Thanks for that, I can use all the positive feedback I can get to fight this. ~~~Stephanie
  2. It could be just a bout of gas that's causing it. Also if for some reason something hurts the diaphragm it can radiate pain to the left shoulder. I've never heard of constipation causing something like that, but I'm no specialist either. Good luck ~~~Stephanie
  3. It took me about a week on liquids to have a BM. I did not get diarrhea but it was soft. If you think your going to stay constipated and it hurts, a lot of people on here recommend Miralax, it is a stool softener/laxative. But as with anything medical call your Doc first. ~~~Stephanie
  4. I think I have split personalities, I'm not quite two weeks out, but one part of me expects that I should be 50 pounds lighter or something. While the other side knows better. On one hand I am already rethinking my decision, while on the other hand I am happy it has finally came. I am fighting with myself that I have only just begun this journey, and it has not even been 2 weeks. So, I am going back and forth with this junk in my head. I know I need time to heal and then time to get the right fill possibly, but the other side of me is like I'm not eating so I should be dropping weight right?. My husband says my face looks thinner even though the scales not moved. I think a part of me unconsciously expected to much, I think i secretly thought I'd wake up from surgery and be thinner and drop weight as I walked., a pound a day type thing. Consciously and reasonably I know that is not realistic by any means, but i still struggle with that other "personality" in me. I'm still fighting with that part of me that has helped keep me big all this time and has helped me fail in every aspect of losing this extra person I carry around. Maybe that's it, It is like a second person I carry around one that does not want to be pushed away or put aside. But I'm so done with that relationship. I want the thin me to be the only one I carry around. So, to do that I'm going to have to win this fight between my two egos and literally beat the fat out of the fat person in me. So with the help of this group, my Doc's team of professionals, and the thin person in me I will prevail. I have to do this, I have to be successful this time it's the bottom of the ninth with 2 outs, and I up to bat with 2 strikes and 3 balls and this girls not walking or striking out it is a hit I'm going for so I'm going to swing and with help of my new bat (band) I will hit a home run. ~~~Stephanie
  5. I used an ice pack for the first week on my sore incisions. I still am having some sharp pains in my side, and I am almost 2 weeks out. But it has gotten a lot better than it was. It will for you too. If it's not gas it could be constipation? As long as it keeps getting better you should be fine if it does not or if it gets worse maybe you should call your Doc. Good luck ~~~Stephanie
  6. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. ~~~Stephanie

  11. I had my surgery the 28th of May and I just today felt the weight lifted off my chest, I also had a hernia repair. I also don't feel gassy today. But I do still have some pain in my belly, in the muscle area. As far as weight loss I've loss none since surgery they say it is from Water retention and not to worry about weight loss right now, just to focus on healing. Other than that I'm doing good it got a little better each day, but I can say I feel a lot better today. Good luck ~~~Stephanie
  12. As far as being sore I was banded the 28th, I also had a hernia repair and I'm still sore in one area. ~~~Stephanie
  13. I have two separate questions. First I had surgery the 28th of May and I have one spot that is extremely sore but it is not the port site it is between the port site and another incision it is on the right side across from my belly button. It does not hurt to touch it, it hurts to move, breath, or laugh. Does it sound like just a muscle or something I should call the Dr. about? It is not red or swollen and there is no discharge. Second, I am trying not to worry but I have not lost much of anything since the surgery, and being that I'm just on liquids I would have expected to lose something. I know I should be focused on recovery but I was just concerned why I wouldn't loose on just liquids. Is my body just in starvation mode maybe? I was losing when I was eating about 1400 calories a day. It is just weird not to lose on liquids. I'm just drinking my Protein shakes and strained Soups, oatmeal no sugar, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free Popsicle. Is it normal to not lose weight until you get the right fill? ~~~Stephanie
  14. You could start by calling your insurance company to see if they cover lap-band or other WLS's and then ask them if you need a referral from your Primary care doctor. Then ask them who is in your network, and call them. Or you can just go to the seminar and they can answer your questions, like if they except your insurance. Or you can call around to different Bariactric doctors and see if they except your insurance and they would be the ones who file with the insurance. Hope that helps ~~~Stephanie
  15. If your having trouble swallowing sometimes it sounds like you need to call your Dr. ~~~Stephanie
  16. You may want to start taking Miralax it is a stool softener/laxative. It is common to get constipated after surgery, sounds like you need some help in that area. ~~~Stephanie

  18. Hi PrettyThick1, I've been doing Ok, I have been dealing with some nausea I thick I may be drinking to fast. I saw my Doc yesterday and all is well, they put in a 10cc band. I get my first fill on the 19th of June. I'm so tired of the liquids. But since I'm still getting nauseated I don't know if I'll be able to handle mushies on Tuesday, depending on what's causing it. What do you think? ~~~Stephanie
  19. Wishing you the best. Good luck ~~~Stephanie

  23. Does anybody know why when I went to post to a blog it said it would have to go through the moderator for approval? Just never happened before. I'm worried I did something wrong . ~~~Stephanie
  24. Syntrex nectar has some that are juice like flavors. I use fuzzy navel it taste really good. I did not like the Caribbean cooler, it was to coco nutty. But they have a wide variety and you can get sample packs too I believe. You can find them on Bariactric Advantage.com. ~~~Stephanie
  25. Unless your a diabetic there shouldn't be a problem as long as you do everything the Doc. and Nutritionist says. I was worried about the same thing, but the nut (nutritionist) was just concerned if I was diabetic. I had no problems at all on my liquid diet. If your really concerned call your nut and ask them what you do if that happens ~~~Stephanie
