.
  21. Brenda, I'm glad to hear you are all fixed up and on the mend! Sorry you had to go through such an ordeal.
  22. Hope everyone had a LOVELY day! Kisses right back atcha, Sammy!!!
  23. I am currently at 3cc's and still have only a little restriction. Going for my 4th fill tomorrow!!! My dr looks at me weird, too! I don't think he believes my when I tell him how little restriction I have.
  24. Good for you, Kevin!!! Give yourself some healing time, you can be superman later.
  25. Thanks ya'll! Paula, I have some restriction but I don't think I am really where I need to be, yet. I think I need just a tad more. I want to get another fill, but I so don't wanna have to fight my dr about it and I know I will have to. He's pretty new to this lapband thing and I think I kinda freaked him out by already having 3cc's. Oh well, I guess I will call next week. I will have to talk to his patient coordinator to schedule the appointment and every time I have done that she's like "Um....well, what kind of food are you eating?" to which I always answer Real Food. Then she says, "Well, um...you're not eating like...chicken fried steak are you?" I just wanna smack her when she says that! I think this time I will answer, Hell yes! And it's not IF I have eaten chicken fried steak, but how the hell MUCH of it I can eat!!! LOL! Yes, I finally ate the forbidden chicken fried steak last weekend and let me tell you it was wonderful! Anybody visiting the North Texas area should really look up Babe's Fried Chicken Restuarant. It's an experience you won't soon forget!
