m.simpson88 got a reaction from MammaJamma42 in Has anyone had lapband with plication
I had lapband w/ plication and a hernia repair in July. I slept in a recliner with a small pillow pushed slightly under and over my left side where the port is. I ended staying in the recliner for the first 10 days because when I tried to get in my bed it just hurt way to much.

    saggy is as saggy does
and i agree with miss and others.....def take sag over how tight/super obese that i was...which meant me not moving..
just this past weekend, i got down on myself..i looked in mirror after i got out of tan bed and saw the frontal view and saw my legs and did a major ick factor.....and got very sad/depressed and i started thinking of how much i have lost.......and was thinking i have done well and seeing those giant tree trunks with the skin hanging got to me...
in my past, i would have had a major binge on drive thru items followed by alot of beer and even more self whine as*s pity..and say i cant do this and why why why......but i just went and did my step aerobics class, pushed myself harder and got on with it..
i will happily take what i am right now......over what i was in green in june 2012, size 30 pants to now 16...and if that includes alot of sag, then it does....its slowly getting smaller and i can live with that...i dont like it much and if i am able to have surgery later on, i will welcome it but i wont let it define me and who i am

    ok, nuff preaching.....
sag or not, we all are GORGEOUS
and whomever dont like it can look the other way and F*k off..

I was extremely nauseas for 4 days after surgery so I drank mint herb tea with honey and lemon ginger herb tea with honey it also helped soothe my throat. I also used an ice pack on my port and it helped with the muscle pain. Good luck!

Is that I keep having to microwave my food because it's getting cold!!! I eat so slowly and the food just doesn't stay warm! Ok, it's not really a problem, but it's the only problem I am having so far! And you know what's not a problem???? Seeing the numbers on the scale get smaller and smaller! I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!

Today I completed the 8week program! Not quite to a 5k yet, but I ran the times the program required. Ran for 30mins straight today never thought I would see the day. Huge NSV for this girl. On to the 10k program next.
    To be continued...

Just an FYI, I just had all my bloodwork done and it's good. My cholesterol is good and my mom, who's a nurse, said, I'm a little surprised with all of the cheese you eat! Lol.

m.simpson88 got a reaction from Bandista in Depressed
I felt the same way about 3-4 days post op but I promise it gets better. Your body had lots of medicine and the anesthesia so it is hard to go to the bathroom for the first couple weeks after surgery but again it will get better! You need to eat or drink your Soups so your body has fuel to heal. Just take it slow. Within a few weeks you will no longer doubt yourself for having this surgery! Chin up it all gets better! Make sure to sip your Water it is very important to get it in.

That's just one person. And I totally understand it stung hearing that. But the only person that makes a real difference in your life is you.
My dad told me long ago when some girls that were my "friends" hurt my feelings - "were they important in your life two years ago? Will they be part of your life in 20 yrs?" "Only you are going to be part of your life every single minute. You're the one that counts."
Believe in yourself. I believe you can.

See and that is what blows my mind. He's a 2 year old. What and how much this child eats is 100% up to the parents. It's not like this is a 10 year old capable of sneaking food or getting their own Snacks. This is a toddler who completely relies on his parents' care. There is ZERO reason putting the child on a healthy diet shouldn't have worked- it's the parents who have failed this child miserably.

I knew it was not necessarily what I ate but the amount. I am glad It happened because now I know. I can not say there will never be a next time but at least I can tell myself "you know what happens when you over do it." So I can put my fork/spoon down and know I am satisfied.

All went well this morning with the procedure, no cancer, nothing, all looked good, whew! I was a happy camper since my brother is battling colon cancer and a tumor in his belly but feeling blessed at the same time. I know my obesity can attribute to cancer and having lap band a little over a yr ago has certainly helped with my obesity. Glad its all over with.

So I was 451 when I first started my pre-op diet and I went to wal-mart to buy a scale and the maximum weight they went up to was 445lbs so I bought it and every so often I'd weigh myself at home and it said "ol" for over load or oh lord which ever you prefer (lol). But today I weighed myself and it said 442.7.....I'm soooo excited I measured myself twice just to be sure it was right and it Steal read the same thing.....this made my day let's Celebrate with a fat free, sugar free, gluten free, popsicle!!

Sorry for the late response, I am feeling much better. I can't keep any Protein Shake or drink down and I can't keep broth down. Makes me so sick. I also ended up with an upper respiratory infection. I am eating very soft puréed foods thinned out. And finally feel like this was all worth it. I felt so bad that I was getting onto myself because I chose to do this.

Buy if you want something you have to work for it.

Today is day two of the pre op diet and I hope it is much easier than day 1. The terrible headache and stomach growling and irritableness doesn't work when working 12 hour shifts. I will make it through because I only have 4 days left to get to surgery. I am not much of a chips eater but yesterday at work it seemed like everyone was eating potato chips, Cheetos, Doritos and all I could do was drink Water and Soup. I wanted those chips!

My surgery is on the 23rd and I am also doing a 5 day liquid diet. My surgeons office emailed me a pre and post op diet plan. I would start on a liquid diet a just call your surgeons office early tomorrow morning and see what they have to say.
