Boob pressing on incision - anyone else have this?
I had the same problem. I was able to wear a wire bra and it lifted my boobs off of the incision. Luckily the wire sat higher than the incision. My boobs sat to low with a regular bra or by themselves they were real bad too. I guess it just depends on your anatomy and where the incision is. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

Soft spot
I have wondered if it has anything to do with the vegus nerve. Maybe when we eat to a certain point it applies more pressure to the nerve and depending on what spot of the nerve is touched it effects that corresponding area. Just a thought, I don't know for sure how it works. ~~~Stephanie

Satisfied vs Full
Sorry, I know this has probably been posted a 100 times but I had no luck searching for it. So I guess I'm just going to have to ask . I am having a problem understanding how to know when am satisfied instead of full. I only know when I feel full. I don't know how to tell when I am just satisfied. Is there a feeling that would let me know? Can anyone help me figure out how to tell when I am satisfied? Right know I am just measuring out 4 oz of Protein, 1/2 cup vegi's,and 1/2 cup complex carbs. I am eating that till I finish the plate, and I usually I feel full. In between my meals I think I get hungry, but I can't tell for sure. I'm just forcing myself to stay at 1200 calories a day and the weight loss is slow going. I have my second fill coming up next week, I am trying to figure this out so I'll be ready when I hit the green zone. Thanks in advance. ~~~Stephanie

I'm Kicking Myself
Wow, so sorry things are not going well for you. I've only been banded 6 weeks, no problems so far, but I do know it is possible for me to be in your shoes. I sure hope not though. Just wanted to extend my sympathy to you and hope that things will turn around for you. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

Im banded as of 7/11
To help with the shoulder pain you can use a heating pad it really helps. You can also use the heating pad where ever you have your gas pain too. ~~~Stephanie

Do you burp a lot?
From what I've read, that is completely normal. I burp more often and louder than I use to and according to the post I've read it is common. Your right it probably is your soft stop also. ~~~Stephanie
-
How do your other doctors feel about you tting the lapband?
My PCP, Cardiologist, and ObGyn were very supportive and excited about me getting the lap-band. ~~~Stephanie

Realize Band
I have the Realize Band, the Doc didn't give me a choice, but I do know that they use the Realize Band 10cc and 15cc, I received the 10cc band. He based his decision on my anatomy. I did get restriction by my first fill, the nurse said it was because he used the 10cc band instead of the 15cc which he usually uses, they usually see restriction with the 15cc around fill 3 or 4. I'm only 6 weeks out, but I have had no problems. ~~~Stephanie

Port Pain
I had the same thing happen to me. My port sits in between my wire bra and the band of my pants so when I sit down I have to be real careful. It started a few days after I was banded and has slowly gotten better it has been about six weeks now and I just have to watch if I bend over when I am sitting. My Dr. said it was normal it is just the port, and should get better with time. Sometimes I have to undue my pants.Lol That may be the same thing going on with you. ~~~Stephanie

Dizziness
I have read some other post of people experiencing dizziness post-op, seems to usually have to do with the lack of food and it normally gets better after you start eating more. That's not to say that is your problem though it is always good to discuss stuff like this with your dr. especially if it keeps up. You could also try over the counter medicine called Dramamine get the one that contains meclazine(sp?). It is good for dizziness, vertigo. and sea sickness. But like I said talk to your Doc if it keeps up. ~~~Stephanie

Pre op weight loss
I only lost 2 pounds in my 1 week pre-op diet and I did not cheat. So I guess it is different for everybody. Sounds to me like your doing good. ~~~Stephanie

I'm just not understanding the food part of all this.
It's about a cup of food at each meal or about 4oz lean Protein, 1/2 cup vegi's, and 1/2 cup complex carbs. Make sure you start with your protein then move on to your vegi's and finish with your complex carbs. Stop eating when your full though, just make sure your getting in your lean protein which is 60 to 80 grams a day. Hope that helps some. ~~~Stephanie

Stretched pouch
As far as your question pertaining to a pre-fill most Dr.'s won't put in any amount of Fluid at the time of surgery, but some Dr.'s do. So the only one that can answer if you had any fluid put in at your surgery would be your Doc or nurse. Hope that is what you were talking about. ~~~Stephanie

3 years post band
I think they will represent what the topic is about. You type in words that represent what your topic is about and if someone searches using one of those words they will find your topic. Don't hold me to that but that is what I think it is. It will help people find topics they want to read about. ~~~Stephanie

Going on vacation....need help!
You could pack some yogurt, applesauce, fruit cups. Jello, pudding, deli meats, shredded cheese and your Protein shakes. I was able to eat this stuff on mushie phase so I'm going off of that. Hope this helps. I'm sure there is more but that's all I could think of. ~~~Stephanie

Realize Band Vs Lapband
I know I have a Realize Band. It is a 10cc. How small were you hoping to get? I had heard before my surgery that the Realize Band only came in size 14cc, but that apparently was not true. My Doc uses either a 10cc or 15cc Realize Band depending on the anatomy. Maybe you did get a small one unless you wanted it smaller than 10cc, I don't know if they make one or not. A long time ago there was a 4cc band but I don't believe they use that anymore. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

Bloated and Very Uncomfortable
Same here I was so bloated and could barely get in any liquids. It lasted for about 3 weeks. I only was able to force down my Protein drinks and it was so uncomfortable. I wish you well. This to shall pass . Maybe try some gas-x. ~~~Stephanie

Medications
Unfortunately I have to take baby aspirin for my heart. Both my cardiologist and bariactric Dr.'s said it was Ok, but I still worry about it. Don't know what else to do about it, so I guess I just keep taking it. ~~~Stephanie

Banster Hell!
How many calories are you getting in a day? Did your nutritionist put you on a certain caloric intake? If so did they also tell you how many grams of dense Protein you should be getting in? I need 80 grams of protein a day and I'm a 5'3" woman, as a taller male you would need more and you need the dense protein to help you stay more satisfied and full longer. I have a chart for protein if you want to tell me how tall you are. But you should probably see if you can get this info from your nutritionist. As far as calories and protein needs go. I eat 1200 calories right now because I can still loss weight and if I eat less I'll starve. I need another fill. As a male you can get away with more calories. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

Getting prepared...what protein shakes do you like?
I like Bariactric Advantage Meal Replacement, vanilla flavor and Syntrax nectar, fuzzy navel flavor. They are both very good, not chalky and no after taste. You can find them on BariactricAdvantage.com. Make sure it is BariactricAdvantage.com and not Bariactricchoice.com for some reason the choice one pops up first when you search in google. ~~~Stephanie
