I am scared
I get my protein on this website. mydietshopz.com Their hot chocolate and cold fruit drinks are great. The orange flavor reminds me of Tang. The hot chocolate comes in mint, amaretto etc.

BCBS~ Anyone have any idea how long BCBS takes to approve process....
I have experience with BCBS in NJ. It was a fast process. Approval was less than a week and from my first doctor visit until surgery was about 5 weeks.

3rd day post-op
I never consumed more than 500 calories my entire first week post-op. Don't worry about it. Just stay hydrated.

Surgery Date was Monday April 8, 2013
God IS good! I pray your recovery continues to be easy for you.

2 week post op appointment
Good for you!

post-op
You're doing great. I had no appetite to speak of for the first month! I wish it would have stayed that way.

Is this the typical beginning?
I'm also a nurse and had feelings just like you are having. I was miserable for many days and had great difficulty getting in the "required" fluids immediately post-op. I promise it will get better. Each day you'll make a little more progress. Get all the rest you can get and just concentrate on sipping fluids as often as possible. You can do this!

It hurts....
The shoulder pain you feel is referred pain. It comes from irritation of the phrenic nerve which runs along your diaphragm. During laparoscopic surgery, that nerve is stretched and irritated by the CO2 gas the surgeon inflates your abdomen with to be able to work in there. It will eventually subside. I found a heating pad helped greatly. My shoulder pain lasted at least 10 or more days.

Pudding
Pudding was on my full liquids list.

First fill
For me, it was over in 10 seconds and I felt one minimal skin prick. Liquids for 24 hours, then a day of mushies, then on to regular food.

I FINALLY understand "bandsters hell!"
I. also, am in Bandster Hell. Banded on 2/4/2013. Had my first fill a week ago. Have no restriction and the will power is waning. I'm going to do a week of protein shakes this week. I'm stuck at the same weight for 2 weeks.

First fill....no restriction
Thanks for the input.

First fill....no restriction
I understand that I more likely than not, need multiple fills. What I really need to know is should I wait another three weeks until the next one. Thanks
-
Welcome, Feb Bandsters!
I completely understand about not feeling restriction. I just posted a question regarding this, hoping to get some help from the veterans. I was banded the day before you and have had one fill so far, with so restriction. Kudos to you for working out with a trainer. I think we need to be patient and work on getting to the green zone with our bands. Glad to have you in the group.

First fill....no restriction
I was banded 7 weeks ago. I had my first fill (3cc in a 14cc band) 1 week ago. I had no restriction before the fill and still have none. My next appointment is in 3 weeks. Should I wait this amount of time or see if I can get in sooner for another fill? Do I need to give it more time? I have lost 25 pounds, but that is sheer willpower. I'd like to hear from the veterans. Thanks.

6 Year Bandiversary.... Lots of gratitude for my band
You are an inspiration to us all. Congratulations on you ongoing success.

Telling Friends and Family about Getting Banded.
I chose to tell only my husband and best friend initially. I told my children the day before my surgery. No one else needs to know. This has kept all negativity away. The vast majority of people in my life really have no reason to know.
