Is Kettlecorn Popcorn Ok?
What's a slider?? Does that mean you can eat & eat & eat it? This forum needs a sticky thread of terminology lol.....PB'ing, sliders, sliming, being stuck.....learning so much here. They don't speak like this at the support group I go to

Poor baby. But look how happy she is. Children are so resilient! A lot of adults would be beat down by now. God bless.

Am I A Liar?
Lady Marshall, not that it's any of their damn business, but if they ask why another state, just say u researched around and that's who u felt most comfortable with doing ur surgery. Honestly, with HIPPA ur boss shouldn't ask u anything personal about ur health, and they damn sure are not allowed to spread it around what u had done. If they do, sue. Then you'll be skinny AND rich Personally I just told my bosses what I was having done. Figured they'd find out anyway

I've started carrying around a muscle milk light with me everywhere. They don't need refrigerated and that way if I miss a meal I can grab that.

This Is What I Have So Far For Pre And Post Op. Is It Good?
Oh and I liked sugar free hot cocoa too. When I for sick of the protein shakes, I would add a cocoa packet in to cover up the taste of them

This Is What I Have So Far For Pre And Post Op. Is It Good?
I wasn't allowed to have pudding until 2 weeks postop so check with ur doc to be sure when u can have it. I liked Gatorade g2 low calorie, and sugar free Popsicles postop. I've seen some people here recommend liquid Tylenol but I never used it
-
Super Excited :)
Yay! See, you're gettin there Before my surgery I stocked up on Gatorade G2 low calorie, broth, sugar free Popsicles, and ur Protein shakes of course. Would also recommend gas-ex if your doc is ok with that

Pre-Surg Newbie From Ohio
Good luck to you. You have plenty of time then to gather tons of info here. I wish I would have found these forums preop too. Good place to get a lot of questions answered. I haven't needed to call my doctor at all yet.

Banded In 2008 And Still Not At My Goal
I was just wondering, and I don't know how to ask this without it sounding weird, but do u guys think maybe ur already at ur ideal weight but perhaps jut have some excess skin from weight loss??? I assume that after I lose enough weight that I would need some nip/tuck to get how I want to be.

Thanks maddysgram! That was nice of you to say. Sorry about ur granddaughter. Hope she's doing better.- Pre-Op Weight Loss
And yeah, protein shakes really are a nice quickie meal to have. I like muscle milk light or Bariatric fusion.- Pre-Op Weight Loss
I didn't start the liquid protein diet until 2 weeks before my surgery, so that was already after I was approved for my surgery by insurance, so there was no real expectation of what I should lose. I got weighed morning of surgery and I think lost 9 pounds??- Banded In 2008 And Still Not At My Goal
I'm sorry, I don't have any words of wisdom for you since I'm still a newb, but just wanted to congratulate u on ur weight loss so far. To me, I think it's amazing. I wouldn't mind weighing what u do at all.- 16 Hour Work Shift/ Calories
Not yet but I will be soon. I'm a nurse too and I swear its damn near impossible to get my breaks. I haven't been back to work yet but I'm nervous about how I'm gonna get my food/fluids in.- Vitamin And Mineral Requirement
I take a Bariatric Multivitamin twice a day, and also a calcium citrate + Vitamin d tab twice a day. I take other things like Vitamin A,c, and Iron due to anemia and nutritional defiencies prior to surgery. Everyone is different and ur doc will monitor ur labs. Due to our limited eating its not uncommon for people to require some other meds/vitamins. To me that's a small price to pay to get my life back- Drinking While Eating
I was told to follow the 30-30-30 rule. No drinking 30 minutes before a meal, no drinking 30 minutes after a meal, and you should take 30 minutes to eat ur meal so that ur doing it slowly. My dietician said the reason for no drinking was because it can "flush" the food past the band thus allowing u to eat more, and also doesn't allow ur food to sit in ur pouch long enough to get a full feeling.- Pre-Op Weight Loss
My insurance liked to see a certain percentage of weight loss. Can't remember what percent but was about 15 pounds. I lost 31 pounds on the 6 month preop diet. I think they just like to see that the patient is making positive life changes - 16 Hour Work Shift/ Calories
