  1. I am two weeks post-op and like you I almost fell in the kitchen the other day and since then have had a sharp pain when I twist or turn or bend it is on my right side. I'm a nervous nelly about it, but it seems to be getting better each day. Maybe it's the same for you, it will get better each day. If it gets worse I guess you should call the Doc. ~~~Stephanie
  2. I think I have been putting to much on my stomach. Ever since the surgery I have been bloated and could not tell gas from full. But now that I've started mushies and It's been 2 weeks and the gas is gone I can tell I was pushing it to far. Now that I started mushies I actually measured out a cup and chewed thoroughly and took 20 min to eat and can tell a difference. I think I'm going to have to cut back because I still got uncomfortable at about 30 min.I'm not noticing any soft stops yet. If this keeps up I won't need a fill on the 19th, but things can change by then. When I talked to the Dr. at a week post-op he basically said I could not have any restriction at this point without a fill. I mentioned it because of the bloating I was having. Do you think this sound like restriction or just gas? I need to know so I can go up against the Dr. if need be. I don't want a fill if I don't need one. How do I know? I am staying full for 4 hrs. and I mean full, full for about 3 of those. Hope this makes sense. BTW he said I was just getting use to the feeling of the band. Like wearing a belt for the first time. But if that the case the belts to tight.LOL ~~~Stephanie
  3. Was the contrast really bad? I get my first fill on the 19th of June. I'm excited but concerned about how bad it taste. Also I don't know how aggressive he is about fills. So will just have to wait and see. Wish you the best of luck with yours. ~~~Stephanie
  4. Maybe you could look up foods on the internet that contain more sodium naturally, like for instance celery is higher in sodium than you would think. Did they give you an amount of sodium that you would need a day? That would be helpful if they did. you could track it on .MFP.(my fitness pal.com) ~~~Stephanie
  5. I goggled how many calories are in baby back ribs and one choice that popped up was Texas Roadhouse Baby Back Ribs half rack. One serving which I'm guessing is half a rack because it was wrote just like that, they did not specify anything else. It was 562 calories. That might help give you some idea. ~~~Stephanie
  6. I was like gowalking, they would have had me do the treadmill but I have a torn meniscus in my knee, so they did a chemical stress test. I was so glad. But then they found something and that's a whole other story. It cost me 3 months. ~~~Stephanie
  7. I 'm so bummed for you. I just got my surgery 2 weeks ago and I'm suppose to have my first fill on the 19th. I'm so worried about my band/port because I almost fell in my kitchen a week out from surgery. and I hurt my stomach, not were anything is at but still close enough to worry. So sorry you've got to go back through a procedure and wait some more. ~~~Stephanie
  8. I was banded 2 weeks ago and though the left shoulder pain and gas pains went away a week ago I am still dealing with bloating especially when I eat or drink anything. Hope it goes away soon. ~~~Stephanie
  9. Just wanted to welcome you to our humble community. You'll get a lot of support and questions answered here, so ask away. ~~~Stephanie
  10. There is a thing here in Texas called Texas Rehabilitation Services, they will cover the surgery if you meet certain requirements, to help you get a job to support yourself if your weight hinders you from getting one. It's not easy but if you have no other option it could be something to look into, I don't know your personal situation and I don't know the requirements. But it should be listed under California Rehabilitation Services if your state has it. Good luck, I hope you find a way to have the surgery. ~~~Stephanie
  11. Can you get a second opinion? ~~Stephanie
  12. There is not as much restriction as I had hoped, but i guess the fills will take care of that. I get my first fill on the 19th of June. He uses Fluoroscope so I hope I can get a good fill to give me some restriction. ~~~Stephanie
  13. Did your Dr. give you information on when and what to have? Because every Dr. is different in their requirements. Like mine wanted me on Clear Liquids for the first week and then full liquids the second week , mushies 3rd and 4th week and regular foods the 5th week. You will find everybody is different. As far as 4 weeks on liquids I know mis73 was on liquids for 4 weeks. It' not easy that's for sure. ~~~Stephanie
  14. Did you get a fill at your surgery, or do you have to wait so many weeks? You sound tighter than I am. I have a 10 cc band with no Fluid, you? ~~~Stephanie
  15. She may not respond to you unless she chose to follow this topic. If you want someone to know you are responding to them personally then you can click on the quote button of their reply and they will get the message that you quoted them, and then they will know. Don't take this personally I just did not know if you knew since you are new. Or you can PM somebody personally. Sorry if you already knew this. ~~~Stephanie
  16. Well I'm on the 2nd week of post-op almost 3rd, which is a full liquid diet, and I have no Fluid in my band yet. For Breakfast I have a cup of oatmeal or cream of wheat then for my snack I'll have my Protein shake, lunch maybe a half a cup of yogurt and a half a cup of sf pudding then my Protein Shake for snack, dinner some cream of something Soup about a cup, then my protein shake before bed. I forgot I have a protein shake before breakfast. I have to fit in 4 Protein shakes to get in all my protein for the day. I'm up real early, so I can fit it all in. ~~~Stephanie
  17. As far as buying clothes I was the same way, I refused to buy anything new until I need some clothes after I lose some weight. Even then I may chose to buy my clothes at a second hand store or a cheap store until I get to my goal. I did have a "last supper" but for the most part I watched what I ate, I did not want to struggle with even more weight to lose or my clothes being to tight. Your actions are normal don't worry. ~~~Stephanie.
  18. Syntrax Nectar has one I tried that is called fuzzy navel it taste like orange juice kind of. You can find it at BariactricAdvantage.com. Mixes real well, it is not powdery tasting either. ~~~Stephanie
  19. You can put them in either. But I think they are better dissolved in the least amount possible so to get in down faster or in one bite because of the taste they are usually awful. It's better if you can get chewables, gummies, or liquid. I got mine from The Vitamin Shoppe. You can find some chewables at BariactricAdvantage.com also. ~~~Stephanie
  20. Good luck, and keep us up to date on your progress. ~~~Stephanie
  21. I would just say to have all your stuff ready for when you come home. Did they give you a list? Things like Protein drinks, Popsicle,Chap-stick, pain meds, broth, crystal light, Gatorade G-2, comfy clothes for after surgery, and a pillow for the ride home to hold your stomach. The pillow also helps when you are getting up and down from the sitting position. If you have a Sonic there ice is great if you have nausea and can't handle anything else. Oh and I forgot about gas-x and something for nausea. Good luck ~~~Stephanie.
  22. My Doc said if it was irritating to the skin it could be taken of with fingernail polish remover. But that's my Doc I don't know about yours. I think it does ware off after awhile. ~~~Stephanie

I don't mean to scare you but the color of your urine does not sound good. Can you call your surgeon? Do they have an after hours number? It could be nothing, but if you still have it i would check to be sure. It's the pinkish color that worry's me. ~~~Stephanie
  24. I have a chart for Protein amounts based on height. I have to hit 79 grams based on my height of 5'3". If you want I can post yours. Also I was told by my hairdresser who has a customer who is a dietitian that eating complex carbs is what will help keep your hair from falling out. I don't have a clue but if nothing else is working maybe you could just make sure your getting enough and see what happens. Now my Doc says 75 grams of protein and Nioxin shampoo. I was told by my hairdresser that Biotin only helps the hair you have grow it does not grow hair itself. Just some thoughts. Good luck ~~~Stephanie
  25. Hi just wanted to welcome you here. I just had my surgery two weeks ago Tuesday, so I don't really have any advice except to take it a day at a time and follow you Dr. and nutritionist directions and you'll do great. See ya 'round. ~~~Stephanie
