Question
I am not banded yet, but in the past with constipation, I have found that Milk of Magnesia works great or Magnesium of Citrate works great too. Both get me going in a matter of 1-2 hours after taking it and its great because both are liquids. The Milk of Magnesia is a little chaulky, but only get it in the cherry flavor, because otherwise its nasty. If you are going to drink the Magnesium of Citrate, it comes in Lemon or Cherry, they are both nasty to get down, but work the best. Good luck to ya!

Lose with Mannamay
:drama: Hello Everyone! Okay, since I am getting really close to my medical consult (5 days away), I figured I would start my own journal. Honestly, starting to get nervous and the way I look at it is, I should not be nervous, I am strong and I have my guard up. On that note, I have the right to be nervous, but I have a hard time letting my guard down. I am constantly confusing my emotions. I am going to use this thread to post my updates, possibly some photos, and how I feel in general. I have some before photos. I will post them soon, probably right before the surgery. I was supposed to have my medical consult on May 10th, but the kiddos had some stuff at school scheduled which I just found out about, so I had to change my sppointment and now it is April 27th. Usually the doctor that I am seeing will preform the lap-band 2 weeks from the consult which would throw my surgery into the 2nd week of May. So, soon I will be a bandster for life. YEAH!!! My DH has all of the sudden become very supportive. He has always been supportive, but now he is saying he is willing to go with me to the appointments because he wants to know whats going on and not be suprised, which is great! I would like him to go and know everything as well so I don't have to explain anything. Okay, so long for now, will post again soon. Thanks for listening.

Im Approved!!!!!!!
Oh believe me, I did. She is amazing doing that for me. I kept asking her, are you sure you have good enough credit to get that kind of loan, she kept me positive. Hope to be a bandster soon.

Im Approved!!!!!!!
You said it, my DH says, "First of all, congrats and second of all, I'm scared". I asked him why are you scared, he says, "Well, this is surgery, surgery itself scares me, but I am really scared about all the new clothes you are going to buy!" LOL, he cracks me up.

Im Approved!!!!!!!
:update: As promised, I said I would keep the board updated. Care Credit went through, and I am apporved for the Lap-Band. Thank goodness for my mother (love her, she helps all the time) she is the one that applied for me and I got $12000 for my procedure, which covers almost everything. I got my hospital fees, doctor fees, happy drugs fee, fills, and post op care covered for 1 whole year, YES!!!!!!!!! Anyway, just thought I would share the exciting news. :amen:

How do you know a goal weight?
I have set a goal of 140, but, with that said, I will see how I feel when I get close to that number. I may choose to lose more or not. But, 140 is pretty ideal for my height. I am 5'6". From what I am told it is all about the feel good factor. My DH says that if I choose to go lower than that, then I am crazy. He thinks curves are pretty and says a little cusion for the pushin is good...lol. You can let your mind wander on that, these are his words and he has a funny way of talking to me! Anyway, good luck with your decision. You will know what is right for you when the time comes. Take it easy!

Girls: After you lost weight do strangers give you more attention?
What I don't like when you are heavy is when you go for a job interview and the interviewer can't help but stare at you ( not in a good way ). I went for a job interview the other day and I did not get it, but a slender girl did. What a suck out!

Protein
Thanks for the info. I really didn't think they would hurt me, they are high in protein, I will check the lable for the whole carb thing and sugar. I will definately ask the doc to see what he thinks. I know a lot of docs recommend Herbalife as well as many other's like Advocare, I think thats how you spell it.

Care Credit
Hey Spydr, I had my eyes done too, isn't it great! Love it!!! Anyway, yes, my doc accepts care credit, thank the lord. Thanks Mema for the info. I will check into that as well. Laura, I figured it was based on credit score, just wanted to make sure. See when I applied for care credit to do my eyes, they denied me. I ended up going with their Inhouse financing program. My husband's credit score is just under 600, that is why we are going to wait until May to get the financing. I am hoping by then it will go up over 600 so they will approve us. I don't know how many points you get on your credit score for selling a house early, but we will see.
-
Protein
Okay, I saw there were a few threads about Herbalife on here. I do have a question. Since the doc wants you to drink protein shakes, and I can see why, I was wondering what it would hurt to drink Herbalife. I have done it for a long time. The shakes to me taste pretty good, so is it going to hurt me to drink them when the time comes?

Care Credit
My husband doesnt really have a problem getting the credit cards, but they always want to give him smaller amounts, they wont give him what we need. Kinda stuck right now, but the good news is, if I wait until my appointment in May, my mother said that if I cannot get the financing, she will get care credit under her name and let me use it, so there is one thing postive for the day.
-
Care Credit
Well, I have not tried care credit, but I did try Capitol One, and they did deny me. Seriously, my credit sucks. My husband on the other hand, his is fairly decent, but we were told not to apply for any credit for about 1 month because we just sold our house and that sell needs to reflect on his credit report because when you get a big loan, such as a mortgage, your score actually goes down for a bit until you can prove yourself. So therefore, I will not be applying for credit until his score goes up, but my question is, how far up does that score need to be?
-
Care Credit
Does anyone know what your credit score has to be to be approved by care credit? I have to wait until at least May to try and apply, but I was just curious??? If anyone has been approved or denied, please explain so maybe I can get my ducks in a row. Thanks...

Need Opinions on who are the best insurance companies to cover the Lap-Band...
Hi everyone.... Okay, since starting my little venture, I had decided to be a self pay patient, but am having a different view. Not to say that I won't end up being a self pay patient, so here's the deal. My DH's company insurance does not cover the band at all, heck, they don't even cover the bypass. Well, what I am thinking about doing so that I can get this covered is have my husband drop me from his insurance which is not cheap anyway, and have a different insurance pick me up. I have priced the different ones out there, and they end up being a little bit cheaper than my current insurance. For example, UHC doesn't necessarily say its covered, but doesn't say that its not, so therefore, I need some imput. Who is the best insurance company out there in ya'lls opinions for me to choose and do ya'll think this is a good idea? It ends up costing me more or less the same premium every month, so I will not have to spend that extra money out of my pocket for the self pay issue. I am open to suggestions and comments, if anyone knows, that would be great! Thanks...
