  1. Throwing up is rare. I'm 5 weeks out and had a fill already and never even come close.
  2. 6 pound difference in an hour? I think something is wrong with your scale!
  3. You had your surgery 4 days ago and you just got your first fill? Wow that's crazy. Never heard of such a thing. You should still be on liquids I would think but your doctor should be the best to ask.
  4. Completely normal and yes it will go away!!!!
  5. Well it's been 3 weeks since I was banded. Just received my first fill this week, and am grateful my doctor does fills to early. Here are some things I have learned that may be helpful to some newbies! You must learn to differentiate between head hunger and physical hunger. The reason why we are all here is because in the past we have given in to head hunger way too many times. Now that my band is much tighter, that feeling of fullness is not the same as it once was. However, it is now a feeling of satisfied. There is a HUGE difference. So, newly banded, do not expect to feel "stuffed" while eating smaller portions. You must learn to listen to your body and understand the new feeling of being full. You can easily gain weight with the band by making poor choices. The worst thing I have given in to in the last few weeks is a piece of pizza. That is a HUGE accomplishment for me. Tomorrow is my birthday. Will I eat dessert? Yes, a few bites. I don't believe in giving up things that I once enjoyed. The only problem is I enjoyed them too much. We must now learn to eat to live, not live to eat. There is nothing that is EASY about having the band. It takes a huge lifestyle change that you must be willing to commit to.
  6. Well I gulped instead of sipped and it hurt!
  7. Interesting experience! Not too bad but I will say a little painful when feeling around for the port. Took a too large of sip of water afterwards. Hello we have restriction!
  8. You guys are scarring me! I'm almost 3 weeks post op and will be so afraid of getting stuck!
  9. I was pretty much eating normal foods at about 10 days post op. everyone's instructions are different :-)
  10. Hi all! I'm two weeks post op and sometimes when I sit down I get this horrible burning pain around my port. Like pain when it's being compressed. Anyone else have this problem?
  11. I always have a high white count. It's always a pain when I have to have surgery because my white count comes back high and doctors freak out. Nothing is wrong with me, had it all checked out but it's always elevated, around 12,000. Inflammation plays a part in that.
  12. Two weeks post op and starving! Can't wait till my fill next week. I'm eating regular food just cannot get satisfied.
  13. 1 week full liquids, 1 week mushies, regular diet as tolerated!
  14. Why would it be necessary to have a medical Alert bracelet?
  15. Mine seems to be the most liberal. No pre-op diet, full liquid first week, mushies second week and start soft diet week 3. And, first fill week 3!
  16. How was the recovery from your TT? Your scar looks awesome, like a crease more so!
  17. Omg I am 8 days out and have never passed gas as much as I do know!
  18. Yes hiccup burp combo! Me too!
  19. Just went for my post op appointment today and mentioned the very same thing! I feel like I have to burp and the air doesn't come out, gets pushed back down. Totally normal according to the doc, lots of swelling and when your stomach is being tightened its all affected. Once the band loosens up you should be able to burp :-)
  20. All I can say is I was banded 5 days ago and thank GOD for my Percocet!
  21. Got very excited today because I'm 6 days post op and the nurse said I could have scrambled eggs. Cooked 3(my mind is obviously bigger than my stomach). Took like 5 bites and I was full! Love my lap band!
  22. Can't wait to have a scrambled egg and some yogurt tomorrow. Feeling pretty good though.
  23. My belly is very swollen from my surgery three days ago. Anyone else have this problem? Is it something I can ice?
  24. I'm trying not to take the pain meds as much because they make me constipated but may have to take one. This gas pain is ridiculous.
  25. I'm two days post op and drinking anything is very painful. Just had a Popsicle and its so uncomfortable. Can barely get anything down!
