  1. :thumbup:Hi, I had my band fitted in Bromsgrove in Feb this year. I was really pleased to find this site expecting to get help and answers to small questions but no one seems to bother any more which is such a shame. If you check out the american side of this site its buzzing. Oh well, I at least will answer you I have 8 months of experince to pass one as it is never a smooth ride.
  2. Hi Cedar, I guess no one has replied as yours is a fairly unique situation that perhaps no one has any experience of. I can only think about your dilema and say what would I do? I would go kicking and screeming to have the band remove completely. I would have it completely unfilled give it 2 to 3 month see if there is any improvement and then try again to slowly have the band tightened. You may find that after eating such small amounts your stomach has shrunk and your eating habits are now much more sensible. See if you put on wieght during this time if not leave tha band unfilled if you do its worth another try. Best of luck what every you choose. Katieph
  3. Hi, Happened to me this week, after my last fill I kept vomiting, after only 4 mouth fulls of food I was in pain and felt very uncomfortable. Had half a mil removed on Wednesday. Now have hardly any restriction, I am totally confused and getting to a point where I dont understand any of this banding business. Wish I had had the bypass.
  4. Dear Awkward Customer, Reading your post the first thing it did was remind me of myself when I first had my band fitted in Feb. I wanted everything to happen yesterday. I have had five carfully monitored fills to get nearly the right restriction. There is still no guarentee I wont need another but under THG 2 year plan I have a further 19 months of free fills to call upon if needed. I very qickly learned it is not a miracle cure it is still very much down to what you coose to put in your mouth. Diet plays a very big part. I foolishly believed that I could continue to eat my what I enjoyed but because it was a much smaller portion size would automatically loose weight. Believe me once you have the retriction you need you wont want to eat pizza. The dieticians will not give you a cast Iron list of does and donts. The person to decide is yourself. I have found after every fill my choices have changed to fit with what I am able to eat and what works best. Please be patient and work at it, soon it will be second nature and you will loose weight. I have lost 3 stone in 5 months. Kateph
  5. Hi Lgvic, The burping does go away eventually, unless I eat to fast, (I have to agree it is not very lady like).:thumbup: If I have learnt one thing since my band and that is patience (didnt have a lot before) I wanted everything to happen yesterday but 5 fills and 9.75 ml of fill, at last I have a comprehension of what the band is designed to do. Have lost 4 lb in 5 days after my last fill
  6. Hi, I had my op on 18th Feb at Dolan Park, my room was very noisy as it was by the nurses station but apart from that I found the staff very attentive and friendly. I had my xray fill in Droitwich on time and have had 5 band fills, I had no problems getting appointments for fills and get regular dietician appointments with out any problems. The dieticians are not oracles and can only suggest, please remember we are all different with different needs and requirements, what works for one does not always work for others. I was very supprised to read so many negative comments about the THG. I am very pleased with the after service I had got what it said on the can. Katieph
  7. Thanks for the advice, I am sure I am sticking to 1000 calories, like most of us I have been on diets all of my life so counting calories, points, fats etc have become experts at it, but I have started to make a diary of everthing I eat daily. I have upped my calories to 1200, and have a daily treat, it has not helped as yet with the weight loss but it makes me feel better.
  8. I had my surgery on 28th Feb 2010, I have lost 2 1/2 stone so far. I have had three fills and currently have 9ml but the restriction only seems to only last for max 7 days. I have gone a whole month and put on 1 lb working on 1000 calories per day. (I have started aerobics and swimming three times a week) The big question I am asking myself is does the band really work and was it all really worth it?? I would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions should I get a further fill. Katie
