  1. The first bites for me at every meal give me the same feeling, no matter how much I chew or how small the bite is, it is after the first few bites that I no longer have the tightness in my chest.
  2. I had the exact same thing and was told by my Dr. it was caused from swelling in the diaphram area as the swelling goes down the burps will come out. They did!

  4. Good for them and good for you for listening to them It is important while on this journey that us bandsters do not let the scale dictate our success or failures. We must think of all of the other possitive things that have been accomplished since our bands. What we weigh is just a small piece of the puzzle, what is more important is how we feel about ourselves and the great strides we have made to become happier and healthier people. You have done that so be proud and hang your head high!
  5. Brandi I was just like you in the beginning, but now I only weigh once a week if that. I found like you, thescalewould dictate my mood for theday. I also noticed I would sabatoge myslef. I have worked hard to not let what the numbers on the scale say dictate my success. I am now focused on the things in my life that have changed for the better since being banded. Try it, instead of jumpijng on the scale. Move thescal out of your bathroom for starters.

  10. I have heard of Banjor but not of the Dr. I'm sure if you do a search on here using the keyword Banjor you may find some info What has made you look into Banjor? Is it the price in Mexico? Going to Mexico is a risk in itself so in my opinion you want the best and the most experienced in Mexico, cheapest is not always best..ask how many bands this Dr. has preformed, ask for references, call them. That is what I did when I went with the Dr. I chose to use in Tj, and he was not the cheapest by any means, I could of had it done for alot less in Tj but I went with experience as well. I have been extremely happy with my Dr. and his entire staff this past 16 months they have bee n there for me every step of the way and have gone above and beyond any care I have ever recieved here i nthe U.S. Best of Luck to you, I hope you find the info you are looking for

  12. I keep a prescription of suppositores of phenergan on hand for vomiting in the event I get the flu
  13. I grab a bottle of ice cold water, or I come here to LBT, Or I play games at pogo.com OR ride my stationary bike..all of those things work for me.
  14. My Dr. did NOT require a pre op diet so I ate every meal as it was my last for a month thinking I would never be able to enjoy food again, I couldnt of been more wrong. I still to this day enjoy food, all the foods I ate pre band except on occassion bread and pasta and rice. . Do what your head & heart tell you, only you know the answer to the question
  15. There is a thread here with a great fantastic Crab Dip Recipe It was made by one of our bandsters Carol at the last Vegas Bash, it was a hit! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=4160 OR Rasberry Chipotle over cream cheese served with crackers

I agree with the others, start the bandster mentality start taking smaller bites, chewing chewing chewing and not drinking with your meals and waiting an hour after to drink, protein first, veggies , fruits then carbs, I you can do well with all of this it will benefit you greatly after you have your band

Cute Cute hair..I love it! You look great!!! I dont see those extra lbs either.
  19. The hair loss diminishes over time, many of us experienced the same thing up to 6 months post op. Now my hair loss is very minimal.
  20. I ride my stationary bike everyday for 4 miles, I started last week and Iam committed to this. For motnhs though I have used 5 lb dumbells for my arms and do them every night while watching t.v. for 10 minutes and it has made a huge difference. I suscribe to "FITNESS" magazine and every month there is all kinds of helpful exercises to tone up legs, tummy, arms, butt as well as so much other helpful info for me.
  21. Thanks Lisa for starting this thread, it was getting a bit confusing for me. Are all of the people mentioned above a for sure thing, they have committed and are going for sure?
  22. Definition of Puree: Noun: puree pyû'rey 1. food prepared by cooking and straining or processed in a blender Verb: puree pyû'rey 1. Rub through a strainer or process in an electric blender To me there is a difference in mush & puree Mushy to me is cottage cheese, oatmeal, refried Beans etc those do not seem to be puree to me, just my opinion
  23. You may not even need a pain killer..all I used was liquid tylenol My pain was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be and haveheard the same from many others. Everyones pain threshold is different , I know but you may be happily suprised that your pain is not what you expected. You may have a hard time getting the vicodin down due to the swelling in the area. I would definately take what your Dr. prescribes and if it is not enough for you then speak to him about something stronger.
