  1. Patty, congratulations to you .I'm happy for you . I wish you much success with your new band. I hope your journey is a smooth and pleasnat one
  2. Greg, you stated that very well. What is a moderators job, if they can not moderate Removing the thread Marie addmitted to removing does not affect me in any way shape or form or does not affect the reason I come here. I come here for Lap Band related issues,& support I beleive the intent from the author of that thread was a band related issue but was taken a different way from many members here and the replies showedthat., and after reviewing it and its contents I'm sure Marie had good reason to delete it. If it was a true band related issue with proper band related repsonses I doubt highly it would of ever been deleted. She is a moderator, she moderated. Plain and simple I also agree with Donali, if someone attacks me in a PM, I willsend it to the moderators and hope they dop their job as a moderator and take action against the person sending the PM, if the moderator sits aback and does nothing about it I will do as Donali stated, it will NOT be kept private and If I get removed from this board for doing so then so be it.No one will attack me and I sit back and ignore it I would like this board to get back to what it is designed for and I know I speak for many many members here. It is diffucult for me to come here and see all of this hatered amongst a few certain members. " can't we all just get along" I too am extremely happy that guidlines will be put in place here at LBT
  3. Jamie it will be here boefre you know it, sounds like you are very prepared for this new journey you are about to embark on. We will be counting them down with you
  4. I agree with Megan on Sue's first thought, it make total sense. When I had esophagitis my esophagus was so swollen I could not eat any solids. The prevacid really helped me to repair my damage esophagus.
  5. COngratulations Patty on your band and the beginning of the "new" you.
  6. Amen Donali I agree 100% with your post
  7. I started out at 265 , 10 months ago and was wereing a size 20 -22 I now weigh 185 and wear a size 12 Iam 5'4
  8. Thank You Alex..I am very pleased to hear this, because what I have been wittnessing this week with a certain member attacking another has been absolutely disgusting and so uncalled for. Does this also apply for personal attacks in a PM??? because if I get any personal attacks from any member I will cut and paste it here in the public forum for all to read . I feel personal attacks should not be allowed anywhere in this board . What will be the consequence if another member personally attacks another member? Will they be asked to leave the board or what? P.S. Alex thank you for locking the Marie as a Moderator thread
  9. My husband has never known my weight. .
  10. I was shopping for souvenirs on El Revolucion in TJ ( the main tourist shopping street) the next morning after my surgery ..everyone is different. I have had 3 c-sections and this was a piece of cake compared to my C-sections pain wise
  11. www.obestiycontrolcenter.com has several patient testimonials from teenagers. Maybe that will help you. Lots of teens are getting the band. Dr. Ortiz has placed several bands on teens. http://www.obesitycontrolcenter.com/about_video.html This site is a video clip of Ortiz and there is a clip about teenagers when he was on TV on the Wellness Hour
  12. Corgi..I did the exact samething LOL I ate carnitas, rice & bean andtortillas up until midnight the night before my surgery. My Dr. did not require any pre op diet so I took full advantage of the "Last Supper" . You are not alone
  13. I live in So Cal so I just go to Dr. Ortiz for all of my sftercare/ fill or emergencies I'm just an hour and a half from the border in Orange County
  14. I noticed in another post you wrote that you are going to Dr. Ortiz He is wonderful and so is Dr. Martinez. Iam a very happy Ortiz patient. He and his staff have been there for me every step of the way. Good Luck If I can help answer any questions for you please feel free to contact me angel.atheart@cox.net
  15. Mom Ceo, please get the name of the Dr. that Ortiz wil lrefer you to in Florida. If it is Dr. Grossbared please make sure you call him before surgery. I have heard from other Florids?Ortiz patientswho thought they were going to use Grossbard to only find out after surgery he was not taking any more patients from Mexico or Ortiz's patients. Maybe it is a different doctor, Orti'z has trained so many all over the US. bt do make sure you have some Dr. lined up for aftercare or emergencies in your area, it is vital. I have seen so many not get this taken care of before surgery and have regretted it deeply and have had to fly back to TJ for aftercare & fills ..in theevent of an emergency you want someone near your hometown.. P.S. Ortiz is the best. he and his entire staff wil ltake great care of you..you are in good hands ( cute ones too
  16. All I know is my Dr. told me NO MORE CARBONATION ever again..it was in big bold letters on my post op instructions. SO obviously there is a reason for it ..I'm gonna listen to him When I asked the nutritionist at my surgeons office why...her answer was there have been studies saying erosion is possible with carbonation so do not take the chance until the studies have been proven correct or incorrect. Coca Cola will eat the acid buildup off a car battery..have any of you ever tried it? You will be amazed. If it does that to a car battery Hmm..only imagine what it does to our stomachs and our plastic bands ..not wort the risk for me..but to each his own
  17. Nice Job on the weight los Katie 3 lbs is awesome!
  18. La_madam replied to a post in a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am a smoker and have no problems with my band
  19. Joanie I had the exact same pains you are having..mine felt like a pinching from time to time, like I pulled something, when I called Dr. Ortiz and asked him aboutthis he told me it is all the healing phase from surgery. I even had aside ache like I ran too fast on my port side and he too said that was normal and will eventually go away and it has. Everynow and then I get pain in my port area but now it is from me being able to feel it so much more since I have lost 80 lbs. Dont worry you are not normal, if there is no redness or ooozing or swelling on the outside of your incision I'm sure you are just fine
  20. Fransecca and Zoe Both of you look amazing. What a great job both of you have done!! Incredible...Incredible..Incredible This band really does work
  21. My DL says 180 and has since I was 16..Iam only 4.5 lbs shy of it WOO HOO!!!!
  22. Here is my starting weight Monday morning 184.50
  23. Yeah Vera! Im so happy it was nothing serious. Glad you are home safe and sound
  24. 184.50 1/2 lb loss for me this week
  25. Alex you are one of the most experienced bandsters her always giving such sound advice and encouragement. I'm so glad you are going in for an unfill . You are being a responsible bandster and I admire you for taking control and not letting the great wieght loss you have been experiencing deter you from doing what you know in your heart is the right thing to do for you and your band  I have always said, this is not a race but a journey.
