  1. Good for you.......That must have made your day!!!!!
  2. Hi All, I just got back from vacation so I am catching up. I was very concerned that I would gain during vacation (since I always have) and I still do not have a fill.Well I got home and ran straight to the scale.....not usually the first thing I would do when I got home from vacation but life is different since the band and............I lost a pound!!!! I am sooo happy! I know that a pound is not that exciting but it was a pound in the right direction. I cheated a few times like real butter etc. but I did exercise everyday. It made me so happy that I am going to get on the treadmill now! Small scale victory!!!! Still not getting in enough Water but I am not going to admit defeat! I have a doc appt on Thursday, hopefully my first fill! Keep up the good work and keep us all posted.....
  3. I have a million last straws but one was going back to my old job after being home with the kids for 10 years and having to face everyone with the much larger me. I looked like I sat and ate 10 years away. I also had so many activities with the family that I just sat on the sidelines because I did not have the energy to participate......so many events that I did not want to attend because of my weight. I actually went to the first WLS info session, left thinking I could do it on my own.....gained a few more lbs and decided I needed help! So far surgery is the best thing I could have done! I am so happy to finally be in control!
  4. One of the things that is on my list is wakeboarding with the family. Last year I could barely get up, never mind stay up. I am going to try this week on vacation so wish me luck! I already have so much more energy with only 29 lbs gone, I can't imagine being close to goal!!!
  5. Gadgetladay and MsDad, you can not kiss and make up. That ruins all of the fun, every time the main characters of a show lose the tension, the show fails!! We need the gloves back on right now to keep us interested!!!! LOL Just kidding......I love to read your posts....you both keep it fun and lively!!!
  6. I am so sorry for your loss! What a terrible thing to go through....((hugs)). Are you still friends with that insensitive b#@$%?????

  8. I really feel that it has more to do with how an individual feels in their own head. I was thin, married at 98lbs (banded at 230) but hated the way I looked at 98. I thought my legs were too fat, not firm enough etc. I remember my doctor giving me a hard time for gaining 6 lbs after I quit smoking and was pregnant. He said you cannot keep gaining this way, I was 113 lbs. I thought I was huge! I never felt comfortable in my own skin!!! It is something I have to work on. So I guess my message is that even though some of us weren't the largest person in class etc, some of us have felt awful in the same class as you although it did not show on the outside as much. I am not looking for sympathy if that is what it sounds like....we all have our own head issues and weight issues. I just think that we have to understand that whatever the weight is (yes even the person who wants to lose 5 lbs) it is their own struggle. I know that if I had not been banded, the scale would have continued to go up so I relate to the higher BMI's I am not sure if I actually captured what I wanted to get across but I tried. We should all be proud of our success!
  9. Thanks for the tip.....I need all the help I can get. I will give it a try!
  10. Well, I can handle the exercise.....but not the water!!! The closest I have come is 40 oz!!!! I used to drink all my fluids with my meals and I cannot do that anymore! Oh well, I will keep trying!
  11. We like the Liberty Tavern as it is served family style. You can take your own portions from the platters provided. Have Fun!
  12. I was just in the store and saw the headline on First for women magazine and it said LOSE 21 LBS THIS WEEK! Ya Right!!!
  13. Never mind.....I did it, no more ticker envy!!!!
  14. Cindyluhu....How did you get your ticker working??? I am ready to throw this laptop out the window.....someone please help! Way to go Julie!!!!! I will not get in the amount of Water...but at least I got in the workout!
  15. I have not had a fill yet so I cannot give you advice, however I am writing to say Congratulations on quiting smoking and your weight loss!!!! Those are two huge accomplishments and you should be very proud!!!!
  16. I have ticker envy again!!!! I have tried and tried to get my exercise challeng ticker working and I have failed miserably!!! Can anyone give me some tutoring? Ragdoll....I bet you will get more response on a larger thread, I wish I could help but I am technologically challenged!
  17. Metalband comes from being banded and I work in the metals industry. I love this tread!
  18. Margie....That is sooo funny! I would not have gotten the band if sliming was on the other end. There is a thread about that new fat blocker and the posters refer to it (the other end) as squeezins! YUCK! LOL Good luck in bandland!
  19. I was wearing a 20 and a couple of stretched out 18s a month ago. Today I went to get a new pair of black (what else) work pants. I brought 16 into the dressing room without knowing it (eyes are starting to go too) and they fit, snuggly but they fit. I bought them and a pair in blue just because they fit!!! Hooray for us!!!
  20. There is no need to thank me......it is a very self serving challenge!!!
  21. Hey Margaret, Since you were so good at keeping our calendar, any suggestions on the tracking of our challenge??? Do we just do individual tickers or should we try to get fancy?
  22. It is like before you vomit and your mouth fills with water.
