Hello. My lap band surgery is scheduled for next Friday, February 8th. I would like to know why we are told to quit smoking before the lap band surgery? I had to sign a paper saying I would quit smoking 4 weeks prior to surgery. This was back on January 2nd. I have been having a difficult time quitting. I even have an electronic cigarette. I had two major surgeries last year and was only told not to smoke 12hrs prior to surgery. So, what's with this 4 week thing? Thanks for you help!
