What's going on with belighter???
Is this the Ann Marie that didn't return my calls or my emails? This is Kathy P---- I had surgery in May, I tried and tried to get someone to answer me in regards to my records. No one not even the office would contact me. Neither did ANN MARIE who was so caring and who I spoke to on many occassions. UNTILL I HAD MY SURGERY AND SOMEONE HAD MY MONEY> Then I wasn't important any more. IS THAT YOU?? I AM IN SHOCK!!! THAT IS ALL THAT I CAN SAY!!

Sore throat/esophagus after fill?
When I got my second fill I experienced the same type of thing. Are you pbing? I had a hard time keeping water down. I waited almost 7 days and had to have a unfill. He took out .4 of a .7 fill and I am doing great now. If you are pbing or having still having that problem you may want to have a slight unfill. I thought mine might get better over a few days but it actually got worse. I was very uncomfortable by the 7th day and when he took some out it was a instant relief. Since my experience I am a firm believer that no one should suffer with a overfill. I hope you are feeling better soon what ever you decide? Take care, Kathy

Lapband Thought for the Day..?
How true this is, I now buy the baked cheetos. I know it is not one of the better choices. My biggest fear being thin and not being able to eat the things I like. Knowing when to stop before we hit the wall. Great heist. Thanks for sharing.

In your opinion, unfill necessary?
Brenda, Just this last week the doctor had to remove .4 cc from my band. I have the allergy problem too and I also have had a cold for a couple of weeks. I take Claritin for my allergies. But with the cold I had a lot of the drainage thing going on. I was at 1cc and on the 12th he put in .7 well let me tell you. I thought I was going to die. By Thursday I was pbing on anything and everything. Water, the drainage, I had the reflux stuff going on it was awful. I tried to ride it out but by Monday with no sleep and not being able to keep anything down I called the doctor. I went in to get a unfill but no luck he couldn't hit the port. The flori tech wasn't in so I had to wait until Tuesday. He then removed the .4 cc and oh my gosh what a relief, I really think that I would have had the aspiration pneumonia I could feel it coming on. I still have my good restriction but it made the world of difference. I did loose 6 pounds in the process but not a good way to loose. So maybe it might be a good idea for you. I think Leatha is right on. You don't want to end up very sick. Trust me I really think I would have been worse had I had to wait much longer. I am going to be checking out the Alavert D it is worth a try. Best of luck to you, Kathy

Golf ball with water!!!!!!!!!!Any advise???
Hi eveyone, Sunday did not go well for me. I was still sipping my water and sipping my soup. When I tried to go to bed Sunday night I couldn't lay down with out stuff backing up my throat and I felt like I was going to drown. I called the Dr. yesterday he had me come in and was going to remove some of my fill. Well that didn't go well either. There was no one in xray and he tried and tried to get to my port but couldn't. So I go back again today. He gave me some meds to try and help with the backup. It did help some but most of what goes down wants to come back up. So today at 1:30 some of my new fill is coming out. I can't wait for some relief. The bright side to all this is that I am down 6 more pounds. I hit the 220's not a good way to do it but I guess it will have to work. Just really want some relief starting to feel weak from all this. Thanks for all your concern and advise it really helped me through a ruff weekend. I will keep you all posted. Thanks Kathy

Golf ball with water!!!!!!!!!!Any advise???
I so hope that they are in on Monday. I am going to see how tomorrow goes and I will probably call. I am miserable trying to keep some fluids in but having a real hard time. Thanks for the support. I was afraid of the whole PB thing and the slime but it is really way better than vomiting. Right now it is the only thing that gives me relief. Sure glad you were both here to respond. Takes my mind off it. Thanks

