  1. Thanksgiving this weekend??? Are u overdoing it on the pain pills? U seem to be adjusting well. That's good!
  2. Great job! And no, they'll be happy to see that you're taking this seriously.
  3. I hated metformin, holy shite!!! Made me sooooooooooooooooo sick. I'd much rather do insulin, thanks
  4. lol weirdo I don't have a clever name yet for her
  5. Did ur doctor try any interventions on you? I know a girl who had this problem do the doctor took all Fluid out and they slowly worked their way up to the sweet spot. And I didn't say u didn't have a right to share ur story. I said it would be good for people to read a bad experience. Calm the hell down.
  6. Do the elliptical. You won't get bored on that! I don't like stationary bikes.... I don't feel a good workout from it.
  7. I'm a nurse and never get to sit and my feet KILL at the end of the day. Haven't found any total relief but every night I massage them with my hands and a hand held massager and seems to help some. I also do the cold bottle thing.
  8. Planet fitness?? Good for u! I hope the trainer was embarrassed. I like my gym though. They're all real nice so far.
  9. I was banded sept 11th. My username is allergic2dancin there. There's actually a lot of people here who use that app. Search some threads and you'll find a bunch of people to add
  10. Was nice to read this thread. Thanks for sharing. Like most everyone here, food was my coping mechanism, and now pretty lost on what else to do when things get overwhelming. I wish I had kids or something to distract my thought. It's tough. Hope I figure out something soon, and that u do too.
  11. Oh didn't see ur post.....ditto!!!
  12. No no no, don't do this! It's a slippery slope and pretty soon you'll get unfilled because , "it's my anniversary, birthday, New Years",etc. I can see how it would be tempting but it will just make u sad when u look and see u gained 10lbs
  13. I told the world, just because I didn't want to get "caught" later and have them think I was deceitful. But yessssss, I HATE when people ask how much I've lost like every freaking 2 days!!! At least space it out to every month and give me a damn Chance! Then sometimes they'll be like "that's it?!".......rude!!!!
  14. I was sore for about 7-10 days, but I didn't feel it was unbearable unless I was trying to bend over. I was ready to go back to work after 2 weeks but my boss wouldn't let me because I can't lift over 10lbs for a month!!! I have 5 more days to go until work! So bored! I think everyone should at least take 5-7 days off to adjust but I know that's not always possible. Best of luck to u! And yeah, it's normal not to be able to really drink a lot first couple days. Ur still swollen
  15. Sorry you had so much trouble. I think people who get the surgery though are pretty much at the end of their rope & desperate. We all know the pros and cons, and possible risks associated with this but at least for me it seemed less risky than continuing to deal with out of control diabetes and hypertension. I do think its good that people read some posters bad stories along with the good....especially the ones who may think this is the easy fix. Do u think its possible u didn't lose weight because by ur own admission, u only ate junk food??
  16. I have diabetes and so far my blood sugars are really improved. I have cut down my insulin a lot! I may have to adjust as I start eating more, but for now, nothing but good things. Really I'm hoping this surgery will "cure" me but I doubt it as type 1 runs in my family. Good job on the 52 lbs! It helps to do a preop diet prior to the surgery so its not such a shock to ur system. I know a girl who had the Lapband as her weight issues were causing infertility, and a year later she got pregnant. I do think the lapband is the reason becasue they had tried EVERYTHING to get pregnant and nothing worked. Good luck!
  17. All docs are different. I couldn't do mashies until after 2 weeks
  18. That Is wonderful! Really happy for u
  19. I had my surgery September 11 & I'm in the same predicament. I've lost 14 lbs since surgery but have stalled as well. Get my first fill October 23rd. People around here say its normal though, so ill just sit here impatiently waiting. :/
  20. I don't understand why the layers of clothing??? Wearing more clothes wont make u lose more real weight, just Water weight from dehydration. I admire ur ambition, but I think you're overdoing it, especially with the sauna too. Anyway, yeah you need to be careful of dehydration & electrolyte imbalances.
  21. Had terrible gas pain first 2 days. Walking DOES help to get it out, I also took gas ex. Once I started burping on day 2 I quickly got better
  22. Wow I'm sorry its going so rough for you. 1-2 more days and you'll feel so much better. And resist the urge to just sit around. You'll only prolong the gas issue.
  23. If it was me I'd just go ahead with the surgery if they'd let me, and then afterwards have a hissy fit to his superiors & insurance company to make them cover it. Risky, but that's how I roll. Really sucks though. I had my surgery canceled on me once and I was an emotional wreck. But I stalked everyone until they were so tired of me I got my way
