  1. First few days of preop is horrible. Then it kinda fell into place. I had 1 egg and two slices of banana for bfas. shake mid morning. 2oz chicken and 2oz veggie for lunch . Shake for mid eve. And dinner was same as lunch with 2 oz fruit too. About 800 cal. I ate my egg slowly, then would get to work and have my banana slowly. I would do this with the rest of the food too. I found breaking it up made it easier. Also on day 6 I was still really hungry so I added 2 more slices of banana or apple here and the. It beats eating a pizza. End result: 12 lbs lost in 2 weeks
  2. I'm not offended! I like what you post!
  3. Hummus! Is Peanut Butter ok? I thought it wasn't.
  4. Awesome! Congrats!
  5. Random kudos right back at ya!
  6. I know for me sometimes my page on my iPad doesn't refresh before I post and realize it was just said. Good luck to you!
  7. Would there be something wrong with taking a glycerin suppository? How long have you been banded? What food phase are you on? I had that prob first week ad I used a suppository twice. Yesterday I stared the purée phase and the FIRST thing I puréed was zucchini. ( spinach or carrots work too) that helped tremendously. Also hot herbal tea is good, there are certain ones that promote healthy BM.
  8. Wow! Really? You can't see the difference? You look amazing! Keep up the good work. You can tell just in your smile and body language that there is something different, not to mention you're smaller. Way to go!
  9. I think I know what you mean. It doesn't take me two hours to drink a shake and sometimes not even 10 minutes. If I gulp instead of sip nothing seems to happen. I do get a little gassy though. I don't do it on purpose sometimes I just forget. I think once the fills start it will become more of an issue and maybe even painful to do. I'm glad it's a little forgiving now while I'm learning.
  10. That's what I did and it was approved in three days! Call 'em! Also they can give you the approval number. My experience through this process was that the girls in the office wouldn't automatically call you with the approval either so if you want it done you have to do it yourself.
  11. I was banded on the 5 th also. When I bend down I have a shooting pain at the top of my left shoulder still. (Where the bra strap would be) it is so crazy painful and by far the biggest problem I've had yet. I may be a little behind but I went on my first 20 min walk today.
  12. It's gone now EXCEPT when I bend down I get a sharp pain in my left shoulder. Not sure what the heck is going on. Monday I have my first post op dr appt. I'll ask about it. How are you?
  13. Hey there! Congrats! I was banded 10/5 so I'm just a few days ahead of you. Concentrate on the healing process and making friends with your band. The rest will come!
  14. I am 9 days post op. I took pain meds for 1 day after surgery. I went back to work 3 days later. Trapped gas was an issue but is resolved daily walking a little. Excess skin seems to be less of an issue the younger you are and the more active you are but it is also a little bit nature. Lap band allows you to have a powerful tool. No malabsorption but you do need to follow the rules. Protein, Vitamins etc. You'll be around a long time for your kids too!
  15. I was 9 and skinny. I was attending WW with my mom after she had my brother. My mom was talking to her about not wanting me to be fat ( again i was a toothpick so ???) and she took me aside to have a " pep talk". I think it was just the ignorance of the times. I wasn't even able to gain weight ( though I tried) until much later in life. There is something very sublime about looking into the eyes of a young you. You can see behind the eyes to what she really is thinking and going through. I'm so glad I have this opportunity to change for her and do for her what no one ever did.
  16. Yeah it can be. Try chicken Soup flavor
