Hate to tell you this but, yes it is normal and will probably continue. My stomach talks all the time. I just make jokes about it, "sorry about that, guess my tummy wants in on the convo". Lol

You say you're eating less but are you tracking your calories?
Eating smaller portions doesn't necessarily mean you're consuming less calories. If you're not tracking calories I'd start. It's the only way you can be certain you're not eating too much or too little.
    Best wishes.

I can't give you a definitive answer as to the problem, but my suggestion would be to call your Dr. and ask their advice.

Do NOT second guess yourself. Losing 10 pounds in 4 weeks is great. All bodies are different. At four weeks I was at the soft food stage. Take small bites and chew. You CAN do this!

here i thought i was gonna read you ate like a couple of pizza's...well whats done is done my friend...so forget it and move on. if you were hungry (was it because you were truly hungry) or did you just think you were aka head hunger? .....2 weeks post op, what phase does your dr have you on?.....if you are hungry, drink some Protein (if you are on liquids still)...
i would say to eat more filling foods as that helps you not be soo overly hungry and def drink alot... (bread is not very filling in my opinion). i love subway too..i have a 6in tuna last night.....ate the tuna and fed the 6in bread to my dobermans......
hang in there as steph says it will get better/easier

If I'm reading correctly, you're hoping to lose 58 lbs in a month and a half? That seems like an unrealistic expectation to me. Just focus on one day at a time and one hour at a time. Stay away from the foods your surgeon hasn't approved. This phase before you start your fills is called banister hell...a horrible time for sure, but if you manage through it, it will prepare you well for when the fills start coming.
My recommendation, start discussions with a nutritionist and look at setting realistic goals.
    All the best

I told all my kids. Three of which are still at home (ages 19, 17 and 12) and one that lives with his wife and child. I don't mind that their friends know. The kids did need to know because they had to understand that my eating would change. It has been a family thing really. They encourage me when I start getting annoyed that I can't have some of the things they are eating. Now I have no cravings for most of what they eat and only want my shakes and my meals. They have been wonderful through this.

I think it depends on your job. If you are doing a lot of lifting, stretching, etc that may not be a good idea. I was told 3-4 weeks and than I could actively look for a job.

Having the band is just a tool to help you loose weight. You still have to do all the work to make it work. It's not like it is a Miracle cure. You still have to eat healthy, small portions and exercise. I too wish I woulld of done it years ago. My sister has lost 100 lbs with diet and exercise and I'm proud of her but she was telling people that she did it the "natural" way. I was so offended by that because it's not like we don't still have to work at it. Be proud of what you have done for yourself.

There's an old saying around here " The band is around your stomach, not your brain". You need to find other ways to control the head hunger. We will always have stresses in or livew, so we need to learn how to handle them, that doesn't include food.
I would say, instead of the time to fix and eat ice cream, exercise then. Put in a exercise video or just some music and dance. Take a hot bath, organize something, find a hobby.
I don't believe in "willpower", its all about "wantpower". How bad do you want to succeed?
    Kudo's on packing your lunch.
PS. I haven't started exercising yet, b/c of bad knee's, but watching what i eat and making good choices does work. If I get hungry between meals, I have a cup of diet hot chocolate or a bottle of Water. I just tell myself, junk is not in the plan.
Best to you. You can do this!

I wouldn't give a rat's ass about wasting anything. Firstly it's no one's business what you eat or don't eat. Are they paying for it? If not, ignore the comments. Boy...that gets my blood boiling.... Here you are trying to eat healthy and others are bullying you into doing something you know is not good for you. Try to watch how a thin person eats. They leave over lots of food...or they don't eat certain things at all. If you want to have one spoonful of soup and three pieces of lettuce, just do it and don't worry about what other people say.

Your Protein shakes are crucial for healing right now. Either stomach the ones you have or get new ones but you have to have something.
Talk to your doctor about exercise, most won't let you do much beyond walking for the first 4 weeks.

LadyOphelia1988 reacted to donna12 in ' PB-ing', What is it!?
bandedlexi, oh my, keep reading on this sight you will learn and learn my dear friend. Dan is right and I've had my share of many stuck episodes and many PB'ing episodes, one being Sunday, it was one of the worst in a while. For me its still learning my band, yes I'm 10 months post op and still learning how to eat, you must take tee tiny bites and I mean the size of your pinky nail, no joke and chew till its liquid or you will get stuck, yes of course after you get fills but taking too big of bites and not chewing now could end in this result without fills too. But for me this past Sunday I happen to be eating pulled pork BBQ, not the healiest choice but was craving it so I got some on Saturday and warmed it up on Sunday, anyway, didn't take my tiny bite and swallowed and BAM, you better be near a bathroom too, for me I start to salivate excessively and then the nasty slime starts and you spit it out, sorry its gross but happens then you PB (productive burp) up the some of the food. For me however after doing this I was still stuck till finally I threw up forcefully which is NOT good for the band, it can cause a slipped band if you throw up a lot. But for Sunday I lost my lunch to say the least or not so least at this point in my story to you. Whatever you do on your journey is don't hesitate to ask questions on here no matter how dumb or how small you may think they are. I'm sure some of us have been there.

No, no, no. People know exactly what they are saying and how you will react. If people "mean well", they say well. Don't let someone control your actions and reactions. You cannot control what people say but you have total power of how you will react. Could it be that this person would like to see you fail? Be strong...you are your own best friend.
