  1. I have lived most of my adult life in third person, going through the motions. I also am a child of pain who realized quite early on ( from a ww meeting instructor) that boys don't like fat girls. I was given my coping tool right then. I just wrapped myself up in a fat suit where I can justify why everyone in my life has failed me, including myself. After all, a skinny girl would never take this abuse! I recently got a picture of myself when I was 5 and put it on my refrigerator. I thought to myself " if I found that girl on the road, crying, battered, abused, how old I treat her?" Would I not take her home, bathe cloth comfort and sooth her? Would I abuse her? Blame her? Remind her daily of her past? Of course not! I would change her lot n life. I'd show her a new way. I'd be proud of her and I would love her. So why in the hell haven't I? That is my mindset for this journey.
  2. Jean mini skirt with legging and a tshirt and not have everyone thing " what the...?"
  3. I just stumbled upon this thread and I'm confused what all the fuss is about. I didn't see anything wrong with your ( or anyone's) post. Seems to me though, by you saying that you post " just to post" and not for a comment is describing a blog for this venue. I would read it if you blogged, as I'm sure others would. Maybe this forum isn't exactly right for your desired effect. Thanks for sharing.
  4. That left shoulder thing is crazy. Mine still hurts, 8 day out! Congrats btw!
  5. Man so it wasn't just me! It was a LOT of phlem. Felt like I was choking on it. Went away after a day or so. How bout you?
  6. Not sure but I'd call and bug them. My drs office told he it took 2-3 weeks. 2 days later I called the insurance company and bugged them. Next day I got my approval. Be your own advocate! Good lunch!
  7. Yeah it's hard for me too. I'm only getting lie 450 cal in and can barely get 6 cups of Water. It'll get better though. I'm 8 days in and it's already easier.
  8. It's terrible huh? I am one week post op and still in pain from gas
  9. I was banded last Friday and returned to work the following Monday. This has affected my ability to get rid of all the gas so I'm still uncomfortable. I get to start the purée diet tomorrow - thank god! I wore a skirt to work today that I haven't been able to wear in about a year! Woohoo! 19lbs lost since preop.
  10. Yeah Jess! Way to go!
  11. Shoulder pain was after a few days. I only feel it now when I bend down, it feels like I have a sword inside me trying to poke out from the top of my shoulder. Ouch!
