    I told two people...my boyfriend that i live with and who has been with me every step of the way, and my best friend who lives 12 hours away. I told my coworkers that i had my gall bladder out. I work with nosy women who would be like are you sure you should be eating that, or constantly asking me how much i had lost. Its easier this way. I didn't tell my family anything...i live 6 hrs away and only see them a few times a year. A far as anyone knows, i meet with a nutritionist and i watch what i eat and i exercise.

    I told none about mine. I tell them its eating healthier after seeing a nutritionist, and exercise. And those are changes they can see and have been seeing since before my surgery. I was out for surgery but i told them i was having my gall bladder out. The band just helps me make better choices.

    It could be that i had a stick then didn't go on liquids and just ate regularly...which could have kept the swelling which made me feel tighter than normal. Which caused another stick...etc. Sounds like a cycle i need to break although i haven had a stick in about a week and an feeling less tight than i did when i made the original Post.

    I started using powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury during my preop and i haven't used another. In fact i have1/2 scoop every morning in my iced coffee to boost Protein.
    You can buy SF syrups to change the flavors up (recommend torani). Plus Unjury has a chicken broth protien powder that can be used in place of shakes.
    And as long as you Dont use liquids over 140 degrees you can mix chocolate with warm milk/silk/water to make hot chocolate as a shake alternative.

    I made lasagna cups as part of my post op using small ramekins.
    1 cup low fat/fat free cottage cheese
    1 cup low fat/fat free ricotta cheese
    1 egg beaten
    1/2 cup parmesan cheese
    Mix it all together and divide into sprayed ramekins. It should make about 8 of them. Top with a little bit of your favorite marinara and bake at 350 for about 30 mins.

    Only my boyfriend that lives with Me and my best friend know. I choose to not tell anyone else.my coworkers think i had my gall bladder out.
    This was a very personal decision for me and i didn't want the constant questions of how much i Had lost or should i be eating something. I began losing weight before surgery and implementing healthy changes so the loss didn't suddenly start after surgery.now they ask me how much I've lost but not all the time.. .they SEe the healthy changes and the resulting weight loss and don't know about my little helper.

    Alot of it may be fear...fear that you may die from surgery complications, fear that you will lose weight and leave him, etc. If this is starting before you get your band then you may want to consider going for couples counseling so that you can talk about the changes that you and he will be making together.
    I have been with my bf for six years, and as much as we love each other and i would never leave him, he has that insecurity that i will lose weight and leave him...much like i had the insecurity that he would leave me when i was so heavy and felt so ugly.We had to sit down and talk about it, and we are both more secure now.
    You need you're partner to be supportive. This is a journey you will take together and to be successful, you both need to be on board.
    I hope you area able to have an open and honest conversation with your partner so that you can go forward together.

    I do the same thing with drinking Water if i think I'm hungry. A lot of times its thirst masquerading as hunger. I have a little sign over my desk at work that says "you are not hungry, you are thirsty...drink some water and learn the difference" i probably look at that 100x a day and every time i do i drink.

    Face neck shoulders and wrists and hands. I'm happy my girls are hanging in there...if anything boobs are getting bigger. Weird.

    If you have to cheat, cheat with lean protien.
    Instead of donuts, east some plain grilled chicken or some plain greek yogurt. Instead of that subway sandwich, eat a string cheese and some Turkey pepperoni. Eat a boiled egg. Anything except for empty calorie carbs.
    Or have another shake. You can't go wrong with another shake. The most important part is to get into ketosis so that you can burn the fat off your liver. You should hit ketosis by day three once you get in it, and as long as you stay on plan, you will stay in it through your surgery date.
    Also, whenever you Get hungry, drink a bottle of Water. If you are still hungry then eat. Thirst masks itself as hunger.good luck.

    Your six months will fly by. Use this time to educate yourself about the band, eating better, and preparing for the changes you will be making.
    My insurance and surgeon required six months of WEEKLY classes that covered everything from nutrition, to exercise, to the long term changes you have to make to be successful. If you missed a class you had to make it up and all had to be completed before you could even think of being put on the surgery schedule.
    I wanted to jump into my new life, too, but am happy that i had the time to prepare for all of the changes. I also lost 40 lbs before i even started my Preop diet, and lost another 16 before my surgery date.
    The time will fly by. You can do this.

    I have eaten a lot of corn post OP and not had an issue...corn on the cob, canned corn, and the pop corner chips. I don't eat popcorn. Not that i can't, i just don't like it.

    Unjury comes in containers, not bags. And its the best protien on the market. Its the only one i trust, and its the only one i will use.

    Post surgery you can develop intolerance to dairy. Also if you are putting things in the blender this can pump them full of air making you feel bloated and gassy. Try not blending things first. If that doesn't work try switching out to Silk instead of milk for about a week and maybe not eat cream soup...just a thought.

    Unjury has a good chicken Protein. Otherwise use Swanson but cook with a mir poix mix and then strain out.mir poix is onion carrots and celery to add flavor.

    I totally understand. I got my second fill on Friday...only.5cc to bring me to 5.5 in my 10cc bands...but since then i have restriction! I'm so excited! I'm looking forward to hopefully losing sine weight now!

    I was banded on march 25. I only told my boyfriend and my best friend who lives five states away. I did not tell Co workers our family. I told people that i was having my gall bladder out, and they have not questioned it. I didn't want to be constantly scrutinized about what i was eating or how much weight i was losing or not losing. Its a personal decision who to tell.

    I tend to do a protien shake for breakfast because I'm tight in the mornings and i can start the day with 27 grams of protien (powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury plus 8oz silk).
    Sometimes I'll have a shake at night I'd i haven't met my protien for the day just to keep my numbers up.
    And i really like the Unjury. It tastes good.
