I like Scarlett.....

The last time I went snowboarding I cried for 2 reasons: 1) I was so embarrassed about my lack of ability because of my weight and.... 2) I knew then that I was scheduled for my surgery and would never have to feel that shame again well.............. I went snowboarding with the family yesterday and it was awesome. My kids were saying things like..."you did not even stop once" or " every time I looked back you were right with us". This is one of my biggest NSV's to date. It is so fun to do something as a family and not be the one lagging behind or having to quit early!!! I am so proud of myself and trust me that is not something I say often (maybe not ever)!!!! I could also get up on my board from a sitting position....before I always had to flip over (resembling a beached whale on snow) and get up on my knees first, but now I can get up the normal way. My kids however did not think that was a bid deal because they could always do it and never realized that I couldn't! Oh well...I was proud! Also, last time nothing fit. I had to wear my thin jacket with the bottom of the zipper half way up just to go around my butt...this time same jacket with another jacket underneath and still had plenty of room and a size large snow pants! I did not want to buy the new jacket until next year when I am at goal!!!! Thanks for listening....can you hear the excitement????

I went shopping over the weekend with my 12 year old daughter and I tried on a coat at Delia'a (for girls) and it fit! I did not buy it but my daughter was so proud of me that it felt great. My NSV was not about the coat but how my daughter reacted and said "that is so cool Mom, now we can shop together"! It felt so great to see the look on her face! I love my band!

Hello fellow forty somethings! I am in Boston, married for 23 years, mother of an 18 year old college freshmen (boy), a 15 year old son and a 12 year old daughter. I was banded in May and have lost about 62 lbs. Since the holidays I have gained/lost the same 2 lbs over and over again. I now think it is finally gone for good! Probably time for a fill! I know that if I exercised more I would be losing faster.....just hard to find the time but that is not an excuse!!! I need to get my no longer morbidly obese butt in gear! Joyce...you will do fine, just no more cheating! I promise you it is worth it and it does get easier!

Rainer, I love the saying "Motherhood, where the days are long and the years are fast". I remember having days like that too but now that they are growing (18,15,12) I wish I could go back and have a bad day with my 3 year olds!!!! Just remember that even these crazy days are to be cherished even if they do not feel like it at the time. Your girls are adorable! You will get into a groove and this will pass. Every mom has those "I want to pull my hair out days"! Coloring is good for them and you....sit down and color. It always relaxed me! Good Luck!

Go Patriots! If they were actually cheating, why have you not heard any other coaches complain??? It is because they all do it...they all film from the sidelines, we were just the scapegoat. We made Eric Mangini and the Jets stop filming last year but we did not blow it out of proportion, we just told him to stop. Simple.

Sorry Ted...that was a bath room joke about the politician in the airport mens room....never mind it was a bad one anyway!!!! Good luck with the band....It is all worth it. I am down 61 lbs and feel like I have my life back already! I have NSV's (non scale victories) everyday. From tying my shoes to running up the stairs to buying clothes in the regular dept. It all feels great. Good luck and keep us posted on your surgery. This site has so much information, it is a great place to hang out!

You can do all of those things, it just takes some planning. I go out to lunch and have soup. This time of the year they usually have some nice hearty soups. It does get easier....I promise! I unfortunately can get popcorn down!!! I just hate not drinking with it so I usually just have a couple of handfuls of my kids. But you are right....it all does revolve around food now but once you adapt to you new life it will be about the game etc. not about the food! Sorry for the Cowboys loss....I really thought it would be Patriots Cowboys Superbowl!! I am a very big Pats fan. Good luck with your band and it does get much much easier!!
