How much not to stretch your band?
I know I've seen on here the right amount of food to have at a meal so as not to over eat or stretch your band, but i can't remember. My Dr. does not limit calories or anything. He says to just eat healthy and the band will take care of the rest. But I need a guideline or I'll eat to much. So it was something like 4 oz of Protein, 1/2 cup vegi's and 1/4 cup of starch is that right? If not can you correct me? ~~~Stephanie

Need a fill :(
I get my first fill tomorrow, I was banded on the 28th of May. I am so hungry. I've lost 15 pounds, but that's including pre and post-op, so I am ready to get a fill and see what happens. Hopefully I'll get some restriction and same for you. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

LBS and hiatal hernia fixed at the same time
They found my hiatal hernia at the time of surgery and fixed it. The Dr.said I may have some tightness in my chest which I did, but other than that It wasn't that bad at all I don't think it made that much difference, but I've never had the LB surgery by itself. I did not have a problem. ~~~Stephanie

Wow...cattle call anyone?
I'm so sorry for your inconvenience. I do know that not all True Results are run the same. Which I thought was weird, they have different was of doing most everything. At least I found that to be true here in Texas I don't know if you can switch to a different office . Hopefully they are just having a bad day and will make it up to you. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

I need some tips...
I need to know if y'all have any tips on being able to tell the difference between head hunger and belly hunger. I get a fill on Wednesday, and my Dr. does not have me on any calorie restrictions, but I'm going to have to limit myself anyway because I know how I am. So I'm hoping y'all have some tips . ~~~Stephanie

Pre-Op Shakes are AWFUL!
Check on Bariacric Advantage Meal Replacement shakes. My dr. recommended them as his first choice. Maybe they would work for you. They have 27 grams of Protein. You can find them at Bariactric Advantage.com. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

Fill?
Wednesday I am suppose to go in for a fill. I'm still on soft foods. My question is that for the most part I've been able to handle all the soft foods, I just noticed that I had a small problem with fish and then re-fried Beans once. I think I hate to much at one time or took to big of a bite I think. It felt like it was slowly going down my esophagus it was like I had to burp but if I did food would come up, but I never burped it went down. I am hungry most of the time though. So I was just wondering can you still get a fill if you've had trouble like that, but your still not staying full for 3 or 4 hrs? I just did not want to get a fill if it was going to cause more problems. My Dr. uses fluoroscope will that make a difference in determining whether or not I need a fill? ~~~Stephanie

I have the realize band but my doctor no longer will use it!
Oh great, that what I just had put in. It was a 10cc Realize band. Do you have any statistics on the Reallize band and it being harder to get fills and all? And did that contribute to your band moving to the bottom of your esophagus? Would like to read up on it if you do. ~~~Stephanie

Day 9... IDK how I feel today
You could try some meclizine it is in Dramamine, but there are two different types make sure you get the one with the ingredient meclizine in it. It is for dizziness and it won't make you tired if you get the right one. At least it never did me. I think it says non-drowsy. I have vertigo so I take it for the dizziness. If you can't find the Dramamine with it the other anti-dizzy meds should have it, just look at the ingredients. Hope you feel better. If your really desperate you could get any of the anti-dizzy meds, I just suggest meclizine because it is what the Dr.'s prescribe, and it works the best. ~~~Stephanie

3 weeks post op
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 3 weeks post -op and my fill is on Wednesday. I am so hungry now. I am having a hard time just trying not to eat over 1400 calories. I gave myself some slack since I was so hungry and at the same time trying to control it so it does not get out of control and I gain more weight than I've lost. But boy is it hard. Good luck with your fill ~~~Stephanie

Day 4 - Very bad gas and Nausea
I think I read on a post awhile back that flying can tighten your band, so that could be why your having trouble drinking. I guess you were cleared for flying after surgery, but I know it can take a toll on the body. Maybe you could look up some information on the internet. It could just be your tired and did to much with the flying and all. I know I felt real good about the 3rd day and went to the store and it was a mistake. I just did to much to soon. Make sure you keep sipping Water like everybody says and get some rest you should start feeling better each day if not call the Dr. ~~~Stephanie

Feeling sick
Did they give you any nausea pills. If not call your dr, and see if they will call you some in. In the mean time some peppermint tea is suppose to help with nausea. Good luck. My dr .gave me the pills before I went home from the hospital. So they should be willing to give you some, they don't want you throwing up with the band, ~~~Stephanie

Calories intake
I think everybody is told different amounts by their Dr. Like mine does not restrict my calories, he says to just eat healthy and the band will take car of the rest. I don't know if I am comfortable with that,I'm just 3 weeks out from surgery, so we will just have to see. As far as calories I have usually seen on here anywhere from 800 to 1200. I think it just depends on you and you metabolism, how much you exercise, and how fast your trying to lose. When I have watched my calories before the band it was 1200 to 1400. But that was before the band. I'll probably have to count calories despite what my Dr. says because I can easily over eat. Good luck. ~~~Stephanie
