  1. Most doctors in Mexico only accept cash or cashiers check..so there is no discount . Some of the Dr.'s in Mexico do run specials on certain months where they charge less

Hi Deby, You have blue cross of california and live in Texas? I live in California and have Blue Cross PPO There was no way I could get them to cover my surgery. I tried like heck , but to no avail, I did supervised diets with my doctor so I went to Mexico and self paid, and glad that I did. If Itried to appeal with my insurance company I would probably still be fighting them, but now I site here 80.5 lbs lighter 11 months later. So I am happy with my decision. I wish you much success with getting them to approve you
  4. Julie here is a great site with info on adjustments http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm If you are losing and not hungry between meal then I say you did the right thing,
  5. Hi Karen, one of my worst PB's was on sushi ( california roll) I know Dr. Ortiz reccomends liquidsfor 24 hours after a PB If you are a sushi fan, just a little tip..when orderingany kid of roll ask them to make it with rice paper instead of using the seaweed, it is sooo much easier to chew and you will not notice a diference in taste one single bit.

Bright I agree, surgar carves more surgar and carbs crave more carbs for me. Today I have been sugar free and I'm going to see if I can make it one day with NO chocolate. I figured since I had no sugar today to start my craving I can make it.
  9. Congratulations Nicole, welcome to the world of bandland!

I love POGO I like the Poppitt and the turbo blackjack

Viki are you thinking what I and many others are thinking? Too funny I'm laughin Anyways.... Bigchixrule, It was Lisa's choice to leave this board, no one else's. She did mention in her "I'm done with this insanity" post that she would give out her email address for any one who wants it, why do'nt you PM her and ask her for it I am sure she would ablige you and continue to make you laugh and feel good, whether she posts on this board or not. Pat- I knew you had no bad intentions with your posts, it is hard sometime when reading a post, people take it out of context . I know you would never say anything hurtful, again it is Princess_nthep's choice to leave. We are all adults here, no one shoud be begged to stay. Choices!

Best of Luck to you Princess, I'm sorry you feel you have to leave us so soon. I hope your weight loss journey is a smooth and successful one Take Care
  14. Teresa my guess on that question would be that this board has grown so much since I have been a member over the last year. One person handling this job just may be too much for them, if my memory serves me correctly there has always been 2, Alex and Tangerine I could be wrong though, just my guess as to why more moderators
  15. La_madam replied to whippledaddy's topic in The Lounge
Princess I think all Pat was saying is we all have really gotten to know and grown to care for Ryan and his wife Patty over the months, We have been with him through alot of ups and downs with himself and his wife's health problems while he has been here. His posts are the most inspirational. Nothing bad against you Princess, you being a member here is important, what you have to say is important, we just have not gotten to know you yet in the month you have been here on a more personal level is all. Please do not take offense to any of this
  16. thank you marie i appreciate you and all of your possitive efforts here as a friend to every member and as a moderator
  17. love cooking with cookbooks as a matter of fact i just purchased from a school kid selling door to door called "eating better* lower carb*less fat* fresher ingredients" every recipe in there looks very band friendly. it is a recipe book from teachers all across america who are home econimic teachers..i occassion as i surf the tv will land on the food network
  18. AC is just an hour and half bus ride from Manhattan
  19. the crab dip recipe sounds heavenly, thank you for sharing it with us. it will come in handy this weekend while i entertain my house guests.
  20. Yes go back to basics. Keep a water bottle filled with ice cold water handy at all times. I keep one with me 24/7, it helps. Drink water instead of picking or grazing. Protein first. Protein curbs the appetite. Carbs crave carbs, the more carbs you eat the hungrier you get. it is a vicious cycle. start your day with protein only you will be amazed at how less hungrier you are
  21. I have heard that allergies or sinus infections will tighten you up like a drum I have been fortunate to have neither. I hope you feel better soon
  22. Tinkerbell I have ZERO regrets. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. It has been so much easier then I ever imagined. I have lost 80.5 lbs in almost 11 months with minimal effort. I just started exercising full board Feb 1st, most of my weight loss was with No exercise. I have not felt deprived one single bit. Good Luck on your decision.
  23. Here is a thread that another woman posted about her weight loss before the band and gave some info. She lost 40 lbs in a month and a half I believe http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=5307
  24. Bright I would love to fly to New York , it is my favorite place to go and visit. I know that city fairly good.NYC is a blast, so much to do and so much to see and such great food I used to go there every 3 months for a little getaway. If you plan something let me know, I have lots of frequent flyer miles to use up !