Golf ball with water!!!!!!!!!!Any advise???
Hi everyone haven't posted in a while, I went and had my second fill because I thought I was eating more. Something was trying to tell me I shouldn't get this fill. I went in Monday the 10th got poked 5 times Dr. couldn't find the right spot. So I had to go back in on Wednesday to have it done with floro, well on my way I got stuck in traffic for a hour. There was a bad accident one of the figure skaters in town for the competion was in a roll over and her mother was killed. It was awful. Well the doctor was still able to do my fill. It went well I even got pictures. I drank 2 small cups of water before I left, seemed to be ok. The Dr. said take it easy on liquids for the day so I did. The next morning tried to drink coffee had some trouble but not to bad. Then I had a couple bites of a yogurt and a piece of protien bar and that wasn't to bad. One of the girls in the office brought in some crispy bacon from our snack bar. So I had 2 small slices. Oh my god thought I was going to die. I pb'd about 4 times then it was better. Didn't eat anything else for the day, couldn't even drink without the golf ball feeling. Today is the same I have pb'd about 6 times and I can get very little down. Any suggestions on what to do? I can't get back in until Monday. I am fine as long as I don't eat or drink. Any advise ????

Fill Prices
I am about 50 miles from Dr Ubanks in Portland,OR. He charges 150 for fills and another 100 if you need fluoro. I went to Mexico for surgery paid 10500 plus flights. I found out Dr Ubanks does it in Portland for 12500 if you don't need to be hospitalized. I go tomorrow for my second fill.

Back home with pictures of Nevaeh
Hi everyone I am back home. I had no internet in Reno at my daughters to keep in touch. So I am way behind. So how is everyone?? We had a nice trip, the baby was awesome. She had grown so much in 3 months. We had 24 inches of snow while we were there. Worst storm Reno has had since 1911. So we were snowbound and not a whole lot to do. We did enjoy that grandbaby. I will try to attach some pictures. Glad to be back missed you all. Hope everyone had a great holiday. I did manage to loose a pound, I had a flu bug so that helped. I finally hit 230 on the scale.

Crazy Family & Inlaw stories
I got me some of those relatives too!! A sister that was a meth head, she had a little black ball that followed her around for awhile, she thought my mom and dad worked for the FBI or CIA and oh yeah the aliens had came and got her a few times. Well we believe the alien part, where is our sister and what did you do with her. She is off the drugs now but the effects are forever with her. Love her to death, but the drugs made her a different person. Hubby had some too!! Brother drank himself to death sitting at the kitchen table in front of a heater. They didn't find him for days. PEEEEEWWWW oh sorry that was not nice. (Sorry Charley) but did you have to do in front of the heater. Oh yeah and he has some of the inbreeding stuff going on in his family. Cousin's marrying cousin's. Oh well you know what they say you can pick your friends but you can't pick your relatives.

I just feel like crying...
Babs I feel for you. I had?? have?? Female Alopecia Areata. About 8 years ago I started losing my hair. It started with a couple small spots. They were very strange round bald spots, they grew and grew within 3 months I had lost almost all my hair. I only had a few patches around my neck and on the sides. When it first started I went to my pcp and he told me that I had Alopecia, and that I could loose all of my body hair. He said there was no way of knowing if I would loose it all or not. That was about all that he said. 4 months later I saw another doctor he told me exactly what it was he said that you can tell by the roundness of the bald areas. He told me to buy a wig and my hair would be back in a year. Well he was right. But I was so devistated I think it was one of the hardest things that I have ever dealt with. I'll never forget going in to get sized for my wig. I cried all day, there was a lady there getting sized for hers. The owner could see that I was pretty upset and so she got me some tea, I told her what the doctor had said and she knew what I was talking about. She was very comforting, later she told me that the lady before me had cancer and wasn't expected to live much longer. She wanted to look her best no matter what. But to me she seemed to be as happy as could be getting a new wig. I felt so bad for being such a blubbering idot when she told me her story. She reasured me that it was ok, that my sadness was very much justified. It is not easy for any woman to loose their hair. Well I got my wig a week or so later, I wore it out one day and that was it, it sat in the closet. I never wore it again. I learned a very good lesson that day, I may loose my hair, but it could always be worse. Again I lost my hair a few years after that but only a few spots, nothing like the first time. I live with knowing that it may happen again at any time. I hope that my story gives you some comfort. I had no one to talk with at that time that could relate to what I was feeling. It is a very strange emotional thing. I really do understand your pain. If you ever want to talk about it, I am here for you.
