  1. If your dr said to go to him at the hospital, that is what I would do. If you're not able to sip your Water, that is very dangerous....dehydration sets in fast and is no joke.
  2. Carole, I'm so sorry about Sushi. Hopefully the meds will help. Off to my Mom's to float in the pool. It's gonna be 105 today!! (Hoping my incisions are healed. I think they are, but gonna have mommy double check first. LOL)
  3. Dee, Great America is an amusement park. So the both you and Michelle will be having a ball riding roller coasters tomorrow. :-)
  4. For me, my surgeons office dealt with submitting me to my insurance for approval. At my first consult with the surgeon they called my insurance and found out all the requirements I would need for approval. Once everything was done, they submitted everything to insurance for me. It never hurts to call your insurance company beforehand to find out for yourself whether your company covers wls and what their requirements are. Best of luck to you!
  5. Good evening ladies. Interview went well, now we wait and see. One of the people interviewing me (there were 3) I used to work with briefly about 7 years ago...she is the person who made me want to go back to school and finish my degree. I never got to tell her the impact she had on my life, so today after the interview I got my chance...I got a little teary eyed. It was a good moment. :-) Dawn, thanks so much for sharing your troubles with us. You are a wonderful woman and I know you will get back on track...you've been a busy lady lately, so don't be too hard on yourself! AND GO TO THE DOCTOR! Michelle, $425 for a fill! Holy heck! And what was the name of the guy who does your fills? Meant to go back to thread and write his name down, but I wasn't quick enough. Carole, can I just say, you are living my dream...designing your own kitchen. So freaking awesome!! I hope you find your scale soon and that your band stops being so finicky. Dee, loving the new pic. You look marvelous! Diane, sending you lots of love. Don't know how you deal with everything on your plate...you are a saint. Terri, McDonalds French fry...yummo! Sorry you got stuck on it...wash it down with a chocolate milkshake? LOL. But seriously, hope you feel better. Janet, thanks again for starting a new group. I'd be lost without you ladies. And congrats to Angela & Evan on the move.
  6. Hi!!!! Took me a couple days but I finally found the thread! So, so happy to have a place to come chat with you ladies, thank you Janet. Just a quick hello for now...off to ANOTHER interview. Fingers crossed for this one, it would actually put a little more moola in my pocket. Love you ladies. TTYL.
  7. My surgeons office called to tell me I was approved and I got my surgery date right then. I'd call your Dr and spasm them.
  8. I'm almost 3 weeks post op and the first week I experienced the same thing. Once I started eating puréed foods it got better. Just drink lots of water...there isn't much else to do. Oh and don't breath on your wife, LOL
  9. You got it! And love the new pic :-)
  10. I just had my surgery with Dr Coirin on May 17th.
  11. You're in the right place. I started on this site when I was beginning my 6 month diet as well. this site has given me a world of knowledge and I'm happy to say I was banded on May 17th. My only advice would be to learn everything you can before hand. Best of luck to you.
  12. As far as I know it's a Dr's preference whether they do this or not. My Dr did not, as he feels the stomach swells enough with surgery, adding a fill would/could make drinking a lot more difficult right after surgery.
  13. I was told no straws for the first 6 months. Something about putting additional air into your pouch. Although I did forget and use a straw at Jamba Juice on Thursday...whoops!
  14. Congratulations Wendy! You are going to do fabulous!!
  15. Try looking into Team in Training. They're a non profit that teaches people how to run marathons. They raise money for leukemia. http://www.teamintraining.org/
  16. I didn't have to do weight watchers, but I did have to do a 6 month Dr supervised diet, where I had to meet with my Dr once a month and keep a food journal. The time honestly flew by and I am very happy that I had to do it. It gave me time to learn everything I could about the new lifestyle I would be taking on. I immersed myself in this site and learned the good, the bad, and the ugly. Good luck to you!
  17. What you're feeling is normal. I questioned myself right up till they put me to sleep and even after they woke me up. I'm 5 days post op and feeling great. You'll do great tomorrow. Keep us posted.
  18. I'm about 5 days post op and I haven't had any problems taking pills. But ask your Dr, ultimately it's up to them.
  19. I liked Bandwagon by Jean McMillan
  20. You look wonderful! Congratulations and best wishes for the future!
  21. You just gotta white knuckle it and think about the end goal...fully healed, healthy and working towards a healthier, skinnier you. Best of luck to you.
  22. I'd be very careful. I was banded yesterday and am going to Disneyland in October. I asked my doctor about riding the rides and he said it should be fine since I'll be so far out from surgery. Seems like you'll only be about 6 weeks out...so if I were you, I'd probably skip the rougher rides. That being said, ask your doctor...they know best :-)
