On my 3rd doctor visit, I had a good restriction amount of ccs put in my lapband. I was losing weight & was enjoying it. I got a little greedy on my 4th visit & told my doctor to fill me up some more. My lapband was so tight!! I couldn't keep anything down. Instead I felt so gassy, had heartburn & was vomiting everyday. I was miserable but happy I was losing weight!
I went back to the doctor to have it unfill. He took some out of me, then I noticed it was still too tight. I went back & he took out .25cc out.
My doctor requires all his patients to go get a checkup, so I had to have xrays done. Seems like because of all the vomiting I did on a daily basis, I slipped my lapband. So now I had to have all my cc Fluid removed. Hope the lapband can fall back into place normally. If not then I'll have to have surgery.. Urgh.... :-/

Oh my. That doesn't seem right. Might be time to find a new doctor. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

I had a fill on Saturday and on Thursday I notice everything was having a hard time going down. called Dr. today and had half a cc removed. I do have Sjorgens and thought maybe It was just acting up. has this happened alot to other people where they have to unfill a week later??

Not at all, I got my first fill three weeks post op then every two weeks, they were only small fills but I reached green zone in 11 weeks, thank goodness. I did however have 4 Mls in my band at time if surgery.

I didn't even tell my husband until I had decided and scheduled the surgery. It was my decision and mine alone. It is my body and because the risk was so low on the surgery part, I didn't feel like he would need to have a final say. He was fine with it and is happy that I am happier with my body. He was one that was happy either way fat or skinny... But since he is only your boyfriend at this point, he really doesn't have say at all. JMO goodluck!!

Proud to say that I went for an hour walk today in the park. Felt great but now my legs and feet hurt!

HI thank you so much for welcoming me... I am excited I got this done and am looking forward to losing the weight. I plan to exercise next week, I'm still very sore and have the tapes on my stomach, I don't want to sweat and break out in a rash or anything but I'm sure I will be better next week. Thats when I will start moving around. Thank you again and keep in touch =)

I'm glad & proud you want to get the lapband... I personally think your bf doesn't want you being skinny. I'm sure he feels he has the power in the relationship bcuz once arguments happens, he can always use the fact that you're overweight as a bad thing to hurt your feelings.
If you lose weight, you can confidence, feel better about yourself & won't tolerate his BS.
Is he a big guy?
He probably won't be able to handle you looking great! Scared a nicer guy will win your heart. He's human & its normal to feel jealous BUT that's the last thing he should be concern about....
He should be concern about your health & trust you that you will be loyal to him.
I'm blessed that my boyfriend was very supportive about me getting banded & stood by my side & came to my doctor appointments with me...
But if he was against it, I would of left him... Getting the band is something we all did to better ourselves & our health... It's not so I can go look for another boyfriend..
Sorry I made this so long but my point is.... If the lapband is something you want to do, then that's what you should do..
Who cares if the whole world is against you... You have to put yourself first.. DO THIS!! You will be healthier & happier!! :-)

I was banded on the 21st and my doctor won't fill me until oct 10th - this period is certainly more difficult than expected. Any tips?

I think it Depends on the couple and how they were before. I know some people who get along fine and some that their relationship has changed. In mine my hubs stopped being supportive but I expected this because unless it involves sports it won't keep his attention. My hubby has also became jealous more so because a lot of people have notice a big change in my body. In the end both have to understand this is for your health.

Thank you so much for your kind words everyone! While my husband is supportive, he doesn't really understand what I am going through. It's nice to have a place full of people who really get it!

Mine did not put me on one either, he just said nothing by mouth from the night before. So I asked him why, he said my BMI is not as high to require it. So I think they go by that....I guess there's a cutting off number when you do not require it.

I was banded yesterday. Got to the hospital around 6:45, registered, did a urine pregnancy test, and then waited to be called back. I had my two sisters and one of their friends with me, but when I went back I took my youngest sister. I changed into my robe and got settled in the bed. My nurse was super nice. She gave me a pill (already forgot what it was for, heh), and a shot in my belly. Then my IV was started. The surgeon, another nurse, and the anesthesiologist came in to talk to me. Finally, around 9, I was headed back. After moving to the surgery bed, they told me they were dripping something into my IV to calm me down and I was out before too long!
I woke up at about 10:20 and then again at 10:45. I was so thirsty!!! I was wheeled into my room and they made sure my breathing and everything was okay, and then I was taken to x-ray to make sure everything was okay. I was so loopy!! And sore. Finally I was taken back to my room for good, where my sisters were waiting. They told me I had a pretty bad hernia and that was why my surgery took longer than usual. Even with that, I was home by 1, I think? I pretty much slept on and off. Today I forced myself to eat a few spoonfuls of broth and some Protein but I have no appetite. I'm still quite sore. This comes at a bad time since we found out today that we'll be moving out on August 15 instead of mid September! I'm excited for what is coming my way.

Hi everyone, my name is Cindy. I'm 31yrs old from Newark NJ. I really don't know what to say on this but I just got my lapband & so far I didn't expect my stomach to be in pain but luckily I'm taking the pain medication doctors prescribed for me which is helping me out alot. Nurses say the pain is normal because I have five holes in my stomach. My goal is to lose 150lbs, let's hope in due time it gets accomplished. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
