Okay, I saw there were a few threads about Herbalife on here. I do have a question. Since the doc wants you to drink protein shakes, and I can see why, I was wondering what it would hurt to drink Herbalife. I have done it for a long time. The shakes to me taste pretty good, so is it going to hurt me to drink them when the time comes?

I think any shake with Protein would be ok - so long as they aren't high in sugar and carbohydrates...

Most docs want us on a lower carb, south beach or atkins thing. Now some of them are just trying to push their own product - but if your doc is NOT trying to get you to buy his particular brand, ask him.

If he IS trying to sell a particular brand - ask him WHY. What makes the ___ product better than anything else.

If he gives you valid answers (low carb/high vitamins/whatever) then you can pick an alternate product that has similar benefits.

Herbalife should be fine. Just make sure you are getting the bang for the buck and getting at least 25 grams of protein for your shake. If not, I would switch. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I really didn't think they would hurt me, they are high in protein, I will check the lable for the whole carb thing and sugar. I will definately ask the doc to see what he thinks. I know a lot of docs recommend Herbalife as well as many other's like Advocare, I think thats how you spell it.
