Anybody start with an excessive amount to lose?
From my highest weight to my goal weight I have about 154lbs to lose. As of this morning, I am down 20.6. There are sooo many successful folks on this site, many whom have lost triple digits. Very inspirational. You should also check under the "success stories" area. I go there and read the posts/look at pics whenever I am doubting myself... Our fellow LBTers are simply AMAZING! Hope this helps!

I'm officially in limbo land. Hurry up and wait!
- It's official!! I'm ba-ba-banded!! :)
When did you have surgery? I can't have mushers until 8/21 and was banded 8/5. I think once you get your fill, you won't be able to eat as much. The schedule the doc gave me is this (times are approx): 7am: 2oz of cream of wheat or yogurt 10am: 2-4 oz of Protein shake 12:30pm: 2oz of Soup or yogurt 3:30pm: 2-4oz of Protein Shake 6:30pm: 2oz of soup or pudding It also states to start with 2oz servings and build up to 4oz- It's official!! I'm ba-ba-banded!! :)
- August 5th!
I had surgery on Monday, so until this morning I was only in Clear liquids (broth, Water, crystal light, etc.) This mining I started phase 2: Protein shakes, ff Greek yogurt, cream of wheat, sf/ff pudding, sf/ff Jello.

Just started this phase today... And will be on it until 8/22. I have sf/ff pudding, Protein shakes, ff greek yogurt, Soups, and cream of wheat in my "arsenal." Would like to see some others ideas? Am wondering if anyone has ever stirred Protein powder into their cream of wheat or pudding?- August 5th!
Going well. Admittedly, I was much more sore and tired than I anticipated. Today is the first day of 'phase 2' of my post-op diet I will say, though, that I am amazed how much better I felt yesterday and today compared to Monday & Tuesday.- It's official!! I'm ba-ba-banded!! :)
I had some cream of wheat for breakfast! And it was glorious! Today starts "phase 2" of my post-op diet. Looking forward to a Protein shake in a bit. How are you guys doing?- It's official!! I'm ba-ba-banded!! :)
Was banded yesterday morning. Totally felt like a truck ran me over, but woke up this morning feeling a bit better... I know once I make it through the next few days, things will start to feel more "normal." I'm surprised (but not complaining!) that I don't have more gas pain (I remember it well from when I had a c-section 3 years ago). Just pain on my left side where my port is. I'm excited for the days to come!- August 5th!
I'm en route to my banding now!! Good luck!- lost 200 pounds
Amazing! Congratulations!- Getting prepared...what protein shakes do you like?
Thanks everyone for all of your comments and suggestions. Just thought I'd let everyone know where I landed... I tried ready to drink muscle milk light - chocolate. It's ok. Isopure in the glass bottle - most flavored I tried were ok. Both this and the muscle milk will be great go-tos when I'm on the road for work. I tried the Nectar brand (lemonade and fuzzy navel). The lemonade is ok, I'm not too crazy about the fuzzy navel. It is nice to have something that's not chocolate, vanilla, etc. I also tried two powder-to-go packets from Nectar as well, vanilla tarte and chocolate. Both, again, are ok but not as thick as the other protein shakes so it felt strange drinking them. Designer whey and EAS I've tried before. Eh. Finally, I got the Unjury starter kit and will try both the chocolate and vanilla today (am doing 2 shakes a day in prep for banding). Kind of excited to try them! Am also going to check out the bariatric foodie cookbook as was recommended on this thread. Thanks again for all of the feedback. You guys are great and I'm so happy I found LBT. I have learned more from this site than I have anywhere else!- Getting prepared...what protein shakes do you like?
Do you have the bariatric foodie cookbook? Is it worthwhile?- August 5th!
I have no formal pre-op plan. I just can't gain wait before surgery. I actually put myself on my own plan starting yesterday (because surgery is two weeks away)... Been doing Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch and having a protest rich dinner. Am hoping this will make the transition easier. I am ready to get this surgery done with already!
