  1. Sounds like you are doing well.....keep it up!
  2. I'm exactly 1 week post-op and feeling pretty good today. My belly is soft. I still have some shoulder discomfort. I have no desire to eat or drink, but I can now drink my fluids without dreading it. I'm still on Clear Liquids for the next week. How are rest of you doing?
  3. Are you working with a nutritionist?
  4. I'm one week post-op today and for the first time, actually felt like getting up out of bed today. It IS major surgery and all of our innards have been manipulated and need time to recover. I still have gas pain, no appetite and no energy, but it really does get better each day. Stay in touch for positive input.
  5. Here's a link for the group. When you get to the page, click on "follow group" http://www.lapbandtalk.com/groups/show/124-february-2013-bandsters/
  6. Welcome to the group.
  7. Come join the February 2013 Bandsters. We all feel the way you do. You'll find plenty of friends there and lots of support.
  8. I'm 1 week post-op today and still on clear liquids and skim milk. I don't start any pureed food until 2 weeks out.
  9. What has happened to my taste buds? I'm 6 days post-op and nothing tastes the same to me, even water! When will my sense of taste return to normal?
  10. Congratulations. You are an inspiration.
  11. Congrats! It really does make the post-op diet a bit easier. I'm on my 7th day of post-op clear liquids.....7 more to go! We can do this.
  12. I was also banded on Monday. I still have gas issues, shoulder and back pain. I am passing intestinal gas after doing my share of walking. My doc still has me on clear fluids which I am thankful for. I do feel like I must take it slowly. I don't think the gas issue is unusual. What kind of diet are you on? Do you have medication for nausea?
  13. Felicia, I'll pray for your approval. Let me know how it goes. What type of pre-op diet do you have? I had none, but I'm glad I self-imposed one, because I dropped 10 pounds before the surgery. You can do this!
  14. Congrats! I was banded on Monday. Each day DOES get better. The heating pad works for the shoulder or back pain. I too, am trying to take as little pain med as possible. It WILL constipate you. We can do this.
  15. Glad to hear I'm not alone. I'm also bloated and have a hard time, sometimes painful, burping.
  16. My surgery was Monday and I still have a very bloated belly. I still have pain in my shoulder and back. I'm looking more like 7 months pregant.
  17. I've no desire to drink anything. I trying very hard to get in enough Fluid.
  18. Just wondering how all our post-op Bandsters are doing. I'm up and about pretty well, but STILL having shoulder and back pain. It's hard to get in all my fluids and calories, since I have absolutely no desire to put anything in my mouth. The scale, BTW, still shows 2 pounds more than my pre-op weight.
  19. I'm right there with you, Kate.
  20. Thanks Kate. I know things are crazy at your house.
  21. I've been two pounds heavier since the surgery and can't get my wedding ring off. Maybe when I start moving more and consistently having good Protein amounts, I'll lose the fluids.
  22. Feeling a bit improved each day. Thank you for asking.
  23. Try and get some sleep tonight. That was hard for me the night before. You will be in my prayers tomorrow. I'll see you in Bandland.
  24. Sounds as though you are doing great as well. Congrats. BTW.....Day 1 is the day after the surgery. Have fun on Saturday.
  25. So glad you're feeling well. Keep us posted. It gives me hope for feeling better soon.
