MiniMi got a reaction from Trish Leadbeater in Dr Kuri
Hello there MD!
I've had two fills since being banded on 10/5. I'm down 42 lbs
After the fills I didn't notice anything different about what I can or cannot eat. I eat the same. I just stay full a little longer.
I still eat way too fast and don't chew like I should ( for sure).
I am sure that my band will teach me a thing or two about that at my next fill or so.
I have the realize band 14cc and I'm at 4.5 fill so far.
GL to you!

MiniMi got a reaction from 2muchfun in Stalled and frustrated
Hello! Been off for a while. Banded in 2012. 23 lbs from goal and I've been the same weight for one year. This band really is the tool so you don't regain. Most everything else take hard work and dedication. Maintaining is a piece of cake and easy. I just wish I was maintained 23 lbs less. Who cares, I'm a rock star either way and I'll get there when I quick jerking around!

Nice to know I'm not alone. Is anyone else having a problem with mucous? I feel like I'm choking half the time ( started this morning.)

Yes ma'am.
Jk
I do it and I'm successful for all the reasons you stated and one more.... I do it to prove to myself that I'm stepping out of my own way ( that has lead me to morbid obesity) and let my band do it's job.

MiniMi got a reaction from VSGAnn2014 in Weight Loss Traps: Why Smart Women Stay Overwhelmed And Overweight
I am recently banded. I love your article. I just realized through my preop diet that my family stresses me out. As soon as I get home and I hear everything that needs to be done, or see what didn't get done, I want to eat. I am not hungry but I am using food as a way to hide. I feel overwhelmed and would rather eat then wash the dishes that didn't get done or go fold a load of laundry. Food seems to be my only way out instead of demanding more from my family.

Remember when I told you I could lose weight, but you'd still be ugly?

MiniMi got a reaction from Debbie3sons in Lean cuisines
I noticed weight loss stalling while eating frozen meals. ( in the past that is)
If you try them but stall in weight loss that may be why. ( side note: beef also has that effect on me)
I also never eat lunchmeat. Grilled fish, chicken, turkey and rarely pork. That works for me. Or Gould I say I get good results in the least mount of time and I feel good.

I only told immediate family and one friend. Only encouragement is what I got. I didn't need negativity since I already had enough of that in my own head.

MiniMi reacted to NJDad in 6 months today
Six months ago this evening, I had my lap band surgery. A year ago this week, I started seeing a nutritionist. I have attached a pair of pics, one from the summer of 2012, another from last week. I am down about 94 pounds since I started seeing the nutritionist.
Here's a pair of pics with a before and after view. I still have a ways to go, but I am happy with the progress so far.

MiniMi got a reaction from Bandista in 64lbs Lost! 3 Months Post Op
It's all about sticking to the program and embracing the new lifestyle. You can't "hope" for these results, you have to go out and get them. GREAT job!

MiniMi reacted to ☠carolinagirl☠ in I did it.....
these are the coral colored pants that my friend AJ sent me last year..i have wrote about them before..when she sent them to me, i could not get them up over my thigh...100% true
and i do not own a scale and so i used these pants as a way for me to gauge how i was doing....little by little, i got them on...and then i was trying hard to get them buttoned.....and then my stomach apron kept me from that....but i kept ON..
day in and day out
eating my allotted amount
lean Proteins, veggies, fruit
drinking ALOT
and exercising
first just walking (all i could do)
and then i would go farther and farther
and then start low impact step aerobics
first without the step and then on the step
and now its a daily thing...to work out after work
i do not eat my din din until ole girl works out
and here i am today....wearing those coral colored pants..(they come with a white belt but i did not include it as i wore a black shirt)..the pants are a size 16 reg/missy (label said)...and the sweater is size large
so, 16 months ago, i was in a size 5x skirt, size 30 pant and well over 336+ pounds
and this is me today..in those coral colored pants
so this post is to say, i did it...
thanks for the support

here's my pet peeve: "I need advise" hello, you need advice, sheesh. sorry had to chime in and I'm probably guilty of running one big sentence together as a paragraph but that is the way my brain works. sorry.

MiniMi reacted to jcrosland in Metabolic Rates and calorie burning
Lisacarson, not everyone is the same, and caloric intake will vary greatly from person to person. I, personally, can tell you at 2k per day I will easily lose the 1-2lbs per week.
Also, walking/running for 30 minutes will burn an EXTRA 200-300 calories (as you say) over what your body will already use for 'life support'. I have triple checked the following numbers off various websites:
Walking for 1 Hour - Burn 250 calories
Everyday life for 1 Hour - Burn 85 calories.
PLEASE, PLEASE check your information before you post information that is completely inaccurate. Yes, you burn most of your calories throughout the day resting, but that is because you spend 95% of the day resting (assuming 1 hour of exercise). If we lost weight simply by sitting on our arses, then none of us would be here in the first place

Just don't use it in the shower so you don't rinse it down your back and end up growing hair elsewhere!
