Sleeve of Steel see, see, see what happens when you lose 95 lbs - get thin and sexy
at 59 i don't "think" i have to worry
its lucky the whole world doesn't turn thin and sexy
man oh man - what a population explosion we''d have
talk to your doc - he'll give you the proper instructions with eating while being pregnant and having had the sleeve
i'm sure there won't be any problems with nutrition et al for that "cutie to be"
there is some section/board here for "preggo's" like you
people will share their process, give help and advise too
i know that one of the many great reasons to lose weight is so that "you" can finally get pregnant
ladies - you now have "living" proof that "it" can happen to you too
you'll have a blessing during these 9 months of anticipation for your bundle of joy
POST WLS - you can enjoy running and playing with that cutie
happiness and good wishes being sent your way

sherrinita reacted to atPeace55 in Goals
My short term goals were simple I just wanted to be able to get up and walk around first the next was to stick with the diet that was placed in front of me (i.e. following each phase correctly).
Long term goal was and still is to stay active and maintain my weight loss. How I do that is buy committing to cardio 3X per week and strength training 2X per week and be mindful of what I put in my mouth.

Where do you stand?
No matter where you are on your journey, could you share some body stats? If not your current stats, then where you started?
I sometimes see people becoming discouraged if someone is losing faster, or someone who weighs the same as they do can wear a smaller size.
I think it will help to see that everyone is DIFFERENT, we all carry our weight differently, and height makes a difference. Muscle mass and gender make a HUGE difference.
Feel free to update as your size changes.

I'm hoping mine will decrease. I don't want the girls to go away, but I would love to walk into any random store and buy a bra!

sherrinita reacted to mommyradd in Top Heavy Women.....
I use sports bras at 12 weeks out. I have lost inches, but they are still quite heavy. Don't know if they will ever decrease enough to not be considered top heavy, but there seems to be less hanging out of my bra these days, LOL

sherrinita hmmmm - don't like to brag, but...........
I never had to worry about "such" problems
had a double mastectomy in '98
always look for the "good" amongst the bad
now that i've lost weight
i can "jump" around as much as I want - no prob
good luck with WLS
it will be the greatest thing you've ever done for yourself
to your new found health, happiness, and longer life time to enjoy both

sherrinita reacted to TheGamer in Top Heavy Women.....
When I was working out (currently sidelined for injury ) I would wear a regular bra with a half-top style sports bra over it. It kept everything in place, even while jogging.

sherrinita reacted to abbybeep in Top Heavy Women.....
I'm top heavy! I didn't exercise a lot at first (I had a lot of complications). But before surgery, I bought a really nice sports bra from Lane Bryant that was super heavy duty. And I was able to wear it a lot longer than I thought... I know everyone is different, but I'll be honest, after losing almost 100lbs, I have a smaller band size (significantly) but my cup size is still quite large. Years ago, I used to go to Walmart and get the cheaper, flimsy sports bras and double up and that helped.

sherrinita got a reaction from annabelle in Pre-op Questions/Working Out
did any of you start working out prior to having surgery......if so how did it help you after you had surgery, was it easier to drop weight, was it dropping faster, was the loose skin worse or better than what it would have been with you working out prior.....

sherrinita got a reaction from Emilee68 in EGD...ugh!
I had mines done a week ago and got the results back and i have a mild cause of gastritis. I was nervous at first but all was fine. had no clue what had happen at all. It is best to get done so that you will know what is going on inside of you.....i do agree to think of it as a safety procedure so it want be any surprise during surgery....Good luck

Here is a recipe that one of my fellow WLS friends made last nite.....it is WLS friendly....enjoy!!!!
Tuna Cakes
You need:
- 1 can albacore tuna in olive oil
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c reduced fat shredded cheese
- 4 crushed up popped rice cakes cheddar cheese
Mix it all together & form 2 tuna cakes
Spray pan w/ Pam and fry until crispy. I started on high heat and flipped them every few minutes for about 8 minutes & reduced heat a bit with every couple of flips. Ended on low heat.
Super yummy, crispy & filling.
Serving is 1 Tuna Cake @ 205 cal / 20 pro
* makes 2

sherrinita got a reaction from PdxMan in Question about sleep apnea
I have the CPAP machine and it does take time to get use to. However, I am not allowed to have surgery wihtout have used the machine for five hours for two weeks. So that is something else that you may need to consider. The reason behind it is because people were having a hard time waking up from anesthesia. I have noticed that I am well rested when i get up in the morning and I dont have the headaches that I use to have when i wake up....but I guess to each its own and what your insurance or surgeon is saying...best of luck

sherrinita reacted to littleone75 in Question about sleep apnea
When I was diagnosed with apnea I had a hard time with my machine at first. Once i got used to it, it made a huge difference.
