  1. I want to express my gratitude to each of you in this group. It's amazing to me how a group of strangers can form such a bond and such comradery in such a short time. February Bandsters....you are the best! I look forward to taking this journey along side each of you. Whatever support or help I can give to anyone, just ask.
  2. I will keep you in my prayers. We're in this together. Susan
  3. Anyone else being banded tomorrow besides me, Kate and Sara?
  4. Welcome to the group, Sara. I'm assuming your name is Sara. Is that right?? We're band date buddies. I'm excited and a bit nervous. How about you? Are you doing a pre-op diet? BTW I love your profile pic.
  5. Thank you, Alita. I started following the post-op guidelines that I was given and also started using the myfitnesspal website. I've been staying under 1200 calories. As of this morning, I've lost 11 pounds! I did take measurements earlier this month. Please do keep me in your prayers tomorrow.
  6. Congratulations on your decision for a new life.
  7. Welcome. I see you've lost quite a bit already. Good for you. I'll be banded on Monday.
  8. Welcome to the group. You'll find plenty of friends and support here.
  9. Smoking also puts you at a greater risk with general anesthesia.
  10. Congratulations, Chris! Speedy recovery!
  11. My surgeon advises a goal of BMI under 25. The weight would be different for everyone, depending on you height. A BMI under 25 is healthy. I guess personally, I want to be healthy, not just sort of healthy.
  12. Congratulations. You've done a great job. You inspire the rest of us.
  13. Praying you have an easy time of it. We'll be waiting to hear from you.
  14. I am SO looking forward to the gas report. We want every detail.
  15. Vanessa, great job with the diet! I know it's not easy. I bet it was exciting seeing that scale this morning. Susan
  16. I'm praying you'll have your date soon, Crystal!
  17. Danielle, you must be so excited. My date is Monday and I didn't sleep a wink last night. I know it's from the excitement. My Doc also does not require a pre-op diet, so I also did a self imposed one. I'm down 5 plus. I'll weigh tomorrow. Good for you starting out right! I figured it would be easier to follow the rules for the post-op diet, if I started with restrictions now. I'll keep you in my prayers for your surgery tomorrow. Susan
  18. Congratulations! Welcome to February 2013 Bandsters.
  19. Welcome. There's lots to learn here and lots of great people to learn it from.
  20. What a great thing to do on Valentine's Day!
  21. Welcome to the group. Two days to go! No wonder you are excited. We're all in this together, so keep us posted.
  22. Have you met with a dietician?
  23. What type of diet are you supposed to be on? My surgeon will have me on liquids for 4 weeks post-op and then on to mushies. Pizza doesn't sound good for 3 weeks post-op.
