  1. That is awesome! Thanks for the share!
  2. Hello! I also went through my insurance, my requirements were 6 moths of supervised visits with a nutritionist and nurse along with a Psyc evaluation. After I finished all my requirements they put in my paperwork for approval, they told me it would take 30-60days to hear back from the insurance, it only took 9 days. So about 9 months from my first real visit with the Doc. Every insurance is different so requirements may vary. Best of Wishes to you!
  3. Excited for the both of you!!!! Tomorrow is the big day and Thursday as well!! Woo hoo!
  4. Hey! I'm being banded July 22nd! I'm jealous you don't have a pre-op diet haha! I'm on mine right now. SO far this is what I have gotten from people around here, and of course all my consultants. Gas-X strips is the number one thing I've been hearing about, make sure you have some for after surgery, A heating pad and make sure you have all of your after surgery liquids! Hopefully the next two weeks go by quickly for the both of us! July banders! I can't wait to hear how everything goes!
  5. Awesome Job! Woo hoo! Enjoyed this!
  6. I planned on asking the very same question! I'm a sleep all over the place an on every side type of person so I was worried about this. Thanks for sharing the question, and being able to read everyone's insight!
  7. I hate being hot but being cold and not being able to warm up is just as bad! Haha I'm constantly going from hot to cold in a matter of minutes! Hope you stay warm at work and cool everywhere else!!
  8. Awesome job! Just shows that when you follow the rules we can all be successful! Excited for my surgery! Thanks for sharing, and your daughter is adorable!!
  9. I have surgery in 2 weeks! I'm still on pre-op diet but I'm still trying to exercise. After speaking with a personal trainer, my doctors etc. I was till not motivated. After thinking about things that I like to do that are still considered exercising I decided to try some of them. I've been swimming and dancing. Swimming at the gym and dancing at my house (just so I don't scare anyone with my crazy moves) haha Also maybe once we start losing the weight we will become more motivated to exercise in a regular sense! Best Wishes and hope all goes well next week!!!
  10. I've grown to love PB! I tried Greek Yogurt today for the first time and I about died. I'm not sure what it is about any type of yogurt but I can't handle it. I do love PB now, as a kid I didn't so much! I'm going to have to look for the personal portioned cups, feel like it would help so I don't eat too much Thanks!
  11. Ooohhh sounds good! I will have to look it up! Thanks for sharing!
  12. Day 2 here with my pre-op diet! I'm really hoping I will be where you guys are at soon because it is a little stressful! I'm not so much hungry, but more used to eating, its all in my brain!! My surgery is the 22nd. SUPER excited!
  13. I see where you are coming from, Anxiety can be a nasty thing. Can hinder a lot, so I would say the same as others... maybe set an apt with the Doc and see if that helps. I'm sorry you are going through this, just added stress! Hope you start feeling better soon and get back to your normal self soon! Best Wishes! Let us know how you are doing!!!!!
  14. Aww man, I'm so sorry you are feeling like that. I'd say the best thing is consult your Doc. I'm not sure what is normal and abnormal but I would for sure call and see. I really hope you start feeling better soon and get everything is taken care of!
  15. I use Premiere, Muscle Milk and Isopure. Premiere is what they offered at my doctor's office and its not bad. Muscle Milk does taste good. Someone on here told me that GNC lets you try different shakes before you buy, and when you mention Lap-Band, they know exactly which one fall in the Protein, Calorie, and Sugar requirements from the Doc.
  16. I can relate to you, it is hard being overweight your entire life and then having to tell people what you plan on doing about it. I did keep it between my family and I and a few close friends. Regardless of what you tell people, I'm happy for you. I'm happy that you are getting the surgery to better your self. Maybe once you start losing the weight and people can see how this can only benefit you, as long as we follow orders, then they will come to their own understanding. I wish you all the best, I know how exciting this can all be, anxious, nervous, and all the other emotions that come with it! You will be looking and feeling amazing and can just brush off all the negative things people have to say. Best Wishes to your success.
  17. Maybe try checking with a Lap Band Doctor who offers payments. My doctor does payments but I was ultimately covered by insurance. I'd say keep doing research.
  18. The True Results that I went through did have loan options and low monthly payments etc. For sure check them out!
  19. My time trying to get approved with insurance has been about 1.5 years. After jumping through hoops I was finally approved. Also I went through True Results that say they are experts in working with insurance. I'd see if there is one in your area maybe they can help you. Hope everything works out, I understand the need for the surgery as I have felt the same the last 1.5 years. So hopefully if its insurance or self pay you will be on your way soon! Best wishes!
  20. It was long, but I REALLY appreciated it! Great share! It was great listening to him and getting to hear a different opinion. Thanks again!!!
  21. Awesome! So happy for you! I can relate to the "fat shirts" I can't wait to be where you are!! Thanks for sharing!
  22. Hey! My doctor is a little more strict but I started my diet this morning. Found myself more hungry when I was around others eating. I had to make food for others and that was a little hard but I just followed the rules. I wasn't dizzy, but it is just the first day. I did take it slow with my soup, savored every bite! haha! Best Wishes!
  23. I'm on my pre-op diet as well!! Today was hard! Not AS hard as I thought but I got up once and went to the kitchen to get some crisps... then I realized.. WHAT?!?! It was a habit, I didn't even know and wasn't even hungry. I didn't have any but man was it hard. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!
  24. Awww I have not run into this yet but I hope everything is okay!
  25. Great job! I can't wait to be there! Congrats and keep up the good work!!!!
