I had mine done with plication on may 24. All I can say is do what the dr tells you! Are you getting a hernia repair or plication? Good luck!

I would just say to have all your stuff ready for when you come home. Did they give you a list? Things like Protein drinks, Popsicle,Chap-stick, pain meds, broth, crystal light, Gatorade G-2, comfy clothes for after surgery, and a pillow for the ride home to hold your stomach. The pillow also helps when you are getting up and down from the sitting position. If you have a Sonic there ice is great if you have nausea and can't handle anything else. Oh and I forgot about gas-x and something for nausea. Good luck
