  1. Congrats, that's a lot for less than a month. Way to go. ~~~Stephanie
  2. Welcome, we will be close together then I get banded the 28th which will be Tuesday. Keep us posted on how your doing and feel free to ask any question. ~~~Stephanie
  3. I have not heard of dry brushing, but I have heard of something called Skinny Wraps that people have been talking about. Do not know what it entails, but you can look it up. Seems like a lot of people have had good luck with it. Maybe someone will chime in about it. ~~~Stephanie
  4. If you want you can get the book Choose To Lose- The 7-Day Carb Cycle Solution. I know Mis73 uses it when she hits a plateau and she has lost like 200 pounds. I got the book for future use,I have not yet been banded that happens next Tuesday. Just thought I'd mention it. Good luck. It was only like 10,00 dollars. ~~~Stephanie
  5. Yup, I've received them, got one today. I had one last week contact me through private chat also. Then had some weird person contact me that through private chat. I started chatting and she /he did not know what banding was when I told them and asked if they were getting it they said "why not", and they were not over weight, I don't know what they wanted so I just said I had to go. Weird. ~~~Stephanie
  6. That is way to cool. I bet that felt good. Congrats ~~~Stephanie
  7. If they contacted you like me through private messaging. In the corner down where it says "like this" is a button that says report, you have to put your curser by it or you can barely see it. Otherwise you can PM Alex and give him the info you got in the message ie, email addy, name, stuff like that. ~~~Stephanie
  8. Yea, that's the same one I just received. I reported it, I don't know if that can stop it though. Such a pain. ~~~Stephanie
  9. I'm on my second day as well, my surgery is Tuesday. They say it gets better after the third day. Will see. I'm just keeping myself full with 4 protein shakes, jello, broth, Popsicle, water, and for craving i chew alot of sugar-free gum. That's all I know to do besides also staying busy. I am allowed one protein bar a day too. Good luck ~~~Stephanie
  10. My Dr. and nut are not going to have me on any calorie restriction, they said to eat healthy and the band will take care of the rest. I'm going to school to be a nut and there are "rules" you learn in school, but after that everyone seems to spread off into applying there on beliefs from what they have learned, there not right or wrong there just personal believes that come out of what they have been taught, some people will go by the book though. But you learn about all kinds of different things in school. So you might want to do what jim1967 said and see if your nuts can get together for you. As far as me I'm still going to count calories because I know me and even eating healthy I can over do it calories wise, and I don't want to take a chance and stretch my pouch, and as far as carbs I'm addicted so I can't eat re-fined carbs and I have to measure complex carbs or I'll over do it You'll figure it out. Good luck ~~~Stephanie.
  11. I notice when I eat healthy that I start to crave things like sweets that I would normally never pay no mind. The more refined the carb the worse the craving is. My husband has a real bad sweet tooth, period, and the best way we found to tackle it was fruit it works really well for him. For me I have to stay away from most carbs. I go through withdrawls at first but then after I don't crave sweets anymore. Now head hunger seems to be a different thing. I chew sugar-free.gum or ments for that. Good luck. ~~~Stephanie
  12. Maybe you can try an unflavored Protein powder and add it in to thing you eat, like yogurt, Soups, applesauce, cottage cheese. you can make your own fruit smoothie and put it in that, etc... Good luck.. ~~~Stephanie.
  13. I am soooo excited! Thanks for asking. ~~~Stephanie
  14. Looking good! ~~~Stephanie
  15. Welcome glad you found us. I'll be going in for surgery next Tuesday. It is great to hear from those who have already been there. See you around, and enjoy the rest of your day. ~~~Stephanie
  16. Sounds good, especially because that's all I can have, liquids. So do you just use the crystal light in powder form or is it in liquid form when you add it? ~~~Stephanie
  17. I just started my 1 week pre-op liquid diet today, and my husband and son said they would just leave the house and go eat. I thought that was so thoughtful. I thought I was going to have to go to my room or something or worse yet cook, but he suggested he would just go out and eat, I'm sure that was not that hard of a choice for him , but I still thought he did not have to do it. He said we work something out for the rest of the week. He is really surprising me with how supportive he is being  . Just sharing. Thanks. ~~~Stephanie
  18. I notice that as I loose weight that my libido picks up (this is from past experience I'm not banded yet) but it is like I've been suppressed or something and then as the weight comes off I feel better about myself sexually and I think that has something to do with it. So I can only imagine if I loose most or all the weight. LOL ~~~Stephanie
  19. I've been going back and forth with my decision especially the closer it gets to the surgery date. What keeps me going forward is that I know I will not be able to lose this weight and keep it off based on my past experience just like stated above. If I don't do this I will always be wishing I had just went and done it. So for me there is no other option. Just the option to give this a try,and to do the very best I can to be a success. Good luck with your choice. ~~~Stephanie
  20. Good luck , I'll be right behind you next Tuesday ~~~Stephanie
  21. Seems weird I have read a blog and a post about the same thing today, interesting. I'm just on my pre-op so I don't know what I will be feeling when I lose the weight. I do know that we put on the weight for many different reasons and one of them are for security even though we may have felt insecure with the weight. So when we start to lose weight we become really insecure. We can bet ourselves up, not take complements well, not like attention especially from men or vice versa. We can eventually put the weight back on if we don't come to term with what's going on. I know I put on the weight to not get attention from men because I was afraid of cheating on my husband when we started having trouble in our marriage. But sense then I've become more secure in my relationship so I'm hoping that won't be a problem when I lose weight, I guess will see. Anyway I don't know if this helped at all, but it just got me thinking being that I've seen the topic three times this morning. Good luck. ~~~Stephanie
  22. I was curious what the thoughts are of people with the lap-band or anyone really, but what you all think about the lap-band and the big likely hood of having to have a revision or it just plan removed. Basically the fact that it does not seem to last forever. Did you know this when you made your decision or did you find out later? Would you do the same thing or would you do it differently? Do you have any advice for someone contemplating the band? So far I've decided to go with the band anyway, my insurance will cover having it taken out if there is a complication. I'm going to bring it up to the Dr. though. I'm just tossing around the idea of whether or not my thinking is right. I'm thinking I don't want my insides re-routed or cut up and I like the fact that it can be adjusted as you need, although I would do plication but they don't offer it, I'm looking at that possibility of it happening anyway in the future, but I'm thinking they'll maybe know more by then, and there will be different options. What do ya'll think? ~~~Stephanie
  23. My pre-op appointment is Thursday. If yours is like mine you should be getting last minute blood work and paper work and any test the Dr. may want. That's mine anyway. ~~~Stephanie
  24. Good luck, and let us know how your doing when you get out. I go next Tuesday for by banding. ~~~Stephanie
  25. Congrats, good job, keep it up! ~~~Stephanie
