  6. Surgery in 5 days and couldn't be more excited! I've been patiently waiting for he 22nd to come around for a while now! Question though for the ones who have been banded earlier in July. What Brand BM softener do you recommend? I have gas-x strips from pain that I already bought but I want to be prepared for after surgery as much as I can be! I'm so excited that there is so many people being banded in July! I love the support! Xx
  7. I'm on my liquid diet right now! 8 days in and feeling great! Already lost 11 pounds! We are July band buddies! Best wishes!
  8. That is wonderful to hear! SO excited for you and that is awesome that the new job has a gym onsite, I'm a little jealous! Can't wait to hear how everything goes! : D
  9. Mine is 14 days! I don't know if I could handle anymore than 2 weeks! haha
  10. Thanks! I got a chance to speak to some of the nurses today and they were all very nice and helpful! Thanks for the positive thoughts!
  11. No it does help!!! I just wanted a general idea of what I would be feeling like once I woke up and just to know that it is normal to feel anxiety about the surgery! Thanks!
  12. You are looking wonderful! So excited for you!
  13. I had my Pre-Op appointment today and I've lost 11 pounds in a week! I have surgery in 6 days and sat down the with attending nurse today and she was super sweet. I wasn't prepared for the long 2 hour visit though. The only thing I'm a little uneasy about is after I had my blood work done they also checked my pressure and it was really high. I've never had high blood pressure before but the nurse seemed worried and it worried me. In the end it was a good visit and I have everything set for Monday. My surgery is at 07:30am. I do have one question for you all though, how were you when you woke up from surgery? My mom has issues with waking up, she usually stays a day or so after surgeries because she takes it hard. I know everyone is different I just hope I don't have any issues. In the end this is all just me venting because I'm nervous. I'm excited and happy for myself and everyone else being banded in the next couple months!
  14. Woo hoo! Excited for you!
  15. I'm glad you are feeling great! Also, I bet it was an amazing feeling that people noticed. 24lbs might not seem like a lot to other people, but it is something amazing! Keep up the good work!
  16. So happy for you! You go girl! Keep up the good work!!!
  17. I'm so happy that you are so close to getting approved! During my wait time I tried to prepare myself for surgery. Went and got all the items for after surgery... but in the end I really wanted to try an NOT think of it. I dance for fun and that kept me busy but it feels like a life time but in a months time you will be preparing for surgery and this will ll be in the past! I hope the approval is quick and you can be on your way!
  18. Exactly! This is where I feel comfortable sharing my ups and downs!
  19. Hmmm maybe you should put something personal to you or funny! Also that is great and exciting news! I can't wait to be where you are! I know there is a marathon runner/walker inside of me somewhere! Let us know what you decide!
  20. My imaginary boyfriend has no idea. ;D Anyways, yes this is a place for me to come and ask questions, give my opinion and feel comfortable. This is the only place that I feel comfortable putting my weight and body pictures on display because I know you call all relate and won't judge. The only other people that know my weight are my doctor and nurses and sometimes that even makes me feel uncomfortable. I like this being just my place and not my friends or family being involved. Sometimes I will be so happy and express someone's journey in my own word because it is encouraging but other than that its just me!
  21. I have UHC and they paid for all my consults with True Results (6 month mandated visits) They also covered all my tests including EKG, Sleep Study etc. They only thing I had to pay out of pocket for was my Psych Evaluation which was 250. They are also paying for my surgery. What plan do you have? I have known that depending on which plan UHC will cover a lot and then other times nothing but the surgery etc. Let us know how the consultation goes today!
  22. The first few months into my program I wasn't losing anything. My nurses were always upbeat and never really worried about the number and just worried about if I was trying to make changes. I started to listen to them and in the end only lost a small bit, but it shows just how much more I needed WLS to help me. I was approved in just a few days after sending out paper work. Don't stress, it is really just a process to learn as much as you can and prepare your self for the band. The more you learn, the more you will put it to use and even if you just lose a few pounds.. that's one step closer! I'm sorry you are having to go through all this but just keep your best foot forward and you will do great! Keep it going girl!
  23. First off I think it is amazing that you have done so well on your own... can you only imagine what you will be able to do with a tool like the band? In the end it is your decision to choose but think of all the positives you will gain. You must already have great self control to have lost what you have and I think you will do great with the band. Granted there is some down time after surgery but I think with the will power and strength you have.. you will be on your feet losing that 80 pounds you have left! Best wishes to whatever you decide but remember you have many people on here to support you either way!!!
  24. AWESOM! So excited! I have UHC as well, they responded pretty quickly too! I'm not on the 31st but the 22nd (7 days) so were July buddies! Congratulations! Super excited for you!
  25. Looking great and feeling even better I guess! Congratulations! Good for you, we all fall sometimes but I'm glad that you pushed through it and jumped back on the wagon!
