  1. Isn't the ninja awesome! It purées well durning the mushy stage too. A blender just does not do it especially since you re only doing a tiny amount!
  2. We are now connected on MFP. Thanks.
  3. I am recently banded. I love your article. I just realized through my preop diet that my family stresses me out. As soon as I get home and I hear everything that needs to be done, or see what didn't get done, I want to eat. I am not hungry but I am using food as a way to hide. I feel overwhelmed and would rather eat then wash the dishes that didn't get done or go fold a load of laundry. Food seems to be my only way out instead of demanding more from my family.
  4. I am 12 days post op. I lost every day until two days ago. I am also tired. I am like you, how is it possible to eat NOTHING barely and not just melt away. I think I'm getting ready to start my period and I can feel a little Water retention that I didn't feel before. When I walk even 1 mile a day it comes off more. I'm going to try not to obsess if you promise to do the same. Are you on my fitness pal? If you are add me micheleost.
  5. I was banded on 10/5 move to soft foods on Saturday. The puréed stage didn't bother me too bad, after all I hardly eat anything. As for the hunger, yes I feel it right about the time I have a Protein shake mid morning or mid afternoon. I eat " dinner" around 7. If I get hungry before be a sf Popsicle or a cup of hot tea usually works. I consume approx 500-600 cal a day.
  6. Hi! I was banded October 5. Everything is going great. I'm still on mushy phase. Get my first fill Nov 5. I have the Realize band btw.
  7. Standing up as a teller would make it really hard. Can you call in sick or is it a financial question not to just call in. I had surgery 10/5 and went back to work 10/8 but I have a desk job and I had no pain after day 2. You won't know until after you have surgery how you'll feel. A frank talk with your surgeons office about the post op care and cost would be a good thing at this point. It's a real dilemma, I feel for you. I don't think I'd let this opportunity pass me by but you know your finances and job situation better. You don't want to start your new journey stressed out either!
  8. Ah don't worry! They are all harmless but passionate people! I'm fairly knew here but I've found more useful than harmful comments. Thanks to you all!! ( maybe they all need a cookie ) )
  9. I didn't tell anyone anything! After my surgery I td my boss that I had a hiatal hernia fixed and left it at that. My hubby and kids are the only ones that know.
  10. Seems to me that the sugar withdrawals have a negative effect on some, more so than others.
  11. Good grief! All shame left me after I had my daughter 21 years ago! After having numerous people over the course of three baby deliveries staring straight into the original man cave, I have nothing more to lose!
  12. I eat 1/4 c puréed zucchini or spinach 1 oz ricotta cheese 1 oz tomato sauce. Nook it and it is like lasagna
  13. So the synonym for willpower is "white-knuckling it".
  14. Ooh! Good question. Lets see if any experts pipe in. Im at the sme stage you are so it's a tough one.
  15. I am 10 days post op and I have steadily lost. I track everything even if it is nothing. I'm only at about 500 cal a day. I don't wet things down with gravy. I'm not eating Beans and mashed potatoes . It seems absurd to my brain that eating so little would not just melt the pounds away no matter what it is but I know it just doesn't work that way. So it's fish and spinach with Proteins (I'm in the purée stage) for me. And still until I added 25 min of walking a day at it was only .01 -.04 a day loss. I've lost 22 since preop. My point is, find what works for you.
  16. Could not have been better said. It's my lifeline!
