Mental Health Issues to Ponder... Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting weak? Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough? Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet? Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle? Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection? Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard? Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him? Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"? If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes? Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white? Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale? Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized? Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance? Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end you first try? How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures? When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's all right?" Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over? In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat? How come you never hear father-in-law jokes? If at first you don't succeed, shouldn't you try doing it like your wife told you to do it? And obviously if at first you don't succeed, then don't take up sky diving! And my FAVORITE...... The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends, if they're okay, then it's you.
  3. LOL, Marie!!! That was the one I was gonna post!
  4. Well, I am late to this thread, but just wanted to put my 2 cents in, LOL! I buy fairly expensive bras and I want them to last a good long time so I hang em up to dry. Now if my dh does the laundry he always puts em in the dryer. Am I gonna complain? HELL NO, HE DID THE LAUNDRY!!! Ryan, you just keep right on doing what you were doing. Becky should be proud that her dear friend has a husband who is so willing to do all the things you do. Shame on her!!!
  5. Wow, what an ordeal!!!! I am so sorry you went through that. Hope you have healed completely and have no lingering complications.
  6. WARNING!!! Avoid Big Sneezes right after surgery! I got home from the hospital and had a sneezing fit. Three big, fast sneezes right in a row. Thought I was gonna pass out for sure!!! It happened so fast I couldn't even grab a pillow to hold over my tummy. Now, sneezes are no big deal.
  7. Penni, thanks so much for the update! WTG, GeezerSue!!!! So glad you're not in pain. Hope you have an uneventful recovery.
  8. Good luck, Vines!!! You''ll do great! I am always a nervouse wreck when it comes to exams!
  9. lighthouse, you may be just a tad overfilled. If you are frequently throwing up, you should contact your dr right away!
  10. You Go, Girl!!! So glad everything went well. We're gonna want all the details when you feel up to it!
  11. Best of luck, Brenda! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
  12. I just passed a co-worker that I don't see on a daily basis in the hallway. She looked at me and smiled and said Have you lost weight? I hugged her neck!
  13. Hey, did you know baggy britches are a double NSV? 1. Your britches are baggy and comfy and 2. Your tummy actually goes on the INSIDE of your britches instead of hanging over the outside! Double Whammy!!!

Welcome Brenda! Come on in and join the fun!
  15. Good luck, Rachel! Let us know how it went...
  16. Kevin, did I mention I'll be building a house soon....?
  17. Overnight. No choice, my dr just required it. However, like Marie, I was glad I did just for the reassurance of having professional care. My nurses were wonderful, and from what they told me, my dr was calling to monitor me on a regular basis when he wasn't actually there.
  18. I googled water aerobics and came up with all sorts of websites offering equipment and videos. You girls with pools are sooooo lucky!!!
  19. WooHoo! That first step is always the biggest! Congratulations!!!
  20. Trish, I'm glad you decided to stick with the band. It is a tough decision to make, but you are the only one who can make it. In my opinion, since babies are your goal, a healthy weightloss = a healthy body = a health baby. Best of luck to you!
  21. Well, Becky you have to pass by me to get to Betty, so could you stop by and pick me up too?
  22. I've been getting the hiccups quite a lot lately, but it always happens several minutes AFTER I eat. Must be a delayed reaction, LOL!
  23. I'llsucceed, I'm glad you said that! Now I don't feel so weird anymore, LOL!!! Can't wait to get my new scales so I can figure out how much I really weigh. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 215 was correct!!!
  24. Betty, I still don't get signals until its too late, too. Also, I am having a hard time figuring out what full feels like. I only know stuffed!
  25. Kevin, ease up a little! You just had surgery!!! Listen to Mrs. Kevin, she knows what she's talking about.
