  1. Yes, you would be Triwest like me! Not to be a Debbie downer but It is getting increasingly difficult to get approved with Tricare and another potential spanner in the works could be that United Health will take over the Tricare contract in April of this year...I would act now, knowing that right now you are covered for wls under Tricare...no one knows what will happen in April...with that said, there's every chance if you were approved prior and you still meet the guidelines today, that you will be approved again...I really hope so..I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you...
  2. I agree...there should be someone on call..Best Wishes hun..
  3. Congratulations!!!
  4. In 2008 I was 303 lbs...I dieted and exercised my way to 152 lbs in 12 months...3 years later I had gained all but 20 lbs of the weight back..at that point I knew that the band was the only way I was going to have a chance at maintaining a healthy weight...I could lose the weight no problem but I couldn't keep it off. I am determined to help the band help me keep the weight off when I reach goal..It's totally normal to be scared and you have to be positive that this is the right move for you....I wish you well in whatever you decide!
  5. I have Tricare Prime and every region has different requirements..for instance my region is TriWest and requires a 6 month supervised diet. What region are you in?
  6. It's a fun place to visit for sure!
  7. I'd love to move to Texas..it's where my husband is from, we've been in Vegas for 7 years!..

  9. I know Las Vegas is a place lots of people like to visit but are there any people on here that live here? Uncle Sam moved our family here as my husband is in the Air force.....
  10. In 2008 I weighed 303 lbs, 12 months later I weighed 152...(I did it with calorie counting and exercise) I had a tummy tuck in 2009. 3 years later I had gained almost all the weight back and I knew the only way for me to keep the weight off was WLS. I was banded almost 3 weeks ago!
  11. A US cup holds 8 oz...fluids, flour, sugar etc...I weigh proteins as it's more accurate. I'm from the UK (Sleaford) but I live in Las Vegas and I know we don't measure by the cup in the UK and I was confused when I first came here!
  12. I couldn't say it better than all the other posters, so, do what you have to do to be happy and healthy. Good Luck and Best Wishes hon!!
  13. Sounds about right for day 4! I think my bloated feeling disappeared on day 5 and that's when my hunger returned,....it was strange it happened all of a sudden....Hope it goes away for you soon....19 lbs is awesome!

  17. You most probably still have some gas as you are less than a week out and that's most likely what you are feeling...just sip slowly.. 15 lbs is an awesome loss! As the days go by you will feel better and better. You made the decision to get healthy and you'll do great!
