Congratulations!!!!! That is so great. Maybe the stress made you lose instead of gain. A size 12-WOW! I hope to see that number some time soon. Keep up the great work with your trainer, it shows.

Rise up above. This is what I try to think about when the world is falling down around me..... How boring would this thing be if everything worked out perfect turmoil and obstacles build character. Im now 45 and have a lot of peace and inner strength knowing that no matter what comes at me im gonna be ok! Maybe it doesn't feel like it in the moment but one door closes another opens. I have had some things happen to me that would put most in the funny farm you have to hold on to faith and rely on the strong woman you are. Hang in there!

Maybe he is getting a tiny bit insecure. He might need to have his ego stroked a little. Is he one of those who subconsciously tries to feed you, like maybe bringing home ice cream or chocolate. My husband started doing things like that and I brought it to his attention and asked him not to do that, he acted like he didn't even know he was doing it. Try including him when you by clothes and stuff, And ask his opinion about stuff, and make him think this is for him as much as it is for you. He will eventually come around. Good Luck.

I am sorry your husband isn't behind you. Does he think the new you, thinner, is going to leave him? Maybe talk to someone at your doctor's office about how to handle the spouse or bring it up at your monthly support meeting. At my monthly meeting one man said he has a non-supporting wife, after I introduced my supportive husband.
You also hear stories how people marry 'a large person' and then that 'large person' gets fit, lose weight and the spouse doesn't want them anymore.
Have you talked to your husband about this? I wish you luck with this. We are all here to listen and we try to help each other with these problems.

Girl that just means your getting sexy! Truth is my husband dont even know i got the band (I know long story) I have always had problems with Uterine Fibroids so I told him I was going in to get some removed.....men! what do they know ....ha ha ha but at 35 who cares! the only people that know are my parents and a few co-workers.
The procedure was an in and out thing and i told him dont bother taking off work for that...so my parents took me and brought me home!
But yeah girl that's one of the reasons i didn't want to tell him...you know how men get mad and then want to throw unnecessary stuff into the argument......yep that's why! I can see how he cant seem to keep his hands off me now.....and every time i go anywhere, he talkin bout why you dressed up? i can be in flip flops and jeans with a cute top.
And he always wants to tag along with me wherever I go which i love! i love him anyway, but the way his tongue hangs out lately is awesome!

I don't drink, so I have no idea about the wine. But my SIL drinks wine all the time and has lots of ice and waters it down. Maybe try that. My doctor doesn't want me to eat and drink within 30 minutes of each other, so how do you dine and drink at the same time unless your doctor lets you.
Well, anyway, have a wonderful date night-enjoy a great movie.

I waited to have a glass of wine until I was back on solids and cleared by my surgeon to eat whatever my band would tolerate. Alcohol is not encouraged by my surgeon because of the empty calories, but it is allowed in moderation. If you want to be safe, clear it with your doctor first.
Two words of caution though. Because we eat less now, the alcohol has a more potent effect on some people that before banding, so sip slowly. Also, restaurants routinely pour glasses of wine that are 6-8 oz. each. One actual serving should be no more than 5 oz, and wine lover that I am, at home usually pour myself only 3 oz, and it's plenty!
    Enjoy your date night!

I have wine every night, I have since day one. Just remember that they are empty calories, log them in your calories for the day & enjoy!

I probably waited a couple of months after surgery, but you say you have been cleared. I also have a glass or two, a couple of times a week. I work rotating shiftwork and quite often will have a nice 6am, "bedtime" drink. I never noticed any difference in how alcohol affected me pre or post banding, but as many people say, it does affect them differently. Go slow until you see how it affects you. Its still the same amount of alcohol as it was pre banding. As you can see from below, calories can add up...and no protein in wine, so have some cheese with it.
    Calories
A typical 3.5-oz. glass of Cabernet Sauvignon wine contains a total of 88 calories, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Alcohol makes up 77 calories within the serving and 11 calories come from carbohydrates. No appreciable amounts of proteins or fats are within the wine.

I was just like you, always putting others first. My kids have grown into young men and they are hardly around me anymore. So when reality hit me that I need to do something for myself I did. I got to work on me, and put other things aside. This is my life and I am glad I decided to get banded. I was banded on yesterday, have some gas, nothing I can't handle. I think I will be happy with the end results.

I agree with you. I think most women, could be all, put everyone before their own needs and then we finally wake up. At least you're much younger than me for your wake up call.
I take care of everyone still.
